VMax rear end - first 600 miles
Freebird replied to BigShell's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I agree with you 100%. Takes a couple of rides to get used to the sound of the 500 RPM increase but makes for a MUCH better performing bike. I love it. -
Have you been to the Corvette museum before? I was there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. They have a good short movie there on the history of the Corvette.

Nice picture...man....it has GOT to warm up around here. I need to RIDE.

This was sent to me by McBrush. Good article...makes me want to go back and spend more time on it and less on the Dragon. http://www.ohio.com/lifestyle/15917027.html

Good looking trailer. Heck...you are ALMOST close enough for me to borrow it. Just kidding, I have my open trailer that works for the little that I use it.

Just happened upon this. I'm off to Pittsburgh this week and was looking at Craigslist to see if there was anything interesting to look at while I am there. Ran across this ad. http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/584470896.html

A favor to ask, it only takes a minute.... * I * 6*Y Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know. http://www.thebreastcancersite.com/

Rear end gear oil question
Freebird replied to Midrsv's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It will be fine. That's what I've used in mine for several years. -
I never knew her but just looked at her site and she's not too far from me here in Ohio. Next time I'm down that way, I may just stop by. The best thing would be to find somebody who is willing to do this and ship to our members as they order. Running this site the way I do, I really can't afford to stock an inventory and hate it when people have to wait until we have enough inquiries to place an order. Same thing with the shirts. If we could find a vendor that was willing to make up a selection and keep them stocked for us, that would be great. I don't know if such a thing exists though.

Folding backrest for stock seats?
Freebird replied to Monsta's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
They are very similar but certainly not the same. Diamond R does manufacture their own. -
I don't know what the current rating is for the starter button but I would sure find out before going down that path.

driver's seat bolt nuts
Freebird replied to dharnie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've used wingnuts for years. They work OK but you need to use a lock washer and then just snug them down and they will stay. That being said, a lot of folks don't use any nuts at all. It's not going anywhere. -
We are getting hung up on words and definitions. The Venture does indeed us an alternator. Alternators and Generators BOTH use stators. Call it what you want, it doesn't matter. The words are often used interchangeably by many people. Yamaha probably uses the word "generator" because that's the word that many people relate to and understand. The fact here is that you want to get more power out of whatever we call it. Buckeye is the only one at this time to offer a solution.

Gene, I got your message but deleted it. I thought the number would be stored in my phones incoming call memory but for some reason, it's not. So please PM me your number again.

It's $499.00 now. Think I'll hold off.

I don't change tracks. I put it on "random" and let it go.

OK folks. I want to thank Crash for handling our caps and shirts for the past 4 years. It is not easy to do with the minimum quantity requirements and etc. but he has done a great job for us and I thank him for all that he has done. He has notified me that due to a new job that he just no longer has the time to do this. I will be looking for a new vendor to handle our caps and thought that I would post here first. I don't know if we have any members who are in the embroidery business or not but if so, here is a GREAT opportunity to work very hard for very little profit and folks, it just don't get no better than that. If you are in the business and wish to discuss it with me, shoot me a PM or an Email. Again, thank you crash for the wonderful job you have done for us.

Folks...it's been a while since I messed with the CDs but if I remember correctly, there were a couple of different 625s. They had different interfaces. One had a C Bus and the other was something different and only one would work. I think the one that WOULD work was a CDC625 or something like that. I'm THINKING that the dcz was the one that would not work. I may be wrong though, it's been a long time.

No...but they have one very similar. For country they have: Today's Country Hits 80's and 90's Country Hits Classic Country Outlaw Country Bluegrass

That's when the XM or Sirius come in handy.

Thanks for the kind words folks. I can assure you that this site is not going away. This is pretty much a labor of love for me. I have made so many great friend because of it, learned MUCH from so many of you, had some great laughs from some of the posts and some real tears from others. It is more than just a website to me. I promise you that all the hours and money that I put into it are well worth it to me. A few of you do hit the donate button from time to time and that is much appreciated but if nobody ever donated again, I would keep this going. I would love to figure out a way to make this a full time business and do nothing but run this site and ride to all the meets and eats and gatherings that we have but that is just a sweet dream. The rewards that I DO get here are much more important than money. You just can't buy friends like I've found here. Thanks for each and every one of you for being a part of VentureRider.org Whether you post every day, just stop by to read and research or just visit from time to time. You are all important and I am honored that you have chosen to make this site at least a small part of your life.

They are VERY special. It takes a very special person to own one. OK...in my opinion..it is just very poor marketing on behalf of Yamaha. You see few of them on the showroom floors. A handful of dealers will have one or two but many dealers won't have one at all. You never see any promotions from Yamaha and when you do, they are typically for their Roadstars and etc. I honestly think that if I were in a high position with Yamaha, I could increase the sales of this bike beyond their wildest dreams.

Your question about more power was answered about 3 posts up. Buckeye performance is the only one I know who sells a higher output alternator.
