Yes, I've seen a number of them full of water. Rear seems to be the worse for some reason and left rear seem worse of all.

Yes, it will work. I have on on my '99 RSV. I just looked at the Yamaha parts diagrams. The assembly bolts to the existing license plate bracket. The part number for the bracket is the same on my '99 RSV and your '05 RSTD so there should be no problem. As Tartan Terror said, some folks support them further with an L bracket to the trunk because there have been some reports of the vibration eventually cracking the license bracket. I've had mine for about 6 years and have had no problems.

OK...for all of you who have ordered patches either through Ebay or direct to me from this site, they are in the mail. I've tried to get them out the same days that your orders have come in. Those ordered late Saturday and Sunday went in the mail this morning. One even went to Norway.

Windshield?????? what and where
Freebird replied to ventureblue's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Many of us prefer the Clearview shields. In my opinion, there is not a better shield made. They are NOT cheap though and I think that you have to buy directly from them. They often have "seconds" though that can save you quiet a lot of money and the reports that I've heard are that it is hard to find what makes them a "second".- 25 replies

I really don't know yet. I pulled the carbs and reset the floats and etc. but that was right before putting it away for the winter. Haven't really had an opportunity to test it yet.

I know where there is a paddle boat about 30 miles up the road on Lake Erie. Now if I just had time to get my bike out of the moth balls.

Feedback on Ebay is a sore spot for me. I don't like it that some sellers will not leave feedback until the buyer does. I look at it differently. Somebody buys something that I have for sale. They are sending me money and trusting me to send the item, trusting that I have described it properly, paid me in accordance with the terms. They have fulfilled their part of the deal and deserve positive feedback. I leave it immediately. I always hope that they will return the favor when they receive the item but I don't worry about it.

Absolutely beautiful Larry. I'm proud of you and very happy for you. I don't think I'm ready to do a trike yet but that sure makes me want to consider it.

I can of dropped the idea folks. I posted the price a few threads up. I would be willing to pay the price but the minimum order is 250 and I don't think there is any way that we will get that many people to buy them. Sorry.

I see that you also post on the MTA site from time to time. Are you are were you ever a member of the VTS (now the MTA)? Actually, I'm going to start another poll about that probably tomorrow morning. Just curious. They are a great group.

WELL...I don't think THAT was necessary. HEY....I kept the mower out of the pond all year last season. Now the lawn vacuum....that's another story.

Folks, I did not post the link here in an attempt to get you to buy patches. You can buy patches right here if you want them. Just paypal the amount of $3.00 per patch to dnelson@axcesswave.com If it's easier for you to use Ebay, that's OK too but is not why I did it. I did it because I've tried it before and a number of people actually found our club through that method. As for those of you who have purchased as off right now. All are in the mail. Even if you purchased and I got a note that said payment was coming via mail, I still mailed your patches. Thank you.

Lewis, Thank you so much for doing this. I know that it will mean a lot to the family. I hope that everybody here will visit the page and sign the guest book. If you can afford a small donation, please do so. If you can't, that is fine also. Just signing the book even without a donation will mean lot to the family.

I have one but I bought it back in '99 and they have changed them since then. Mine does not swoop back nor does it have the lip at the top like the new ones do. That being said, I honestly think that they made the best shield on the market. A LOT of our members here use them and I think that most everybody is very pleased. I have the extra large one on my bike and I do have to look through it. I like it though.

That is exactly right. NO..we are good. Please folks...there is nothing for anybody to feel guilty about. All is well. LOL...that does sound funny now doesn't it. In the first auction I posted, shipped was broken out. Nope...NOBODY owes me more. Thanks for asking though.

I bid it to a little over $500.00. Salvage title so I was just going to part it out. I was outbid and it just wasn't worth any more to me. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=018&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=280213081671&rd=1

No, the vent line is only for venting. You shouldn't be getting any gas out of it. Even if you were, it should run out under the bike near the rear shock where the rubber hoses are hanging down. You are SURE the supply line is connected good to the petcock or that you didn't pull the other end loose? I can't remember for sure but I think that the rubber line that connects to the petcock connects to a metal line under the tank. It's been a while since I had mine that far apart but I think that is right.

Yea Squid Boy...tell us more after you regain consciousness. If I were going for that style...I THINK it would have to be the FJR. Maybe even the new Concours.

I get that all the time on my sales calls. They always ask...where you from? Near Cleveland, OH says me...they say..."not with THAT accent"..I say....."SOUTH CLEVELAND". Nope...they don't buy that either.

OK folks...I screwed up in the listing. EVERYBODY who ordered, your patches have been mailed and you own NOTHING more. What happened is that in order to keep the price the same on Ebay as I was charging here, I listed them at $2.00 plus $1.00 shipping. That is $3.00, the same as I charge for them through the site. The problem is that I made a mistake and they were selling for $2.00 plus $1.00 shipping for the first the extras were FREE shipping. That's OK except that I don't have them priced that way. I have very little figured for shipping so if somebody was ordering more than one, they were getting a better deal than our folks here and I was kind of sticking it to myself. So, I have ended that listing and started it again at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300213514213 Price is now $3.00 and that includes shipping to the USA or Canada. Shipping anywhere else in the world is $1.00 extra. Sorry about my screw up. Like I said, anybody who had already ordered, your patches are in the mail and we are all good.
