Iowa Guy, I had the same problem. Placed the order and then about a week later got the email telling me that they didn't have the parts. I only need the small square covers that cover the screw on the side covers. Let me know if you get the parts this time. Don

No, I don't know of anything that would prevent them in regards to blockers and etc. If you do have everything wired correctly, I would wonder about the impedance of the microphones that you are trying to use. Here is a link to the "pin out" diagrams. May be the same one that you got but just to be sure. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=499

No, I'm sorry to say that it did not. Just too expensive for me to pursue.

Also folks, please remember, the primary purpose of the Photobucket account is for pictures of our rallies and meets and eats. It is not really intended for personal pictures, our bikes, etc. That is really what the vBPicGallery is for.

It's the valve springs that bother me also. That is why I have mine at 7500. Dyna recommends no higher than that...in fact...it may be 7250 that the recommend. They say to go no higher unless you install the VMAX springs. I think I'll just play it safe.

Folks, Buddy Rich is working on cleaning up our Photobucket account because it has really gotten hard to find things. He is trying to organize it by years and then by events and then by contributor. We have also created an "Upload Here" folder. That is the folder that you will use to upload all your pictures. You can create your albums in that folder just as you do now but it will make it easier for us to them move then to the appropriate year and event to keep things better organized as we move forward. Just wanted to give you a heads up so that you would know what is going on if you go there. If you would also use the upload folder for your new albums that would be great. I'm looking at a way to disable uploading to the root and etc. without making it too difficult for everybody.

I agree and would have said it pretty much the same way.

I'm not crazy about the look, not really a fan of the tapered tips but I found some other pictures and it looks like they don't use those tips on the ones for the FLH and FLT models. Those should adapt easily to our RSV just as the Road Kings do. I found a short discussion here about them: http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/v-twin-forum-general-harley-talk/89959-peacemaker-exhaust-tuning-experience-question.html I actually like the idea. I tried something similar with stock RSV mufflers back in '99 just after I bought mine but it was a manual modification and didn't sound good. I may actually try these someday when I have an extra $600.00 laying around.

Are you talking about the passenger backrest or a rider's backrest? If you are looking for a rider's backrest, check out http://www.utpr.com

Let's not turn this into a gun thread. We've had enough of those here and no more are needed. Enough already.

One other thing, pull the gas tank and look at the top of the carbs. Make sure that the boots are seated properly on top. I had a similar problem and one of the things that I found was that the carbs were sucking air at the top due to the boots not being down on the top of the carbs. Also, do NOT overtighten them if that is the case. After much struggling trying to get them to stay on, I discovered that if you get the clamps too tight, it will force them off again. Otherwise, I would be looking or a possible bad coil. -
I spoke to my wife a few minutes ago and she told me that the VentureRider Guardian Bells have arrived. I will be getting them shipped either Friday or Saturday. Still plenty of extras for any of you who might want one or more. See the VentureRider Merchandise topic area for pictures and ordering info.

It's yours. I'm out of town right now but will get it in the mail this weekend. -
I agree 100%. I'm sure that Metzler will claim that they were under inflated, over inflated, whatever. I know that running with improper inflation will shorten the life of the tire but we consistently hear about this issue with those tires and seldom, if EVER, hear about any other brands throwing chunks. There is no excuse for it, it has been going on for several years, and they should be taken off the market in my opinion. I ran Metzler ML2s on my Harley and loved those tires but I'll not be putting any on the RSV.

I use 640 x 480 for pretty much anything that I upload.

Hey folks, I have one off an '84 that I parted out. It looks like somebody hit it with a soldering iron before and didn't do a very good job. I don't know if it's any good or not but I'll give it to the first person who asks for it. -
I found a place once where they were posted online but then were removed. The owner of the site had a note posted that said Yamaha had demanded that they be removed. Have never found another place to get them.

No reason why they shouldn't.

Hey...thanks very much for the input but this one is over with. The rally is being held at "The Hub" in Arkansas.
-
hmmmm.....taking your hands off the bars? I've NEVER heard of such a thing.
-
Yes there is. They may still be inside the stock mufflers though. They are a very thin gray material and mine have usually stayed in the mufflers when I remove them.

The bike looks great Dan. Really happy to see you riding a Venture again. I know it's been way too long.

Sounds like a GREAT time by all. I am sincerely sorry that I missed this one. It just wasn't in the cards for me this year. I wish I could make them all.
