Only down to 23 here this morning but snowing like crazy. We already have about 6" of new snow on top of the 12-16 that we already had. Schools have been closed today, not a usual thing around here. Still coming down hard.

LUSBOY rides a RSV. If you've checked all the connections and verified power then I would say yes, time for a trip to the dealer. Be ready for a shock though, if I'm not mistaken, your bike will be out of warranty now and those parts are HIGH. If you find out what you need, there are a couple of online salvage yards that will have the part much cheaper. PinWall cycle salvage is one. There is a link to their Ebay store on the bottom right of the home page.

I've been running the Butler Mod on my bike for about 2 years now and I think it is something that all second gens should have. Great addition.

I understand what you are saying and appreciate the response. Right now though, the difference is more than a little bit. It would be great if I could install the electric coils and be able to switch back and forth between electric and propane for the backup to my heat pump. The house is pretty well insulated with good windows and doors also.

This would be a good solution. I've wondering if there is something like that that I can install and then be able to switch between propane and electric as necessary.

I really hope they don't do it. A chromed out VMax engine at 160 HP in a Second Gen styled RSV with ABS brakes? I HOPE not...I really can't afford a new bike right now and I would want one SO bad.

I moved this thread to our "Memorial" area so that it would not get lost.

I can't help you because I removed those inserts and installed them in my Flanders bars so I could retain the weights. Getting that insert out is very easy though. Here is a write-up I did if you haven't seen it. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11122

When I first moved to Ohio, satellite was my only choice for high speed so I went with it. I truly hated it. Speeds were very erratic and never really great. Much better than dial-up and if those were my only choices, I would still have the satellite. I have dsl now though and it is a million times better.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers also.

This honestly makes me feel sick. I will truly miss Darrell. Godspeed my friend. Sorry...I don't know what else to say at this time.

The ONLY place I have heard this has been from a handful of Amsoil distributors. Even the official Amsoil site doesn't make these allegations. So where are you finding proof of this?

I should have given more info in my first post. I already have an air source heat pump and it is great. I got a quote last year for putting in a Geo Thermal system and it was no cost effective. I now have a very high efficient propane furnace for backup to the heat pump when it is too cold for the heat pump to work. The problem is, for these extra cold winters like we are having this year, there are a LOT of days and nights when the system has to swap to the propane. Installing geo thermal would cost me about $10,000.00. Due to the high efficiency of my current system, payback would take about 12 years. Life expectancy on the geo thermal system is just a year or too longer than that so it just makes no sense. I have a forced air central system and was thinking of just replacing the propane backup furnace with electric. Based upon the current price of propane and electricity, it should be considerably cheaper and the initial cost shouldn't be very high. I'll just have to look into it a bit further. The only questions are will propane stay high and will my electricity stay low.

OK....I know that we have discussed various options for heating our homes but I have another question. Have any of you swapped from propane to electric heat? I know that at first, it seems like a dumb question but I've been doing some research on it and it's not so dumb as it may seem. There is a breaking point with the price of propane and the price of electricity where electricity becomes cheaper and I'm thinking I have passed that point. From what I have learned, when propane reaches $2.48 per gallon and if you are paying no more than .10 cents per KWH for electricity, then electricity becomes cheaper. I am now paying $2.50 per gallon for propane and my electricity is .07 cents per KWH so according to what I THINK I have learned, I would be better off switching to electricity. Any experts here who can show me where I've made a mistake?

Bluetooth Wireless set/communications
Freebird replied to thecount's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Well, I've only used the bluetooth on my phone a few times in the car. Never had any problem with it dropping out. I just installed the BuddyRich cable on the bike but we are a ways from being able to ride around here. I'm anxious to give it a try.- 34 replies

I agree. It is a shame that happened and I sincerely feel for you. I know how sick you must feel. BUT....any reputable body shop should be able to match the paint so that you won't be able to tell. I think your dealer is full of it.

My Corbin seat is all leather and I love it. Much cooler than vinyl.

Mobil 1 is absolutely a true Synthetic. This is another statement that some Amsoil distributors have tried to spread. This has come up here before and I did the research and posted the proof here that Mobil 1 is indeed a true synthetic. Sorry, I don't have time to find it again now but will later if I need to. That is why Mobil challenged Castrol for claiming that THEIR'S was a true synthetic.

Posting of new threads in the proper section of the forum
Freebird replied to KiteSquid's topic in Watering Hole
PLEASE folks....don't get all bent out of shape over this. We are not going to start fussing at people if they post in the wrong area. We are just going to try a bit harder to keep things organized and are simply asking you to please help. Nothing more than that. -
I don't know of any such diagrams except what is in the service manual. You can download that here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384
