Congrats and I wish you both many happy years. As for being quiet and private...just post the address here and we'll just see about that.

Pretty high output at very low amperage but at $500.00. I'm OK with what I have. For driving lights and headlights though, there is no doubt in my mind that LEDs are the future. http://www.webbikeworld.com/lights/motorcycle-led-driving-lights/

Folks...there are people on both sides of the car tire issue that feel very strongly about whether or not it is a good idea, safe, not safe, etc. Those who choose to run a car tire got very upset that they couldn't discuss their various configurations without others here jumping in on the conversation and expressing their opinions that it is NOT safe to do. Because of those heated arguments, I created a forum especially for these "darksiders" to discuss their experiences. So now I ask that it NOT be debated here.

Hey...all you talking about birthdays...that will be Eileen's birthday also. Do I know how to throw her a party or what.

I moved the thread for you. Then I looked in the classifieds and do not see your bike listed there. Where are you trying to sell it? You might try adding it to the classifieds because that is where most people here would look if they were in the market for a first gen. I'm sure that you bike is nice but the '83 - mid '85 models are known to need second gear repair at some point. Not an easy job for most people and a very expensive job if a person does not have the mechanical ability to do it. I would need more details on your bike but if it is an early '85 and the second gear problem has not already been addressed, that could be part of the problem. Otherwise, it is true that it is just not a great time to sell a bike. With winter upon us and many people worried about their finances.

I just added my Maintenance Day to the calendar so you folks can start signing up anytime you are ready. I think I had close to 200 folks last year. Can we set a new record? Here's a link to the date on the calendar to make it easy for you. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=153&day=2010-6-19&c=1 Details, hotel info, and etc. are here: [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41934]Freebird's Maintenance Day 2010 - VentureRider.Org[/ame]

In the meantime, Ron Ayers has an online microfiche with a reverse part number lookup. you can enter a part number and it will tell you all the various models that the part number is used on. Unfortunately, it appears to only go back to 1990. Here is the link. http://fiche.ronayers.com/

Possibly. It may take me a few days but I'll see what I can do.

Just go to PayPal and select "Send Money". It should go to dk_nelson@verizon.net Note the underscore between dk and nelson. If it would make it easier for you, just PM me your email address and I can send you an invoice.

We will be happy to sponsor you. What do you need, a decal to put on your forehead?

Got you down. OK folks...there are now 18 mugs remaining. I talked to the vendor today and they are supposed to ship to me either today or tomorrow. I will get them mailed as soon as I receive them.

and THAT is why the vast majority of us would never take our bike to the dealer for an oil change. Well...at least that is one of the reasons. I mean, it takes about 15 minutes to change it and is very simple to do.

Yea, I THINK that Dunlop makes them all.

I think you are talking about the lower wind deflectors. If so, try Diamond R at http://www.diamondraccessories.com They sell some deflectors with stainless steel hardware.

Got my set and I have to say that they make a HUGE difference. I finally got to try them out for a short ride and was very pleasantly surprised. These are a must have for anybody who rides in cooler temperatures. It will be money very well spent.

I travel almost every week. Where I can stay is restricted by my company who asks us to try to keep it under $80.00 per night. That is not always possible but usually not a problem. I typically stay at the Choice Hotel chain in order to take advantage of their rewards program. The Choice Hotel chain consists of Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Econolodge. Econolodge can be pretty ratty at times so I avoid them. Some of the Quality Inns are pretty old. Sleep Inns are OK but a usually a step below Comfort Inns. I would guess that I use Comfort Inn about 80% of the time and the other stays are usually at Quality or Sleep Inn. Even the Comfort Inns can be hit and miss. Most are OK. A few are excellent. A very few are dumps.

We'll let this one stand this one time but we will be watching him from now on. He's now on "The List".
-
Haven't taken one down and got a price yet. You are on the list though. I'll let you know after I ship it.

If you are on a highway with mileage markers, you can time them as a guideline.

I agree with Pegscraper. It's really the salt that stops any riding for me. It plays heck on the wheels. I've already replaced the real wheel once when I thought I had cleaned it good enough. The rain is the problem right now. It seems that everywhere I've gone for the last 3 weeks there has been nothing but rain rain rain and then I get home on the weekends and more rain. I'm already sick of winter and it's not even here yet.

OK folks....there are 26 mugs remaining. Grab 'em if you want 'em. It will likely be a long time, if ever, before I order them again.

I know.....it's turning into a pandemic. We have moderators riding wings, harley's, viragos....who knows what else. It's a sad day in VentureRider Land.

WOW...that is fantastic news. I'm sincerely happy for you and I know that it will be a beautiful bike when you are done with it.
