  1. I've found that if you go with speakers that are rated for too many watts, you will not get good results. The higher wattage speakers usually do not work well with lower wattage amps. Just not enough power to drive them.
  2. I used to know but don't remember now. I know it's really low...too low I think...I'm thinking around 10 watts or something like that.
  3. Yes they did. Late 70's. Here is a nice example on Ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-CBX_W0QQitemZ190347015744QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item2c5190f640#v4-37 Kawasaki also made one. The Voyager was a 1300 inline 6 for a couple of years.
  4. To all who served and those still serving, we owe you more than we could possibly ever pay you. Without you, the freedoms that we enjoy and take for granted would not be possible. Thank you so very much.
  5. I also had a CL 350 but it was my third bike. First was a Honda S 90 and second was a Harley 250 Sprint. I think I was 14 when I got the Honda 90. Probably 15 when I got the sprint and later the same year the CL 350.
  6. Plastic fins? On the RSV? I don't think so.
  7. LOL....another oil thread. I actually did read your post on the Delo but I've got to tell you...I'll stick with my Mobil 1 thank you. Even if I were to change, which I don't think I EVER will, it would be to another synthetic. I don't think you are getting Delo synthetic for that price.
  8. I use Mobil 1 but I use their motorcycle specific version. I get mine at Autozone but I understand that some Walmarts have it also. My local Walmart does not. I THINK that some of the auto versions are also non energy conserving. Look at some different weights such as 20W40 or something like that.
  9. I don't think it is necessary. Why repeat something that is already borderline in yet another place for it to be seen? Like I said, it is not hard to figure out which ones are in question. I would say that most of them are ones that contain heavy sexual content.
  10. I too appreciate the post and it is true, there have been some posts lately that probably exceed the PG rating. I don't think that posting examples again in this thread is a great idea. Most are in the jokes section and it's fairly easy to figure out which ones are borderline.
  11. I wasn't singling you out. I was as guilty as anybody.
  12. OK folks...these type of threads are bound to come up from time to time. We have a mix of members here. We appreciate each and every member here regardless of what other clubs they belong to. There are some fine members here who also happen to be very active in the Star club and there are some equally fine members here who have some real issues with the Star club. I think that enough has been said on both sides and I really think that it's time to end this one now and get back to discussing those things that make us the close group that we are and not dwell on one thing that we disagree on.
  13. Don, Very good post and I agree with most of what you said. My problem is NOT with Star. They have some very fine members and I know that some of their chapters are probably great. My problem is also not with the leader of any particular group making some money off it. A LOT of work goes into such organizations and the larger the group, the more work required. No, my problem is entirely with the particular leader of the Star group. If it was anybody else making the money, I wouldn't care. I had a personal issue with Alan Cease and him only. Maybe I'll tell the story someday but I just don't think it matters any longer.
  14. I agree about it bothering the passenger. I have a holder on my handlebars that is very easy to get to. I have one of the original Hopnel holders that attaches to the rear crash bars. Eileen said that it was always in her way so I removed it long ago. It looks like a nice idea but just didn't work out for us. It was actually given to me by Bob Dakin who removed it because Becky didn't like it there either.
  15. I'll only add that in regards to patches and colors, I don't care WHAT patch you have on your vest or jacket when you show up at one of our events. Wear whatever you like and you will still be more than welcome.
  16. I'VE GOT IT TOO! Just want to say though, I really do appreciate all those posts.
  17. Carlos, I'm really sorry to here this. There is nothing worse than sitting in a hospital and watching one of your children in such a situation. I went through a similar ordeal many years ago with my daughter and I felt so very helpless. All I can offer are my prayers and I PROMISE that I will be praying in earnest for your son as well as you and your wife. Don
  18. If you are happy with the stock mufflers, there is absolutely nothing to gain with the HD mufflers. They are very slightly louder but not much. Many people drill them to get a louder sound. The looks are very similar. They can be found either straight cut which look very similar to your stock mufflers or slash cut which do give them a different look. Any mufflers off a Road King will work but the later models have a catalytic converter in one side that will need to be broken out. I'm not sure what year they started doing that.
  19. I don't think so. It should work with the AV set at any level. That just raises the volume to compensate for increased speed/wind noise. You should be able to test it partially anyway. Turn the IC volume up high...18-20. You should be able to blow into the mic and hear the noise in your own headset. Try this with the front headset and also with the rear. Try with both helmets in both positions. That should help determine if it's the entire system, one of the helmets or one of the locations. Do NOT push the "push to talk" buttons while test the IC. The mics are always hot for the IC and the CB/Radio volume control has nothing to do with the IC.
  20. Thanks for handling this Russell. PayPal sent.
  21. There is really nothing to turn on. The intercom is on all the time. Make sure that you have the volume turned up. When you scroll through the options with the control pod...there will be one that says IC. That is the Intercom volume. We run ours on about 14. She also has a separate volume control on the left arm rest. Make sure it is turned up.
  22. Yea, I guess it varies by state but motorcycles ARE covered in Ohio.
  23. According to the article, the Adventure model has the more aggressive off road tires. Not sure what they look like. I guess I could go to the BMW site to see but since I'm not in the market, I guess I'll just not worry about it.
  24. That is 98 RON. In many parts of the world, they rate Octane in RON. In the USA, the use AKI. 98 RON is equivalent to 93-94 AKI in the USA.
  25. Nice picture. According to the article, for 2010 they have gone to dual overhead cams raising the HP to 110 and the torque to 88. Not a HUGE difference but a bit more.
