  1. It is possible that your bike is still under warranty though. I know it's an '03 model but it depends upon when it was purchased. The 5 year warranty starts at the purchase date, not the date it was manufactured.
  2. It was our honor to have you here and Eileen and I were truly happy that you accepted our invitation to stay with us for a couple of days. My only hope is that your visit can be longer next time.
  3. Are you talking about the old ones or the new ones? I think all the new ones are made in India. Don't now much about them other than that.
  4. Dave, Even if it has been posted before, we wouldn't have purposefully ignored you. At the very least somebody would have posted a link to the article. Sometimes when there are just a lot of posts, one gets overlooked. Sorry about that.
  5. I agree...he did some bonehead things but the guy was almost a musical genius. Sad that the turned out the way he did towards the end.
  6. Just a huge shout of thanks to Coveralls. They were already a gold member for their past donations to rallies but now they are not only offering two of their covers as prizes at our International Rally at the Hub but they are also offering a discount to any VentureRider member who wishes to order direct from them. See the topic area "Vendors who offer us Discounts" for details. You can see their products at their site but you must call in your order to obtain the discount. Their online system is not setup to calculate the discount. http://www.coveralls.biz/
  7. Great news from a Great company. Though already a "Gold Vendor" due their generous past donations, Coveralls is now offering a 10% discount to all VentureRider members. To obtain the discount, you must CALL your order in because their online system is not setup at this time to figure discounts. Just give them a call and mention that you are a VentureRider member to obtain your discount. They are a great company with a great product. http://www.coveralls.biz/
  8. They will basically look like the small patches. Black background with silver colored text and border.
  9. Yes, approximately the same size. About 3.5" x 2.75".
  10. Yes, I hope to get to that tomorrow night.
  11. It a forum topic area. Two under the watering hole.
  12. I've always liked the "domed" style decals and am thinking about ordering some of our logo. They would basically look like our small patches (Pictures of those in the VentureRider merchandise area) but these would be domed style decals that are UV stable and designed for outdoor use. Price will depend upon quantity but I'm shooting for about $4.00 each including postage within the USA and probably $4.50 to Canada. ONLY if enough of you are interested. Here is a picture of one for Buell...ours would NOT say Buell.
  13. I've owned 3 Ford Taurus's. I never had a moments trouble out of any of them. Put well over 100,000 miles on two of them. My son is driving one now, '96 model I think that belonged to my mother in law. It has about 85,000 miles on it and is really working out well for him. I have no preference to Ford and have owned more GM vehicles than Fords but the Taurus is a good car that would probably server you well for many miles.
  14. For performance, my top recommendation would be to add the VMAX rear. The second would probably the the Dyna ignition module. I don't think that changing the timing curve helps that much but setting the rev limiter to 7250 - 7500 allows you to really crank these things up, especially after you add the VMAX rear.
  15. So far, it's doing just fine. I really haven't put that many miles on it though. Probably no more than a couple of thousand. We really just haven't gotten to ride as much lately as we would like to. The big selling factor on this one is that fact that it is supposed to be VERY hard to scratch and I think it will take some time to see how well it does in that regard. No complaints at this time though.
  16. Quick software upgrade. All done now unless you guys see some things that I missed.
  17. I agree...640 x 480 and under 200,000 bytes.
  18. Sorry, we will need a bit more info about what kind of problem you are having. Where are you trying to upload them? To the forum, your UserCP album, the vBPicGallery? All work pretty much the same. In a post, just type your message and before submitting it, scroll down and click "Manage Attachments". Then just browse your computer and select the picture or pictures you wish to upload. The other areas work in a similar fashion. The important thing is to make sure your pictures are not too large. You need to re-size them to no larger than 640 x 480 and 200,000 bytes.
  19. I just can't imagine ANY VentureRider missing this one. We are going to have a GREAT time. Come on folks.....bite the bullet and get your registrations in. Let's make this the biggest and best ever. It is beautiful country to ride AND if you haven't made one of our rallies before, you have no idea how many new friends you will leave with.
  20. Hey, it's your bike and maybe I'm just too cautious but I set my Dyna on 7250. The instructions said something about keeping it to 7000 or 7250 unless you install heavier valve springs.
  21. I agree. If you damaged that passing light, it may have well skinned a wire and blew the fuse. All that I've ever seen came with an inline fuse.
  22. The part about them going out at 12:01 am is not exactly correct. That will depend on how you have your notifications setup in your UserCP. If you have it set for instant notification, you will get them when they are posted. Otherwise, I think Maineac has about the best solution. No, I don't think you can have them sent to two different emails. I've actually never tried it though.
  23. I don't remember what speed the rev limited kicks in but it is VERY noticeable. The bike will just fall on its face. I have a tach on mine and I'm thinking that it used to come in at around 6250 but I may be wrong. I now have a Dyno ignition module and it has an adjustable rev limiter. Mine is set on 7250 now. You might want to look and see if he has added the Dyno to your bike. You have to pull the battery and battery box to get to it. The old TCI would be black but the Dyno is red. Actually, you may be able to just use a flashlight and look down below the battery box and see it. You have to pull the battery and box to change it though. I hit it a number of times before I upgraded to the Dyno and never got the sensation that I was close to blowing the engine up. It came in too early for me.
  24. I know that I've heard that these things bring higher prices in Canada but that just sounds high to me. In the USA, you could find an '83 MUCH cheaper than that and you could pick up an '86-'90 for about that price or less with much lower miles. I really can't say if that is a good price in Canada or not because I'm just not up on the prices there.
  25. I don't know, that actually sounds like a pretty good price. The box will be fairly large so the shipping will be probably at LEAST $20.00. I don't know which seat it is but the pillow tops seem to be in fairly high demand, I've seen them bring much more than that.
