  1. Who do you have your service with? Verizon is notorious for disabling the transfer of Ringtones. They want you to have to purchase them. There are usually ways around it though. I use a program called BitPim to transfer them to my Verizon phone.
  2. Yep...show up at my house for maintenance day and we'll "git r done". OK...I realize that it may be a bit far for you. I'll bet there is a member somewhere close to you that has a Carbtune or mercury set though. If not, you should just buy one. It will pay for itself the first or second time you use it.
  3. The cost of the XM is the only thing that I really don't like about the 550. I move my satellite radio back and forth between the bike and my work car. I would not use the GPS in my car because I use my laptop with a GPS connected for the car. I just can't see paying for an additional subscription for the bike. I know that it works for many of you but just doesn't for me.
  4. The only thing that I see missing is a carb sync. If it's never been done, it would be a good idea to check them.
  5. Got home from Orlando late last night. It was a long and tiring week and I'm glad it is over with. I really do NOT like trade shows and meetings but I have to do them from time to time. Trying to get caught up on all the posts and etc. I think I've replied to all emails and PMs now and am pretty much caught up. Now I've got to get ready to leave for SOMEWHERE tomorrow morning. Haven't even decided where I'm off to this week.
  6. I keep seeing this but I've used a regular battery tender on mine for more than 4 years now and it works great. It will NOT charge one that is way low but mine will top it off if it's slightly low and will keep it fully charged. I've had no problems at all.
  7. He used to be around quiet a bit. Lived in Germany. He sure seems to have dropped off the earth. Hope he is OK.
  8. I'm in Florida on a business trip. Will be here until Saturday night late. Not much free time and I'm also having some email problems. If you email me and don't get a reply, please try a PM. Don
  9. NICE. I have on on mine that Squidley had made up. I like the way yours is shaped though.
  10. Still plenty of patches available. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=645 I'm leaving for FL tomorrow for business though, it will be a few days before I get them mailed.
  11. Sounds like you have covered most of it. I think at this point, I would check the fuel pump.
  12. I'm not sure what you mean about the XM only going 4 hours. I did have one that was a portable but even it had an adapter for 12 volt power. My others were all hard wired. I now use Sirius and also an IPOD. Both have adapters so they are powered from the bike.
  13. It's not difficult and you need no special tools except for a lift. It is a bit time consuming though. You have to remove the bags and at least the right muffler. $200.00 sounds high to me but maybe if I was in business I would feel differently. I would guess that they would have at least a couple of hours of labor in it.
  14. Rick, You do not loose the auxillary input. It just unplugs inside the fairing and you connect their instead.
  15. Looks like the Justice Department has approved the merger but the FCC still has to do so. http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/industries/media/article/justice-department-gives-siriusxm-merger-ok_530362_15.html
  16. Send me your address and your preference of guardian bell or two patches. Nice picture. Geezzz Mr. Owl...you DO know how to "stick" a thread. I've done it though. Too late on the covered bridge. The winner has now designated a caboose for the next challenge. Heck...there is actually a caboose about 12 miles up the road from me that has been converted to a diner...if I could just get my bike out of the driveway I could win this one.
  17. If you are talking about their manual tire changer with the motorcycle attachment, I have one but have never used it. I probably will someday but as cheap as the Honda dealer hear will install them, I just haven't done so. It is pretty heavy and I think the price of shipping it from one member to another would make it impractical to do.
  18. OK folks...I can't say that I will provide a prize for ALL of these but for this first one, I will provide a VentureRider Guardian bell or two VentureRider patches (your choice) for the first one who posts a NEW picture of their bike by a covered bridge. As said earlier, it MUST be a picture taken since this was started. NOT a picture taken last year or any other time previous. hmmmm....if the picture is of your bike AND the Hooters girls, I will include the bell AND the patches.
  19. It works on any carburetted bike. This probably explains it better than I could. http://www.carbtune.com/colortune.html
  20. I've seen prices all over the place for this. We have a local Honda dealer that will install for free if you buy the tires from them or for $25.00 per tire if you bring in the wheels and tires. That is what I have always done in the past.
  21. Very nice job. I like it. I may do something similar with the Sirius. I'm not 100% happy with the equalizer that I installed. It works fine but no GREAT improvement.
  22. In my opinion, there is no better battery than the Odyssey. Don't know where the cheapest place to buy it is though. I bought mine from West Coast Batteries about 4 years ago. Now there is no place in it for the sensor and it wouldn't work anyway because the sensor is for the electrolyte level and the Odyssey is a dry cell. Here are the instructions to bypass the sensor. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  23. Hey...no reason to get all mushy about it. Glad it worked out for you. Now enjoy that bike.
  24. Yes, they do have caps on them.
  25. I'm not sure what you are looking at. Mine are definitely schrader valves.
