  1. I agree. Talk to him first but if that doesn't work, file a complaint. If you used PayPal, you can file a dispute with them over the item not being as described and YES...if he described it as a four column and you got a two column, you got ripped off.
  2. That would be username Eddie.
  3. Eddie had his chromed and they turned out very nice.
  4. I don't know what your time frame is but I live in Oberlin, OH. I'll be having my annual VentureRider Maintenance Day on June 6th. There will be a LOT of bikes at my house that day. You would be welcome to take mine for a ride. Or....come on up before then if you want to. Weather is not GREAT for a test ride right now though.
  5. There is only charge if you want the key. The mobile version is free. I just ordered the key though. I think it's $5.00 well spent.
  6. I don't know where you have been looking for a hitch but they do show up on Ebay from time to time. Used one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories_Motorcycle-Parts-Accessories__83-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ1200-1200-Trailer-Hitch-Complete_W0QQitemZ160317097214QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQadiZ2863QQddiZ2811QQadnZMotorcycleQ20PartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item160317097214&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A543|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 These next two are a bit confusing. He shows them both as 84 and up but I THINK the first one may actually be for the '84 and the other for "86 and up. I'm not sure though. 7. Yes, it will work fine. It's not a PERFECT fit but close enough that if somebody hadn't tried it with both, they would not know. I used the short cable XM radio on my RSV after I switched to Sirrius and never had any problems.

    LOL...that was GREAT.
  9. And a few more.
  10. May as well add some pictures I guess. I have no idea how many bikes I have owned but it is a LOT. Wish I had pictures of all of them but I don't.
  11. Well, this way will be a pain to get all setup and working but once done, should pretty much be automatic and easy to maintain. It will take several hours over a few days to get it all setup I think but once done, I think it will work fairly well.
  12. That would work but the problem is, somebody has to constantly update it and then re-upload the latest version for the members to download. OK...I THINK I may have figured out a way to do it. I have been working on it and have come up with a way to add a custom form to be filled out. If I get it working right, there will be a new link in the menu bar to the forms. There will be a separate form for each state and province. The member will choose the form for their location and fill in the fields. When they submit the form, it will automatically be posted in a new Forum which will have threads for each of those states/provinces. The form will be automatically posted to the proper thread as a new post. Each new post will automatically have a poll attached to it so that others who have eaten there will be able to vote on the quality of the total experience. If this sounds like something that would work, then it is doable. It will take me a bit of time though to get it all done. By having each state/province as a separate thread, a member can print out the thread for whatever state/province they plan to visit or they can just print out individual posts if they wish. Does this sound like something that will work for everybody?
  13. I really need to give this some thoughts folks. What started out as a pretty simple project, like a new forum area or something, has turned into something entirely different. We are now talking about a database of restaurants, sortable by state/city, etc. with a rating system. Do you realize that there are entire websites based completely around what you want this simple little add on to do?
  14. That is a good question. I think I understand what you are getting at. You don't want to have to carry two separate subscriptions so would rather use a portable unit between the truck and bike. That makes perfect sense. I'm trying to remember how the XM antenna plugs into the factory radio with built in XM. I THINK it has a separate antenna input for the radio and if that is the case, then there should be no problem with what you want to do. You really just need to look at the back of your radio and see if the XM antenna is plugged in separately than the AM/FM antenna. I THINK it is but not 100% sure.
  15. You should also check with http://www.sierra-mc.com They sell J&M and are pretty much always cheaper than buying direct from J&M. They are great to deal with also.
  16. I don't think so. I saw a story on it a while back. Pretty cool.
  17. I took it on my RSV and had no problems at all. There is nothing better than knowing that you can do them on the bike that you ride every day.
  18. Sorry.....I forget that so many of our members are ... uh... elderly and sleep a lot.
  19. Well...my favorite of all time is my current RSV. I've owned it for almost 10 years now. Before the RSV, the longest I have ever owned any single bike has been about 1 year. That says a lot. My favorite enduro type bike was a an Yamaha XT500 Thumper. I THINK it was about an '86 or '87 model. My favorite out of my first 5 bikes was probably my Harley 250 Sprint. In spite of me probably pushing it as much as I rode it, I loved that old bike when I was 15 years old.
  20. You might try by starting here. The solders are often the culprit. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=493
  21. The confrontations are what we don't need. If anybody has a problem with anybody else, why do they feel that they need to have a public battle over it? If you or anybody else just feels that they absolutely must get in a confrontation, take it to email or whatever. This is not the place for it. PLEASE!
  22. I don't like it. It would pretty much totally block access to one side of the bike. I think a conventional lift or a table makes much more sense.
  23. So, how is this working out?
  24. Apparently some folks are going to simply refuse to make any attempt to abide by the few requests that we have here. Go back and read the first post and decide if you wish to remain a part of this group. If you wonder if I'm talking about you them I probably am.
  25. I think it would be a lot of fun. Sounds like a lot of work for you but heck...I don't mind that.
