  1. There is a picture of them posted in the VentureRider Merchandise section. Here is a link. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1486
  2. Yea...sorry about that. I wish you lived closer so that you could stop by. We would figure it out. Have you removed the seat and checked the connection under it? There is a black connector under the seat that has been know to come unplugged.
  3. Yes, they do.
  4. Actually, the intercom should work regardless of the stereo being on HS or SP. At least mine does. I use the external speakers most of the time but we still talk on the intercom.
  5. hmmmm...I wonder if Crash had installed the Mic-Mute on it. I can't remember. The Mic-Mute is a device that deactivates the microphones to decrease the wind noise when you aren't using them. If it is installed, you toggle the mics on and off by briefly pushing the CB push to talk switch. Just depress the push to talk switch quickly...less that 3 seconds I think it is to toggle them on and then you do the same thing to toggle them back off. It's a long shot...I don't know if he had installed one or not.
  6. Please go to the calendar and add your name if you plan to attend. Here is the link to the event on our calendar. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=337&day=2013-6-8&c=1 For those who don't know anything about Maintenance Day, I just added some information here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73841 EVERYBODY is welcome. It doesn't matter if you have been a member for 4 years or 4 days, we would love for you to join us.
  7. I don't think so, I think I had a setting wrong in the server setup.
  8. On the control pod, push the "Select" button until IC comes up on the display. Then use the rocker switch to turn the IC volume up to about 15. Make sure the rear volume control, on the left rear speaker pod, is turned up. Then just speak into the microphones, do NOT use the push to talk switch, that is only for the CB.
  9. Congrats to him and I'm envious. I took lessons about 20 years ago but never finished. It was much less expensive then but I had problems with an instructor who didn't bother to show up about half the time and I got frustrated and quit. Too expensive for me now but I sure wish I had finished.
  10. OK...but you still don't press the switch to use the Intercom. That is only for talking on the CB. To use the Intercom, just talk, the mic is always hot.
  11. Josh, What year is your bike? If it's a second gen ('99-present), you don't click anything to use the intercom. The push to talk button is only for the CB. Intercom is always hot. Make sure the volume is turned up on the rear and make sure the IC volume is turned up in the controller. I run mine on about 15. Don
  12. Man...I just HATE logical answers. I wish they offered it in a shorter version.
  13. In my opinion, disconnecting or plugging the AIS will have no effect at all on gas mileage. I have run many miles with it connected and then disconnected and never saw a difference in mileage.
  14. Sorry about the few minutes of downtime this morning. Seems that we exceeded our allotted bandwidth this month. I have increased it so we should be good for a long time now.
  15. Several years ago, I rebuilt the seat on the Harley FXRD that I owned at that time. I found that most of the foam was too soft. I bought one of those block of foam in the exercise department at Walmart that is used for doing stair step exercises. It was a very hard/dense foam and made a fantastic base. I then used a softer foam for an insert in it. It worked very well.
  16. There is no video but there are step by step instructions here: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=258 A video is not a bad idea. Maybe that is something that we can do in the near future.
  17. I haven't come to a final decision about that yet. I will seek all your input on that subject before I do anything.
  18. It's up to you. I have removed the monthly option but you can continue to use it until it expires if you wish. I would prefer the yearly method but if enough of you want the monthly option, I will add it back.
  19. Sailor, you may be looking in the wrong place. I did receive yours and you are marked paid.
  20. I got it corrected. I had already credited Noddy. Don't know how yours ended up two years. Thanks for letting me know.
  21. I just finished updating alll the profiles for those of you who have paid your VentureRider dues via PayPal OR mail. Please go to your UserCP and then scroll down until you see "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. It should show your paid subscription there. If you sent a check by mail and just recently sent it, then I may have not yet received it but I have entered all that I have received. I'm thinking in about two more weeks I will start making the changes that will restrict posting to subscribed members only. Thanks, Don
  22. John, I have some that I bought off Ebay a year or so ago just in case I ever needed one. PM me your address and I'll get one over nighted to you tomorrow. I don't know where the nearest FedX is. Will UPS overnight or second day be OK?
  23. Just wondering if anybody here has tried shortening the cable for the Zumo XM unit? I wish it was only about 12" long. Even in my car, I sit it on the dash right under the windshield mount for the unit. A 12" cable would be plenty.
  24. The CD player is made by Clarion. You could buy a brand new one from several online sources for around $120.00 at one time. I think it has been discontinued though. If I remember correctly, it is a C-Bus. I bought one years ago for about $125.00 with shipping included but only used it for a couple of months before getting rid of it and going to MP3. If I remember correctly, the stock radio is made by Clarion also.
  25. Great story and I agree with you completely. It's funny how quickly your life can change. It was only a few weeks ago that I, like most guys, thought I was pretty much bullet proof. Hopefully I have MANY more years left to bother all you fine folks but the truth is, none of us know for sure how long we have on this old earth. There really are some changes that I need to make in the way I eat, exercise, etc. but the fact is you just never know. It will be 6 months before I go back and all the test will be done again to determine if they were successful in treating the cancer but I don't intend to stop living and sit around worrying about it no more than I have to. Yes, I feel very blessed that they found this when they did. The prognosis could have been much worse.
