  1. So far, it's doing just fine. I really haven't put that many miles on it though. Probably no more than a couple of thousand. We really just haven't gotten to ride as much lately as we would like to. The big selling factor on this one is that fact that it is supposed to be VERY hard to scratch and I think it will take some time to see how well it does in that regard. No complaints at this time though.
  2. Quick software upgrade. All done now unless you guys see some things that I missed.
  3. I agree...640 x 480 and under 200,000 bytes.
  4. Sorry, we will need a bit more info about what kind of problem you are having. Where are you trying to upload them? To the forum, your UserCP album, the vBPicGallery? All work pretty much the same. In a post, just type your message and before submitting it, scroll down and click "Manage Attachments". Then just browse your computer and select the picture or pictures you wish to upload. The other areas work in a similar fashion. The important thing is to make sure your pictures are not too large. You need to re-size them to no larger than 640 x 480 and 200,000 bytes.
  5. I just can't imagine ANY VentureRider missing this one. We are going to have a GREAT time. Come on folks.....bite the bullet and get your registrations in. Let's make this the biggest and best ever. It is beautiful country to ride AND if you haven't made one of our rallies before, you have no idea how many new friends you will leave with.
  6. Hey, it's your bike and maybe I'm just too cautious but I set my Dyna on 7250. The instructions said something about keeping it to 7000 or 7250 unless you install heavier valve springs.
  7. I agree. If you damaged that passing light, it may have well skinned a wire and blew the fuse. All that I've ever seen came with an inline fuse.
  8. The part about them going out at 12:01 am is not exactly correct. That will depend on how you have your notifications setup in your UserCP. If you have it set for instant notification, you will get them when they are posted. Otherwise, I think Maineac has about the best solution. No, I don't think you can have them sent to two different emails. I've actually never tried it though.
  9. I don't remember what speed the rev limited kicks in but it is VERY noticeable. The bike will just fall on its face. I have a tach on mine and I'm thinking that it used to come in at around 6250 but I may be wrong. I now have a Dyno ignition module and it has an adjustable rev limiter. Mine is set on 7250 now. You might want to look and see if he has added the Dyno to your bike. You have to pull the battery and battery box to get to it. The old TCI would be black but the Dyno is red. Actually, you may be able to just use a flashlight and look down below the battery box and see it. You have to pull the battery and box to change it though. I hit it a number of times before I upgraded to the Dyno and never got the sensation that I was close to blowing the engine up. It came in too early for me.
  10. I know that I've heard that these things bring higher prices in Canada but that just sounds high to me. In the USA, you could find an '83 MUCH cheaper than that and you could pick up an '86-'90 for about that price or less with much lower miles. I really can't say if that is a good price in Canada or not because I'm just not up on the prices there.
  11. I don't know, that actually sounds like a pretty good price. The box will be fairly large so the shipping will be probably at LEAST $20.00. I don't know which seat it is but the pillow tops seem to be in fairly high demand, I've seen them bring much more than that.
  12. All you have to do is run a patch cable from the output of the Garmin to the AUX input on the face of the cassette player.

    If I

WOW...I wouldn't know where to start. Yours is probably at the top of my list though.
  14. OK...in your UserCP under "Edit Options"...you have deselected "Show Signatures", "Show Avatars", etc. You have to select those again if you want the signatures and etc. to show up.
  15. Boomer...I have no idea what you are talking about. I see your signature just fine. Do you not see it? As for the medals, they are recognition for various things. Click on VRAwards in the upper menu bar to see what they are.
  16. Did you notice that the red one is listed with a salvage title? I would want to know the details before jumping on it. Nice looking car though.
  17. From what I have read here, there is only one that is really worthwhile and it is the one from Buckeye Performance. http://www.buckeyeperformance.com
  18. Thanks...I just sent a donation.
  19. I like the smell of honey....I'm don't know about Molasses though.
  20. Good luck with it and I hope you get the results that you are looking for. I still don't think it's the jets. The only way it might be is that the previous owner had it re-jetted and they screwed it up.
  21. I'm going to come get you.
  22. I completely understand about those calls that don't get returned. Last Friday evening my wife, knowing that I am dead tired, told me that she wanted me to relax over the weekend and just do whatever I wanted to do. I told her that it was not possible for me to do whatever I wanted because Marisa Tomei had not returned my calls..... .....and that was when the fight started.
  23. I agree that the noise is much worse with the headsets on the mic hot. I have a mic-mute on my bike and when I kill the mics....everything gets a LOT quieter. The mic picks up and really attenuates any whine.
  24. That error usually occurs when the pictures are WAY too big. What size are they?
  25. I pretty much have to agree with V7Goose on this one. Unless you have made some pretty major changes to the air intakes and/or the exhaust, the jets are NOT what is causing your problem. I don't think even a change of the exhaust alone would cause the problems that you are seeing. Major air intake changes would be more likely. The fact is, if the bike is fairly close to stock, you are barking up the wrong tree and the only winner will be the mechanic who is charging you for the work.
