  1. I'm sure it was an honest mistake and it's not the first time that it has happened. I merged the two threads. One was in first gen tech talk and the other second gen tech talk. I merged them and then moved the merged thread to General Tech Talk. That should cover it.
  2. I think that your price is very reasonable for the stock seat and CHEAP for the Corbin.
  3. This one was 15 lbs. I think you are right. Maybe my fryer is just bigger than most. Heard of it but have never tried it.
  4. I like most everything but my favorite is always the dressing with Giblet gravy. Eileen is a great cook and does most everything. I make the Giblet gravy and this year smoked a turkey. Then we had all the old standards, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans with bacon, cranberry something or another....lots of other stuff but I don't even remember it all.
  5. OK folks...those of you who fry turkeys, where do you get your oil? I have a turkey fryer and planned to fry it this year. The last time I fried one was several years ago. I put the turnkey in the fryer and filled it with water and determined that I would need about 7 gallons of oil. A 3 gallon jug of peanut oil was $28.00 at Walmar. I would have needed 2 of those plus another gallon so probably at least $70.00 worth of oil that would be used one time and then thrown away. Heck with that. I ended up smoking it and it turned out really good. So.....how much do YOU spend on oil?
  6. It was just brought to my attention that Don Brechun, username DonB, passed away in September. This is the first I've heard of this and was very sorry to hear the news. If anybody has any details, please let us know. Our prayers go out to all his friends and family. Don was from Windsor, ON, Canada.
  7. Well it may be cleared up again for now. I'm no longer getting the bounced emails. Hopefully you Yahooer's are getting your notifications again.

    New imac

To each his or her own but just to give the other side of the story, not EVERYBODY likes the Mac. I bought into the hype several years ago and bought an IMac. Probably had it for about a year before I realized that I truly hated it. Never gave up my PC but used the Mac often enough to make sure it wasn't just because I hadn't gotten used to it. The fact is, I simply hated pretty much everything about it and it finally ended up being just an ugly paper weight. Sold it and was glad to see it go.
  9. I suppose that is indeed possible. I'll take a look. I don't THINK there is a way that I can do a mass deactivation of email reminders for those folks and it will take me FOREVER to do each one manually. I'll look though. Maybe I can figure out a way.
  10. Once again, Yahoo is blocking all email from VentureRider.org. When they notice a lot of email coming from a particular site, they assume it is spam. This is the second time they have done this. I emailed them before to let them know that any email that is sent from VentureRider.org is only that which is requested from their customers. We have a triple opt in system here. 1. A user has to register at VentureRider.org. 2. A user has to confirm that they are the one that registered by clicking a link in the confirmation email. 3. In order to received further emails such as notification to replies to posts, notifications that they have received a private message, etc. They must go to their UserCP and select to be notified of those events. I sent Yahoo an email the last time this happened and explained that to them but I simply got a canned response back saying that the ban would be temporary and restored in a few days. There is really nothing more that I can do. If it is important to you that you receive your email notifications, I can only recommend that you use somebody other than Yahoo for your email. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  11. I'm in for a couple of black ones also.
  12. Haven't had it and don't want it but did find this step by step solution. Don't know if it will work for you or not. http://www.whatthetech.com/2009/09/03/how-to-remove-windows-anti-virus-pro/
  13. San Diego is great year round. Maybe the best climate in the USA as far as I'm concerned. The only problem is that it is too crowded for my taste. South Texas has nice winter weather and not nearly as crowded.
  14. If you make them 1/2 inch longer, that is going to lower your bike a lot. Is that what you are after?
  15. WOW...it takes you a LONG time to come to your senses doesn't it. Glad to here the news. Even if you had sold the bike though, you couldn't have gone anywhere. We just don't allow that.
  16. Not really Black Friday but a good chance to remind our members that two of our great vendors here are offering us 10% discounts right now. Diamond R Accessories http://www.diamondraccessories.com Clearview Shields http://www.clearviewshields.com/
  17. It seems that this discussion comes up about twice a year. Then we move ahead and things go OK for a while until somebody feels the need to see how far they can push it again. To be honest, we have NOT had a LOT of problems with people exceeding the ever so elusive rating. While I admit that it is somewhat of a gray area, most people do seem to have a good sense of what should and should not be posted. I know that from time to time, something gets posted and then not deleted that somewhat confuses the issue. I sometimes see a joke or other post that I feel probably exceeds the rating but I resist the urge to delete it for fear of coming across "heavy handed". That is NOT my intention nor the intention of any of our moderators. Sooner or later though, they usually end up getting deleted because they spur comments and/or other jokes that are worse than the original joke. My general rule of thumb is that I ask myself "is this a joke that I would tell at the family dinner table with a son or daughter sitting there". If I have to honestly answer NO...then I don't post it. Now the question will probably be "how old are the son and/or daughter"...to me, that really doesn't matter too much. Whether they be 8 years old or 18 years old there are just some jokes that I wouldn't tell them. It's a matter of trying to set a good example. The bottom line is that nobody has ever been banned from this site for posting a joke that crosses the limit. The joke will get deleted and they may or may not receive a friendly email telling them that it was deleted. If they become a chronic poster of such things then they could eventually get a stronger email but I don't remember that ever happening. Most folks are more careful after doing it once or twice. I think that some folks are trying to make this much more complicated than it needs to be. I happen to believe that we have a fairly intelligent group here and I think that most of this discussion about what the ratings really mean are folks playing devil's advocate.
  18. Russell, I took the "Sticky" off of this for now. We can put it back at some point if you decide to proceed.
  19. I THINK that they make the commanders in radial and bias versions. Not 100% sure. At one time, they did not offer them in the RSV sizes in radials, that may have changed now.
  20. Of COURSE you count and thank you so much for what you do.
  21. Her email account has likely been hacked. Better tell her to check it and change her password. A lot of hotmail, gmail and etc. accounts have been hacked for the very purpose of promoting these bogus websites. I got one from somebody a few days ago and I KNOW that person did not actually send it on purpose.
  22. I want to thank Allen and Patti of Diamond R Accessories for letting us know about their Christmas sale. Not only is Diamond R one of the few companies in the WORLD who actually manufacture and sell custom accessories for our bikes but they have always been a FANTASTIC supporter of our club. If you haven't checked out their site, now would be a GREAT time to do so. They are having a Christmas Special on ALL products (10% off regular prices) while supplies last. Check them out at: http://www.diamondraccessories.com
  23. CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION Do a Google search about sales-digital. There are all kinds of ripoff reports and etc. There are a number of these scams going on right now. Great looking websites that appear completely legit but are NOT. Just the latest way to rip people off.
  24. I agree with you but will respect the privacy of those who do not want the recognition.
  25. The description says: This power point/cigarette lighter will keep them charged. It has what looks like a cigarette lighter element in the picture also but I can't tell for sure.
