If that truly happens, and I'm not at all convinced that it will, then this will be my last Venture unless I buy a used one. I'm just not that excited about the Strat and if I go with an air cooled V-Twin, it would be an Ultra Classic.

Hard Up-Shifting (Clunky)
Freebird replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I've copied the pertinent information to the first gen tech library. -
This was sent to me by one of our members. Please follow this link for more details, I sent a message to grampagak too, just want to get the word out to try and help a fellow enthusist, sounds like law enforcement has not been a big help. *** URGENT-Search for Don-9/12/2009 *** Search Details "Donald Masters left Orofino, ID, Monday, August 31, headed for West Yellowstone and then on to Denver. He has not been seen or heard from since. We have reason to believe he may have gone missing Monday (he was due into Denver Wednesday). He was riding a black 2008 Goldwing, Colorado Plate #327-UTH." LOL.....I'm thinking about censoring myself.

Even that can be misleading. Even if the element is burned open, you should still read 220 volts. Only by lifting at least one of the wires can you tell if the element is burned open. If you lift both wires, POWER OFF, you should read continuity across the element. The only way to check it with power on would be to remove only ONE wire and see if the 110 volts to the wire still connected is traveling through the element to the terminal that now has no wire on it.

I can see that the corner isn't going to be big enough.

I think you need to go stand in the corner with Redneck.

Me thinks you are just again.

Just a little educational note about our classifieds section. When it is getting close to the time for your ad to expire, you get an email asking if you wish to renew the ad. There is a link to click if you item hasn't sold and you wish to renew it. There is another link to click if your item has sold or if you just don't want to relist it for whatever reason. That is ALL you do. If you wish to renew the ad and you click on the link, that automatically renews the ad. You don't click on the link and then have to go somewhere and do something else. You just click on the link and it is automatically renewed. I get a lot of emails from people telling me that they clicked the link to renew their ad but then couldn't find where to do it. There is nothing else to do. Just click the link.

Absolutely. I can marry you. The good part of me doing it is that if you ever want a divorce, it will be VERY simple.

I've been looking at one of these for my wife. Sam's club has them for $269.00. but most of the stores I've checked don't have them. What prices are you folks finding?

Gary, Like others have said, sorry you went down but it could have been a blessing in disguise. Hopefully the enlarged lymph nodes are nothing but if that is not the case, then it is probably good that they found them when they did. The Lord works in mysterious ways. My own cancer was discovered due to a totally unrelated event and it hopefully saved my life. I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

To be honest, it sounds cheap to me. I was self-employed for one year about 10 years ago and I paid about $1200.00 per month for myself, wife and son.

OK folks....I just did a software upgrade on the site. Please let me know if you see anything not working correctly. Thanks.

A "crest"? LOL...is that Canadian for patch?

Heck...mine probably came today too but I'm in South Bend, IN on business and won't be home to see it until Friday.

Just to be fair and keep everybody updated, Dingy did do as he said that he would and made a donation of 5% of the selling price to VentureRider.org I know that he feels bad about the way this played out and hopefully now we can all put it behind us.
-
Don't worry Mini....it was probably just looking for a place to lay its eggs. You may have babies soon. These kind of things just happen to folks that throw ice water on people.

I"m with Bill on this one. I don't think that the Stratoliner is the future of the Venture. I'm putting my money on the modified VMAX engine.

Did any of you notice that the California model would be available in 2010? I wonder what that is all about. I'm wondering what will be different about it? I know that current California models have more smog junk on them but apparently it wasn't good enough for the 2010 requirements. Could that be when we will see a glimpse of the future?

removed cassette, added gauges......done
Freebird replied to jlh3rd's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Well, I liked Ponch's faceplate so much that I decided to redo my gauges. I also replaced the Sunpro gauges with the Equus 8100 ones that Ponch had posted a link to. They cost about $10.00 more than the Sunpro but the faceplates of the gauges are almost the exact same color as the beige on our dashes. I really like them. -
No problem. Great article and it is now copied to the tech library. Thanks much.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's usually not that much work though. I have a lot of things automated so unless there is a problem, it's not too overwhelming. Sometimes things do get to be a bit much though. This weekend is a good example. I thought I was going to have a nice and relaxing 3 day weekend. Got home Friday evening to find that the company had decided that it was time for me to get a new laptop computer. So.....while it's nice getting a new computer, I've spent about 9 hours so far setting the new one up, installing all my software, transferring all my saved files, emails, account settings and etc. to the new one. I actually was just fine with the old one. I'm about done now though. Only problem is that I can't re-install Corel Suite 12 because disk 1 got damaged. So...I'll either do without it or have to replace it. I spent a couple of hours messing with it and it just won't work.

Any of you who are using Yahoo for your email clients are likely not getting any email notifications to threads and/or forums that you have subscribed to. I am getting rejection notices from yahoo for all messages sent to you. They say: SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection: host g.mx.mail.yahoo.com [209.191.118.103]: 421 4.7.0 [TS02] Messages from 67.222.3.45 temporarily deferred due to user complaints - 4.16.56.1; see http://postmaster.yahoo.com/421-ts02.html: Yahoo says that it could be from user complaints or simply that a lot of email is coming from this server. Please understand that if you get email notifications, it is because you have elected to do so. If you are getting emails from venturerider.org and have complained to Yahoo about it then shame on you. All you have to do is go to the UserCP and "Edit Options" and make sure that you have selected "Do Not Subscribe" to any topics or posts. It is off by default so if you are getting such emails, YOU have turned them on at some time in the past. I have emailed Yahoo in an attempt to get this resolved and hopefully it will be soon.
