  1. I finally made it to Minnesota and have to say that I would be just fine going back home now. They don't know that winter is OVER. Got to the airport yesterday and found that my flight was not just delayed, but canceled. Ended up going back home and got a flight out at 6:30 this morning. Made it to our office in Cannon Falls around 10:30 this morning. Wish I had time to visit with Mr. Owl and Juggler and others in the area but my trips here are usually all business. If there are any members right near Cannon Falls I would be happy to meet for dinner or whatever one evening. Heading back home on Friday.
  2. No, there's not. I added a feature like that once but it really screwed up the readability of the forum so I removed it.
  3. They do have a lean sensor...but it has nothing to do with the turn signals.
  4. I see posts all the time about shopping for insurance. I know that it varies greatly by location, driving record, many other things. I'm just curious about who pays the very least. Whether it be only liability or whatever. I just paid mine online this morning. I've never carried anything but liability on my RSV since the day I bought it. I pay $99.00 per year through Progressive. Anybody paying less? I'll bet there is.
  5. Yes, still valid but unfortunately they are USA only at this time.
  6. Heck...she's a GREAT cook. I hadn't even thought about that. Maybe I'll try to get her back home.
  7. I've had my passport for years. I renewed it about 6 years ago so it's still good for another 4 years. My wife doesn't have hers yet. My question is: If we get into Canada but on the way back, she isn't allowed to re-enter the USA and I have to leave her there, do any of you know any eligible nice looking ladies in the USA that might be interested in a worn out old man?
  8. Very nice Gene. That will look fantastic in any type of parade or escort service.
  9. Folks...it appears that the write-up on the Star Washer problem got deleted at some point. Does anybody have a copy of it or willing to write it up again?
  10. I think that is a beautiful place but it looks seriously overpriced to me. I don't know about land values in that area though. It could be a bargain and I wouldn't know it.
  11. I've got one of the original Clearview shields...without the lip at the top. I've had it since 1999 and it's a great shield. At that time, they did not offer the vent but I installed my own Goldwing style vent. A couple of years ago, the Squid man added a couple of the round style vents on each side of my wing vent. I actually like the round vents better. When I have to replace my shield, I will order it with no vent and add the round ones.
  12. I think that may be the official answer but I do know of several riders who have had it replaced more than once under warranty. I would pursue it. I would also mention that it is not always the clutch basket that causes the whine. The clutch basket causes more of a high pitched chirping sound. There have been many cases of a whine being caused by problems in the rear end.

You can also tell if they are both right side by the indentions near the axle bolts. They will work but there are indentions on the mufflers that allow clearance between the mufflers and the axle bolts. The clearance is not an issue on the RSV but you will see it on the outside of the muffler where it should be on the inside, towards the axle.
  14. OH...and I would also be very suspicious of that 4,000 and something miles. Being a police bike, I would be suspect that it has rolled over the 100,000 mark.
  15. Well...for one thing the model they have listed is XV13DS-L. That is a 1300 and the '84 was a 1200cc. Also it has the larger saddlebags and trunk. So...based on the trunk and the bags...it is an '86 or newer.
  16. They sure don't know what they are talking about. That is NOT an '84.
  17. I don't see how the fins would fit. At the very least it would require some drilling and tapping for the bolts but I also think it would take some machining on the heads. As for the covers, I saw this question yesterday also but am not sure enough about what I THINK is the answer. I THINK the answer is no but only because I remember this being discussed long ago and thought that was the answer. I've never tried it myself.
  18. Folks, we have a new member in San Bernardino that could use some assistance. He will probably post but is new to forums and etc. His username is CaptainDave and he rides an '87 Venture. I guess he has some questions about his bike. If any of you are in the area and could contact him via email, I'm sure he would appreciate it.
  19. According to the wiring diagram, the brown/w wire and black wire go to the Emergency Stop Switch.
  20. Welcome back Falko and thanks for the new link. I still have you listed in our links page but the link was no longer correct. I just updated it.
  21. From what you say, I assume that the new battery does have a hole for the sensor? If that is the case and the sensor is installed in the battery, you might try pulling it out and cleaning it. Also check the ground for the sensor.
  22. Gary, if that is true, then yours are different than everybody else's. I've never seen any that are voice actuated on the RSV.
  23. Yes, that is normal. Some of us have added a Mic-Mute. I love mine. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=992
  24. There are several of us here who run the Commanders. I've had very good results with them.
  25. For those of you who have taken advantage of this offer, remember that you have to go back and "ACCPEPT" the $25.00 payment before it is credited. You should get an email telling you that the payment has been made. Just go back and click on the "Accept" link beside the payment.
