OK folks, I have decided to "unstick" this thread. It has been at the top for almost 2 years and we just get too many threads stuck to the top. If you want to keep it active and up high, you will just need to POST to it. :

OK....thanks for the orders so far. Everybody has included their address to that is good. At this point, about 65 have been sold so there are plenty left at this time.

They are bad. The antennas on the '99 models were total junk. There is no set screw, they are a press fit and many have gotten loose just as yours have. It may seem OK right now but you will eventually start getting a squeal when you key the mic. That is because now that they are lose, you will start getting some corrosion where it is slipping off. You could clean it off but then it will get even more lose. Yamaha upgraded the antennas starting with the 2000 models. Many of us have replace those on the '99 with Firestiks or some other aftermarket brand.

It is a bit sad for me and for all here that know him to think about him being so far away. I do respect and admire him for what he is doing though and will pray for his success and safety. I can't even imagine how Mini must feel but I hope that the fact that she has such a HUGE family HERE....will help in some way. We will miss you while you are gone Jeff, you are one of the best.

My RSTD custom project (Caution, nekkidness inside)
Freebird replied to Sunman's topic in Watering Hole
That would be tuff for me...having no idea what they are doing. I hope you don't end up with a Mary Kay bike....but if you do, you would probably sell it to Muffin Man. I know you must be getting excited and we are looking forward to seeing the pictures. -
Does anybody here have the Utopia back rest ?
Freebird replied to Hummingbird's topic in Watering Hole
The only one I've seen that could be removed easily would be the Corbin seat with backrest. It has a screw that can be removed so that the backrest will just slide out. Just leave that screw out and it would work great. Corbins are expensive though and many people just don't like them because they are so hard. I LOVE mine. -
Muffler Ends For RSV
Freebird replied to Aussie Annie's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
There are none made for the stock RSV mufflers. I have seen some folks use the RSTD tips on them but it requires some drilling and tapping as the stock RSV mufflers are not designed to use them. Some of us have bought RSTD mufflers off Ebay and other places and use those. They are the same as the RSV mufflers except they have tips that can be turned out, down, etc. If you don't mind LOUD...Khromewerks does make a very nice set of mufflers with different tips available. OH...I do but it's not anything except my artwork that they reworked and sent back. It is not like a representation of the actual decal, just my artwork which is basically our logo as used on the small patch.

The CB antenna is SUPPOSED to be on the left side. If it's not, you SHOULD care. If they are not right, you have been lucky so far but it truly can destroy your CB radio and you will not like the repair bill. It takes about 3 minutes to unscrew them and swap sides. Why would anybody take the chance?

Sorry, can't post a picture until they arrive. Will do that when they get here if there are any unsold.

Brad and Lonna, I'm really sorry to hear the news but I think you should look at it as an opportunity. An opportunity to follow your dreams and find a place that makes you happy. Life is too short to settle for anything less. Good luck and let me know if there is anything I can do.

Here is their web page. You can find more info and pictures there also. Sure hope to see a LOT of you there. http://www.hubinfo.com/

If I hear banjos, I will NOT be "backing up".

I haven't had a problem with mine and have had to do nothing other than let it connect. All the contacts transferred automatically. I agree that it probably depends on the phone.

Yes, but that's the same thing as the Racing 4T, Mobil just renamed it.

It is hit and miss at Walmarts near me. A few have it but many don't. Some have a little section dedicated to motorcycle items and that is usually where you find it, not with the other oils. Some Walmarts around here don't even have a motorcycle section though.

OK folks, I have place the order for the domed decals. They will be the same size as the small patches, approximately 2.75" tall x 3.5" wide. They have already sent me a digital proof of the design and I have approved it. They have been shipped to me so I should have them soon and then be able to get them out to you pretty quickly. These are NOT just regular flat decals. They printed on a metallic silver vinyl so that the silver text and scroll work will have a metallic, somewhat chrome look. They are then domed with a clear poly that gives them somewhat of a 3D look. They will look great on the trunk of the bikes, your auto window, wherever you wish to use them. I'll post pictures as soon as I get them but I'm taking orders now to try and recoup some of my upfront costs. They are designed for outdoor use. I ordered 250 decals this time. If we end up needing more than that, I can order more later. I think these are going to be really sharp looking. I don't know WHEN I will be able to order more though. The price break came at 250 so if we are only 50, 100, etc. short...I will not order again until I think that there is demand for at least a couple of hundred. So...you can start ordering whenever you like. They will be $4.00 each and that includes shipping within in the USA or $4.50 each shipped to Canada. Payable via PayPal to dk_nelson@verizon.net NOTE there is an underscore between the dk and nelson. PLEASE make sure that you include your mailing address in your PayPal payment.

New shirts will be available soon. I sort of wanted to spruce up the logo just a bit and maybe add some color to it. Cliff has been working on it. What do you folks think of this version. It kind of expresses our worldwide focus.

Yea, Honda has made V4 engines for many years...off and on....I had a V45 and a V65 many years ago. They were and still are very good engines.

I know that Sears has them. Maybe just not the store you were in. I've also seen them at Home Depot and at Lowes. -
Need more power! (audio)
Freebird replied to FreezyRider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I do have the mic-mutes as well as the Buddy Rich cable on mine so if they ARE working properly, the volume should be fine.
