  1. NICE. I have on on mine that Squidley had made up. I like the way yours is shaped though.
  2. Still plenty of patches available. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=645 I'm leaving for FL tomorrow for business though, it will be a few days before I get them mailed.
  3. Sounds like you have covered most of it. I think at this point, I would check the fuel pump.
  4. I'm not sure what you mean about the XM only going 4 hours. I did have one that was a portable but even it had an adapter for 12 volt power. My others were all hard wired. I now use Sirius and also an IPOD. Both have adapters so they are powered from the bike.
  5. It's not difficult and you need no special tools except for a lift. It is a bit time consuming though. You have to remove the bags and at least the right muffler. $200.00 sounds high to me but maybe if I was in business I would feel differently. I would guess that they would have at least a couple of hours of labor in it.
  6. Rick, You do not loose the auxillary input. It just unplugs inside the fairing and you connect their instead.
  7. Looks like the Justice Department has approved the merger but the FCC still has to do so. http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/industries/media/article/justice-department-gives-siriusxm-merger-ok_530362_15.html
  8. Send me your address and your preference of guardian bell or two patches. Nice picture. Geezzz Mr. Owl...you DO know how to "stick" a thread. I've done it though. Too late on the covered bridge. The winner has now designated a caboose for the next challenge. Heck...there is actually a caboose about 12 miles up the road from me that has been converted to a diner...if I could just get my bike out of the driveway I could win this one.
  9. If you are talking about their manual tire changer with the motorcycle attachment, I have one but have never used it. I probably will someday but as cheap as the Honda dealer hear will install them, I just haven't done so. It is pretty heavy and I think the price of shipping it from one member to another would make it impractical to do.
  10. OK folks...I can't say that I will provide a prize for ALL of these but for this first one, I will provide a VentureRider Guardian bell or two VentureRider patches (your choice) for the first one who posts a NEW picture of their bike by a covered bridge. As said earlier, it MUST be a picture taken since this was started. NOT a picture taken last year or any other time previous. hmmmm....if the picture is of your bike AND the Hooters girls, I will include the bell AND the patches.
  11. It works on any carburetted bike. This probably explains it better than I could. http://www.carbtune.com/colortune.html
  12. I've seen prices all over the place for this. We have a local Honda dealer that will install for free if you buy the tires from them or for $25.00 per tire if you bring in the wheels and tires. That is what I have always done in the past.
  13. Very nice job. I like it. I may do something similar with the Sirius. I'm not 100% happy with the equalizer that I installed. It works fine but no GREAT improvement.
  14. In my opinion, there is no better battery than the Odyssey. Don't know where the cheapest place to buy it is though. I bought mine from West Coast Batteries about 4 years ago. Now there is no place in it for the sensor and it wouldn't work anyway because the sensor is for the electrolyte level and the Odyssey is a dry cell. Here are the instructions to bypass the sensor. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  15. Hey...no reason to get all mushy about it. Glad it worked out for you. Now enjoy that bike.
  16. Yes, they do have caps on them.
  17. I'm not sure what you are looking at. Mine are definitely schrader valves.
  18. You know, I would like to see some of those things offered. I agree that the cassette is a total waste for most folks. I took mine out and put an amp/equalizer in its place. Fuel injection is a matter of opinion. I would like to see it but many here prefer the carbs. As for heated grips, I really don't care. I can add them easily enough..as well as a heated seat...If I wanted to. The bottom line though is that I knew exactly what I was getting when I bought my RSV and I still love it. Heck, when you think about all that you DO get for under $15,000 dollars if you shop around, you can't touch it with any other models. Buy a wing with the cb and etc. or an Ultra Classic or a BMW K1200 and any of those similarly equipped to the RSV are going to run well over $20,000.00. Even at that, only the Ultra has the style that would appeal to me at all. To each his or her own opinion but just paint me as a happy customer.
  19. HEY....nobody has beaten anybody. I think all the pics posted thus far have been old pics. They have to be new ones, taken since the challenge was made.
  20. It could be one or more of several things. Head bearings loose. If you have a lift, put the bike on the lift so that the front tire is just off the ground. Gently swing the front end so that it just rebounds off the stops to the right and/or the left. It should rebound a bit and then stop. If it swings back and forth, they are too loose. Tires. How many miles on the tires and what brand? If they have more than a few thousand miles on them, gently rub the palm of your hand along the edges and see if you can feel any cupping of the tread. Very common cause of what you are experiencing. A little air in the front forks might help but probably not. If you don't have a manual pump, you should get one. The Progressive manual pump is really the only thing suitable for adjusting the air in the front. Do not try using a standard air hose because you could easily blow out the seals. The Progressive has a zero loss chuck and allows you to get them aired up equally. You could try 3 or 4 pounds and see if it helps.
  21. Sorry...I sent the prize to those Hooters girls.
  22. I've got one of those welders. We bought it when we were building some water tanks. Never had a need yet to weld any of the ABS but I'm sure it would work great.
  23. I really do like this. Sounds like a LOT of fun and we should get some great pictures from it. I don't understand how the prizes or any fund raising works though. Even without that, I think it would be great.
  24. No, you do not want to hook it to 12 volts. What I did was to buy a wired 12 volt receptacle like an extension or something. You can get them at most any Walmart, Auto parts store, etc. I then connected it inside the fairing, plugged the XM power unit into it, put a couple of wraps of tape around it so that it wouldn't come unplugged.
  25. YEP....and I also looked at the box of my Colortune just to be sure.
