  1. No, square end on the shaft with a metal plate with a square hole. I checked to make sure it wasn't slipping. I've looked everywhere and not found one. Haven't found any kind of parts list or anything else for the pumps, only complete units. Yes, I still have it. Poured out and strained the oil when I changed the filter and saw nothing. I now that is not definitive but I think I would have seen SOMETHING. I thought about that but even not running, the left side just almost flops back and forth but the right side has pressure to moving it back and forth.
  2. Here is a link to the hydraulic setup. http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=snapper&mn=HZT21480BV+(82533)+48%22+21+HP+ZTR+Twin+Stick+Series+0&dn=10465 http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=snapper&mn=HZT21480BV+(82533)+48%22+21+HP+ZTR+Twin+Stick+Series+0&dn=10467
  3. http://store.wisesales.com/snapper-hzt21480bv-zero21480.html Possible but a lot of work. They are reversed. Looks like you would have to pull both, disassemble them and then reassemble them reversed out how they are.
  4. HEY....it's been two years since it went swimming.
  5. Thanks for the replies. I've tried bleeding it to no avail. The two pumps share a reservoir and filter and it tees off the filter for each side. There are bleed screws on each pump that you loosen then move the levers forward and backward slowly to bleed the air. I've done that an excessive number of times and it doesn't help. Both pumps share a common belt. There are pulleys under the more, one for each pump. One belt goes around the pulley, to the pulley on the motor. It appears to be tight and not slipping. I have not drained all the oil from the system. I guess I can do that and try to flush it out and re-fill. Not sure how to go about flushing it out though.
  6. OK....we have people here that know something about a lot of things so decided to see if there are any lawn mower experts. The mower is a Snapper zero turn. It uses Hydro-Gear pumps and motors for the drive. It is not an integrated transmission. There are two Hydro-Gear pumps, one for each side. The Hydro motors and not integrated into the pumps. There are hoses that go from the pumps to the motors. I was mowing a couple of weeks ago when suddenly the left lever seemed to lose pressure. It still works and I can use it but while you feel decent pressure on the right lever when you move it forward and backwards, the left lever has almost no feedback/pressure. It is also slow to respond. The left wheel does work in forward and reverse but doesn't seem to have much torque. On a long straight run, the steering seems to work OK but if I am turning on a hill or something, the left doesn't seem to have near enough torque. So far all I've done is change the Hydro filter and tried bleeding the system. Nothing has made any difference. Does it sound like a bad Hydro pump or the Hydro motor? Running or not running, the right side seems to have pressure when you move it back and forth but the left side has almost no resistance to moving. Also, whether it be the pump or the motor, can they be repaired? I tried looking up parts and/or exploded diagrams on line but all I've found is the complete units at about $450.00 each.
  7. I think it could still be the sidestand. It's been a long time since I have owned a first gen but I think that the sidestand actually activates a couple of different circuits. I THINK that there is a relay which will prevent the bike from starting that is different from the circuit that kills the bike. There are two sets of contacts on the sidestand switch if I'm not mistaken. The first thing I would try would be to bypass the switch and try to start it. Just because it kills the bike when you put it down does not necessarily mean that it is working properly.
  8. I recently added this information to the tech library. [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=355001#post355001]Thermostat Cross Reference - VentureRider.Org[/ame] I was later asked if these thermostats would also work in the second gen. I guess I could look up part numbers and etc. and try to figure it out but does anybody know right off hand if the first gen and second gen thermostats are the same?
  9. FANTASTIC...I truly enjoyed that. VERY WELL DONE! Condor...it's just that the software I use here to embed the videos directly into the posts sometimes has to convert them in order to play here. Otherwise, it would just be a link to the site where they are posted. Most don't have to be converted but some do.
  10. Yes, it was mailed yesterday. Sorry about the delay but I was out of town.
  11. Also, you told me in an email that your battery voltage is 11.8. That is low whether it's a new battery or not.
  12. For what its worth, I did not pull my radiator. I just removed the bolts so that I could move it forward just a bit.
  13. Sorry, I have an older set but they are for a open face helmet. Will not work with a flip up. Don
  14. LOL....I think Dan has NAILED this one.
  15. I don't think so. I just tried it and I had to click the login button but my username and password was already filled in. I just upgraded the chat software a day or two ago so you may have to do it the first time but it should save it after that. Anybody else?
  16. I can look in the admin panel at the different usergroups and see how many are in each group. So I just look at the supporting members group and it shows a total count. I don't think there is any place it can be seen here though.
  17. Some people love it....others just can't take it for long distances. I used to run the Khromewerks on mine but they really bothered Eileen and I on the long trips. It was especially bad when you got in the canyons and those pipes were reverberating off the canyon walls. WOW. I finally went back to stock about 3 years ago. I sometimes miss the Khromewerks when I'm just running around locally but sure don't miss them on the long hauls.
  18. I too bought mine off Ebay refurbished for about $90.00 I just looked though and don't see any of them now.
  19. I have the Hopnel tank bib and trunk bib on my '99 but I have something else in mind and would like to match that fabric. It is a basket weave vinyl material. Do any of you know where I might be able to find some of it?
  20. Glad you decided to join us Mike. If you cause too much of a ruckus, we'll just turn the volume down.
  21. LOL...I THINK I'll keep all the body parts that I can.
  22. OOPs...sorry...I think I saw in another post where you were going to the dark side but I had forgotten. I don't think bringing it to my house would help. I would have no problem taking the wheel off for you but I don't know anybody around here who would mount the CT for you. From what I've read about the pressure that some guys are having to use to get it to seat, I just don't want to do it. Sorry.
  23. No problem, if the situation comes up, I'll take care of it. The eye is doing OK for now. It's a waiting game at this point. I guess radiation continues to work for months and maybe even a couple of years. I can still see fine at this time but they keep telling me to not get my hopes up. I go back in about 4 months now to have all the tests repeated and will find out then what the state of the cancer is. They say that I could still lose vision in the eye at any time...even as long as a couple of years from now. I'm thankful for the results at this time though. The biggest danger now is that it hasn't and doesn't spread. This cancer is known to spread and usually ends up in the liver if it does. That will be a very bad situation but so far, no indication that it has done so. I have years of liver scans and etc. ahead of me but I'll deal with that as it comes. Not going to live my life in worry and fear.
  24. If you can get it to my house, I'll help you out this first time. It's really not a big deal.
  25. You may be looking at two different issues. It is common to get oil out of that vent hose if you overfill the crankcase. These bikes are very sensitive to be over filled. With the bike in the vertical position, NOT on the side stand, you want the oil about half way up in the sight glass. if you fill it to the top, you will get oil in the left air filter and out of that hose. As for the cowling cracking. That is an issue that Yamaha has covered under warranty many times. If the dealer or Yamaha tries to deny it, scream long and loud because they have replace many of them. Some think that it is caused by over tightening that middle screw. I'm not sure but I do know that they can break.
