  1. Feedback on Ebay is a sore spot for me. I don't like it that some sellers will not leave feedback until the buyer does. I look at it differently. Somebody buys something that I have for sale. They are sending me money and trusting me to send the item, trusting that I have described it properly, paid me in accordance with the terms. They have fulfilled their part of the deal and deserve positive feedback. I leave it immediately. I always hope that they will return the favor when they receive the item but I don't worry about it.
  2. Absolutely beautiful Larry. I'm proud of you and very happy for you. I don't think I'm ready to do a trike yet but that sure makes me want to consider it.
  3. I can of dropped the idea folks. I posted the price a few threads up. I would be willing to pay the price but the minimum order is 250 and I don't think there is any way that we will get that many people to buy them. Sorry.
  4. I see that you also post on the MTA site from time to time. Are you are were you ever a member of the VTS (now the MTA)? Actually, I'm going to start another poll about that probably tomorrow morning. Just curious. They are a great group.
  5. I haven't looked today but I THINK I remember seeing that they offered the trunk as an accessory.
  6. Just curious. How did you find this site?
  7. WELL...I don't think THAT was necessary. HEY....I kept the mower out of the pond all year last season. Now the lawn vacuum....that's another story.
  8. Folks, I did not post the link here in an attempt to get you to buy patches. You can buy patches right here if you want them. Just paypal the amount of $3.00 per patch to dnelson@axcesswave.com If it's easier for you to use Ebay, that's OK too but is not why I did it. I did it because I've tried it before and a number of people actually found our club through that method. As for those of you who have purchased as off right now. All are in the mail. Even if you purchased and I got a note that said payment was coming via mail, I still mailed your patches. Thank you.
  9. Lewis, Thank you so much for doing this. I know that it will mean a lot to the family. I hope that everybody here will visit the page and sign the guest book. If you can afford a small donation, please do so. If you can't, that is fine also. Just signing the book even without a donation will mean lot to the family.
  10. I have one but I bought it back in '99 and they have changed them since then. Mine does not swoop back nor does it have the lip at the top like the new ones do. That being said, I honestly think that they made the best shield on the market. A LOT of our members here use them and I think that most everybody is very pleased. I have the extra large one on my bike and I do have to look through it. I like it though.
  11. That is exactly right. NO..we are good. Please folks...there is nothing for anybody to feel guilty about. All is well. LOL...that does sound funny now doesn't it. In the first auction I posted, shipped was broken out. Nope...NOBODY owes me more. Thanks for asking though.
  12. I bid it to a little over $500.00. Salvage title so I was just going to part it out. I was outbid and it just wasn't worth any more to me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280213081671&rd=1
  13. No, the vent line is only for venting. You shouldn't be getting any gas out of it. Even if you were, it should run out under the bike near the rear shock where the rubber hoses are hanging down. You are SURE the supply line is connected good to the petcock or that you didn't pull the other end loose? I can't remember for sure but I think that the rubber line that connects to the petcock connects to a metal line under the tank. It's been a while since I had mine that far apart but I think that is right.
  14. Actually, it was your comment about "who said anything about riding two up" that I was referring to. I mean...after Lonna knocked you OUT.
  15. Yea Squid Boy...tell us more after you regain consciousness. If I were going for that style...I THINK it would have to be the FJR. Maybe even the new Concours.
  16. I get that all the time on my sales calls. They always ask...where you from? Near Cleveland, OH says me...they say..."not with THAT accent"..I say....."SOUTH CLEVELAND". Nope...they don't buy that either.
  17. OK folks...I screwed up in the listing. EVERYBODY who ordered, your patches have been mailed and you own NOTHING more. What happened is that in order to keep the price the same on Ebay as I was charging here, I listed them at $2.00 plus $1.00 shipping. That is $3.00, the same as I charge for them through the site. The problem is that I made a mistake and they were selling for $2.00 plus $1.00 shipping for the first the extras were FREE shipping. That's OK except that I don't have them priced that way. I have very little figured for shipping so if somebody was ordering more than one, they were getting a better deal than our folks here and I was kind of sticking it to myself. So, I have ended that listing and started it again at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300213514213 Price is now $3.00 and that includes shipping to the USA or Canada. Shipping anywhere else in the world is $1.00 extra. Sorry about my screw up. Like I said, anybody who had already ordered, your patches are in the mail and we are all good.
  18. I'm not sure. Check out this thread. You should send Eddie PM before ordering to make sure that he has them in stock. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1486
  19. Well...I also have to say that the Rocket III is getting close. If they would just add a fairing, I would have to give it a hard look.
  20. No problem. Read this for info on starting a new thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4733 For the maps, see this thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3920 That will show you the link to create the maps. Then go to UserCP and click on "Signature" to add it.
  21. I sincerely appreciate the kind words. My feelings about how a site should be run are very simple. I try to be friendly and helpful and lead by example. Keep it nice, keep it PG rated, try to NOT be overbearing. I know that I sometimes fail but that is how I try to run it. I don't like sites where the moderators, directors, officers, whatever seem to be always "in your face". Every so often I get an email through the "contact us" link that says something like "can you tell me who owns this site"? When that happens, I feel that I am doing a good job. I've been to a lot of sites that a question is asked and the answers are like "learn to do a search, that has been asked a hundred times". I cringe when I see such responses. Maybe it has been asked a hundred times but rather than such a condescending answer, it is nice to at least share some of the links where it has been discussed before. Some folks are new to discussion forums and even to computers and don't know how to do the searches and some of the other functions. I could absolutely not keep up with all of this if it weren't for the GREAT members that we have here. There was a time when I first started this site...and for a long time...that I tried to reply to every single message posted. I still read every message posted but usually don't have to reply unless I have something to add. You folks are great at helping the new members and sharing your knowledge. I am humbled by your presence here. Don
  22. That's easy for me. The only other full dresser out there with that great cruiser styling. The Ultra Classic.
  23. Hey...you are very welcome. I see your flag is now flying proudly.
  24. you wanna bet?
  25. Yea...like I want the media digging into MY past.
