  1. One thing you can do it go to "members list", "full list" and then on the right side you will see a Search Box. Just below it is a link that says "advanced". Click on "advanced" and then you can search by country.
  2. LOL....that was good the way you told it. Actually had me going for a few moments. I've seen it before presented as a letter to Dear Abby.
  3. I just added Maintenance Day to the calendar. Just click on the "Calendar" link in the lower menu bar at the top of the page. Go to May 30th, 2009 and you can register there.
  4. I think they did last year. If I'm not mistaken, Lonna set it up. Maybe she'll see this and reply with the details. If not, I'll try to get with them in the next few days. Don't remember how many rooms we blocked last year.
  5. You'll meet no strangers. This is a great group of folks and you'll feel like you've known them for years. Look forward to meeting you.
  6. LOL....I'll bet you have been "innocent" since you were two years old.
  7. I finally got around to discussing it with my wife and May 30th is now confirmed. I will be adding the new date to the countdown page soon.
  8. This one may need a bit of tinkering. He's asking $800.00 for it though and it may be fun to mess with. It does turn over but don't know if it will start.
  9. One of us has a bad calendar. According to mine, this will be the weekend following Memorial Day.
  10. I paid $209.9 outside of Lima, OH yesterday. Still $229.9 here in Oberlin though.

I'll probably ride around the yard...a lot of times...vacuuming leaves.
  12. Anybody here know anything about Indian motorcycles? I've found an old one that needs a LOT of work. It's a small one, probably manufactured by Royal Enfield and badged for Indian. He's not sure what size it is. He said maybe 350cc but I'm thinking maybe 500cc. I haven't seen it in person, only these very bad photos. The vin number is vin#e11512147 1e513 Not sure if the last part of that number is actually part of the vin or not. Year model is 1956
  13. OK folks, I have disabled the social groups for now. That does mean that we can't continue to discuss it if you wish to. It is really up to the members and doesn't make a lot of difference toe me one way or the other. If we DO have them though, please understand that the same rules apply there as they do here. I'm talking to YOU Juggler.
  14. OK folks...just pulling a date out of thin air...I'm thinking May 30th for Freebird's Maintenance Day. Anybody know of any major conflicts. I'm not talking about PERSONAL conflicts..there will be those with somebody regardless of what day I pick.
  15. It happens automatically. I don't remember for sure but I think if a post gets 20 replies or 200 views, it automatically turns red. Those numbers can be adjusted and probably should be higher since this board is so active but I've just never paid much attention to it.
  16. Good points and I can't honestly disagree with you. That really hurts me too because I ENJOY disagreeing with you. From the responses so far, they will probably be going away.
  17. Previous International Rallies have run Monday or Tuesday - Friday. Actually Thursday night has been the dinner and people were pulling out on Friday morning.
  18. Yea...and with ice cream breaks for this bunch...we are talking MONTHS here. My wife and I did do a trip a few years ago. A little over 6,000 miles. We were gone for either 13 or 15 days, I don't remember for sure, but almost a week of that time was spent at the destination. So....I could see doing this trip in a couple of weeks if just doing it was all that mattered. Taking your time and enjoying it fully would require quite a bit longer of course.
  19. That's right...just KISS up to 'em. See if I ever have YOUR back....
  20. I knew that this thread would probably turn political. Now we are already going down the road of gun ownership, socialism, etc. Let's please not do that.
  21. Very interesting. I would love to do that but don't think I would have the time off. A quick mapping on Microsoft Streets puts it at about 7,230 miles from Miami to San Diego, to Seattle to Maine. A total of 9.239 miles if I route you back to the Dallas area. I would think you will need at least a week.
  22. How so? and this is an honest question. I appreciate your feedback. The Social Groups ARE open to all, not hidden areas. I'm not saying that you aren't correct, just wondering upon what that opinion is based.
  23. OK folks, some of you are aware that with one the upgrades a while back, a new feature called "Social Groups" was added. These are like little mini-forums that are not publicly displayed on the main site. They were very poorly implemented in my opinion. The biggest problem is that there is no way to be notified of new posts to a social group that you are a member of. If you don't check them on a regular basis, it is easy to forget about them. The other problem is that the discussions are not "threaded" as they are in the forum and that makes it hard to have any continuity on a particular subject. There is a new software upgrade that will be ready soon. It is in "beta" right now which means that it is being tested and any major bugs are being worked out. Some sites are already using it and it seems to be stable now but I'll wait a while before installing it. Upgrading the software here is a major pain as I have a lot of customizations that have to be re-applied when I do an upgrade. The REAL question I have is do we even WANT to continue with the social groups. I've had mixed feelings about them from the beginning. On one hand, it is a good place for folks with a common interest that really doesn't warrant a specific topic area in the main forum to exchange ideas, discussion, etc. One example is the "Biker's/Musicians" social forum. This site is not about musicians but we have a number of folks here who play guitar, banjo, drums...even tuba that enjoy talking about their music, gigs, etc. The social group is a great place for them to do that. On the other hand, I think that too many social groups can distract from the family atmosphere that we have here. If enough folks take their discussions to the social groups then the forum could become pretty slow. I prefer that most discussion take place here in the open so that we can all participate. So, those are my thoughts. What are yours?
  24. LOL....I guess some folks are just color blind. Heck....there is SOMEBODY here who says that my bike is GREEN.
  25. I think they show up if you click on any topic area and then scroll down. Not if you are already into a specific thread but just the topic area...such as "Watering Hole" and etc.
