Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was putting you down. I guess that if there was somebody that I truly wanted to have my business but pricing was an issue, I suppose it would make sense. for example, if for some reason I WANTED to give all my business to Roush (or anybody else) but found he was high, then yes, I suppose I could ask him to match the price. Since I have no particular reason to give them my business though, I see no reason to go to the trouble of asking them to match a price when I can simply click and order from a place that is already offering that price. The only time I would consider doing that would be if I really wanted to award them my business, for example, if they happened to be a supporter of our club.

There are a few. Seems to work OK with IE but not with Firefox. I haven't looked into why that is. I personally never use them. ALT-S Submit (Front-end and Control Panel) ALT-P Preview ALT-1 Forum Home ALT-2 New Posts ALT-3 Toggles Print View ALT-4 Search ALT-5 FAQ In addition the WYSIWYG editor inherits all the standard editing shortcut keys like CTRL-B for bold, CTRL-I for italic and so forth.

I seem to be the bearer of not so good news lately!
Freebird replied to sarges46's topic in Watering Hole
Really sorry to hear this news. Sounds like they got him to the hospital in good time though. Thanks so much for letting us know and we'll sure keep him in our prayers. Of course we would appreciate the updates. -
Gary, You know you are always welcome. That is your spot my friend.

No, I can promise you that the Michelin was NOT the original tire so there is no way of really knowing how many miles you got out of it. You know that it is at least around 11,000 and even that isn't terrible.

Thanks for the reminder. HIDE MOWER KEYS

Lot's of threads here about tires. Do a search for tires and you'll be able to read for hours. Short answer though, most...but not everybody....here will recommend the Avon Venom. In my opinion, very close second would be the Michelin Commander. Dunlop Elite 3 also getting good reports but just not that many have tried it yet.

OK...I have to be careful how I say this or it's going to sound really bad. I have no problem setting up a can for St. Judes. BUT...I think we have to be careful because I worry sometimes that we ask our members too often to donate. We have some very generous folks here and I fear that some just don't know how to say "sorry, I would love to but money is a bit tight right now". I was talked last year..may have been the year before...into putting out a donation can to help with the food and etc. That has been a life saver for me as the cost of this little one day (yea right) gathering has grown to well over a thousand bucks by the time it's all done. With your generous donations, I have managed to pretty much break even on expenses and I sincerely appreciate that. So I'm a bit leary of putting out yet another donation can. Not saying we can't do it but if so, I want people to PLEASE understand that NOBODY IS WATCHING...it's up to YOU!

But WHY do that? If Roush wants to earn the business, let them so their searches and price accordingly. I never understood this price matching stuff. Why go through all the trouble to get a company to match a price...it's easier just to buy it from the person who HAS the best price.

Because Swifty...if you find me and end up here...I want to at LEAST know you had to work at it.
-
Now see...how hard was that? Tell Yamaha to give me a call and we'll have a G3 out by next week.
-
Just doesn't work for me...sorry. Just put the power train in the current second gen style and I'll be very happy. Thank you...Thank you very much.

If you just hold your mouse cursor over the flag, the state abbreviation will pop up.

No problem. Wish I could have done more.

Absolutely. No problem at all. Besides....the pond monster is making noises...I know he's hungry and waiting.

Nice job. I think it turned out just great. Now when you get ready to make some more, there are a few things that my bike needs.

The same way you posted this question. Just choose the topic area...example: First Gen Tech Talk, Second Gen Tech talk, etc. Tech libraries are "read only". That may have been why you didn't see a new thread button.

Marcy, Maintenance Day is a little get together that I started at my house several years ago. Everybody here is invited. We just do minor maintenance on the bikes, help each other install accessories, whatever. I either cook or cater the food....probably cater from now on as it was MUCH easier. If is held at my house in Oberlin, OH and this year will be on June 6th. Hope you can join us.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to help. My pledge/donation will be made as soon as I finish typing this and get to the page. Good luck and I hope you reach your goal.

Good luck to you also. So far, so good here. It's been 6 days now. It gets a bit easier each day but there are also those moments each day when the urge is pretty strong. Good luck with the Chantix. I know it has worked for a lot of people but I tried it about 6 months ago and just couldn't handle it. We are all different and for me, I decided that cold turkey was the only way. Read the warnings on the Chantix and stop taking it if you are one of the few who have negative effects from it.

I don't find it to be particularly strange. Yes, I ride a Japanese motorcycle. I rode a Harley just prior to the RSV. I liked the Harley also. I wanted a new bike, took a lot of things into consideration and ended up buying the RSV. I wish it were USA made but some other factors overcame that issue. Same as with anything I purchase. I appreciate knowing where I can buy USA made products and the fact that they are made in the USA carries quiet a bit of weight. It is not the ONLY determining factor though.

I only know of one Avon that will fit our bikes. Same with most brands though I think there are a couple of Dunlops that work. I too am running the Avons right now and have been very pleased with them. My previous tire was the Michelin Commander. It was a very good tire also and I had no real complaints with it. The minor complaint with the Michelin is that it did howl just a bit in the long sweeping curves. The Avons are very quiet so if everything else turns out to be equal, I will stick with them. I THINK...haven't tried the Dunlop Elite 3 yet.....hmmmmmmmm

RETIRED????? Heck...Now I don't even feel sorry for you. No harm...No fowl. Look forward to meeting you at Maintenance Day.

Recommended Tie Down Procedure?

Here are some pictures of mine when I moved from Texas to Ohio. Seems like a LONG time ago. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7732&highlight=Trailering -
Dick, Come on now my friend and meet us half way. It is not an issue of space or bandwidth. We also don't mind answering questions that have been asked many times before. There are some members who don't know how to properly use the search function or computers in general and we are always willing to help however we can. BUT...to say that you just don't want to because you are too busy and need to make some money? That's not really very fair to all the good folks here who would like to help you. The person who may have the best answer for any particular question may have already answered it. He or she may be a terrible typist who spent 30 minutes typing with one finger to answer somebodies question. It is POSSIBLE that he is trying to make a few bucks to feed his family also but he took the time to help a fellow member so PLEASE....if you don't want to bother doing a search that's fine, but please don't get upset when somebody suggests that your answer may already be here. Now if you want to, you can make it to my house for Maintenance Day in June. I live in Ohio also and you can walk around and do a tire survey. Hope you can make it.
