We were having some problems last night. I was working on the server and it went down a couple of times and I think some people gave up and went to bed. At one time last night, we had 98 members on line and some guests.

Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, Western PA and Western NY. In Kentucky I get all the way to the Tennessee line and about as far west as Somerset. NY top to bottom but only east as far as around Rochester. PA top to bottom as far east as State College.

I've heard others report the same thing. I think it's sour grapes on their part because you didn't buy from them. I don't suppose you can do anything about it though. I would certainly mount my own in that case. There is a Honda dealer close to me that never says a word about where I buy the tires. They charge $25.00 a tire if I bring the wheels and tires in. Fair enough I think.

Modem??? They still make those?

I would love to but am on the road again. Maybe this weekend.

Tartan...do you have any pics of it mounted on your bike? Lot's of stuff there I don't need though. I see the one in your pic gallery but that's not the same thing is it?
-
I used to have my XM mounted there and really liked it. I put a Baron's tach in that location though so had to come up with a different solution.
-
No, not yet. I had a XM Roadie on mine but switched to Sirius over the winter. Was looking at it this weekend trying to determine how I am going to mount it. It will be different from the XM.

Thanks....we'll see how it does now. It's the Mysql variables and etc. that are kicking my butt. I'm weak in that area. Made some changes and we'll see how it does tomorrow when it's loaded up again. I may call on you if there is still a problem. Just a note, the server never did crash tonight. It was just me tweaking on and messing with things that caused any issues.

Sorry, I have all signatures turned off right now while I try to trouble shoot a high memory issue.

Congrats to you. I hope you love it, they are beautiful bikes and Harley has done some nice things the last few years. You are still invited to my house on the 7th. Would love to see it.

When was that? And what Group page? I hope you didn't get it just now.
-
Shouldn't be. It is actually hosted on a different server.
-
Yes, I'm turning off various things trying to determine what is causing the high memory usage. It takes overhead to sort the names so trying that also.
-
Yes, I"m working on it. Our memory usage is high and I'm really trying to figure out WHY????

Most of you missed it but SOME...actually a lot...were online. I was doing another software upgrade and uploaded the files into the wrong folders and crashed the site completely. BUT...I HAD made a backup and got it back up quickly.

Yesterday I upgraded our classifieds software to the latest version. To be honest, I don't know why I wasted my time because there were very few new features added and none that I felt are really needed. I had hoped to see things like "email to a friend" and etc. but it was not to be. I had also hoped that the accuracy of the zip code functions would be improved but that does not appear to be the case either. One thing I did do was add two new fields. One for city and one for state. If people use those it will help when the zip codes are off. I also move or deleted a lot of ads from the first gen venture category. That area is supposed to be for complete bikes, not parts. There is a separate category for first gen parts. Keeping the ads in the correct categories will make it much easier for folks to find what they are looking for. Some folks had listed their parts in both places. I started out trying to see which ones were listed in both sections and then deleting the double entries and then moving the ones that were not listed in the correct category but that was taking way too much time. I finally just deleted the ones that were in the wrong place. Sorry for the inconvenience but if you had parts listed in the First Gen Bikes category, you will need to relist your items.

That's kind of been my thought also. Heck...I bought this thing but every time I get ready to install new tires, I end up taking the rims to the local Honda shop. They charge me $25.00 per wheel to mount and balance and I figure that is reasonable enough and saves me a LOT of time and effort.
-
I sure like the looks of this thing but don't have $900.00 to spend on it. I do have the cheap Harbor Freight model that I have never used. I think I've bought tires 3 times since getting it and always end up getting lazy and taking the rims to a local shop to have them mounted. Part of the problem is that I haven't take the time to bolt down the changer. I really like this hitch mount setup and may look at building some sort of adapter like that for mine. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-tires/motorcycle-tire-changer/

Jeff pretty much nailed it. I don't know of any fix for the cruise control and I know of no CD player that will fit in that space. Most of us use MP3 players anyway. As for the cassette door, if you push lightly right in the center it usually works well.

Sounds nice to me. I remember when I used to ride a motorcycle to work when I worked nights at a power plant in Texas. In the spring and the fall, it was a nice ride but when you went through those bottoms, the temps would drop as you describe and would be quiet chilly for a few minutes.

As far as I know, there is no actual jet kit for the RSV. You have to buy the individual jets. The one you see is for the Royal Stars.
