  1. The Rebel is a air cooled parallel twin. They are very good bikes. It would be a tough decision for me between it and the Yamaha. Both are very reliable. I think it would just come down to individual preference.
  2. Great Job as usual Tom. Thanks much for all that you are doing. Great stocking stuffers.
  3. Hey SMARTY...if you are THAT busy...you sure don't want to take on the task of correcting all MY mistakes.
  4. You have no reason to apologize. I think it's good that it was brought to everybody's attention.
  5. I guess any company can have a problem at one time or another but I've installed a Clearview on my own bike and for several other people and they have all fit perfectly. Sorry you guys had a problem but I think they make the best shield on the market. Also, I'm going to move your posts and my reply to the general tech talk area. I don't want to deny you the opportunity of sharing your concerns but this area is to tell folks about the vendors that have supported the club and offered discounts.
  6. Freebird

    Why?

Having read all these posts...I'm thinking that maybe I should shut the site down until spring.
  7. Yes, it was poorly worded as I just cut and pasted the info that Tom sent me which was confusing when posted by me. I've reworded the ad. Thanks for pointing it out.
  8. I don't but I know that it is very important that they be installed properly and that means having them positioned exactly right over your ears and also not having them too far from your ears. I have made the mistake of cutting too deep a hole in the helmet and having them too far from the ear. They should be as close as possible.
  9. They are just a model of the Firestik antennas that many of us use.
  10. After reading this post, I went to Ebay to see what they looked like. VERY COOL idea. Many years ago, I bought, sold and collected knives. I really enjoyed it and had several hundred at the time. I even made a couple of knives from saw blades and etc. but had never seen these made from railroad spikes.
  11. Would have been for a good cause but it looks like he has now won. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,579773,00.html
  12. I'll jump on this band wagon also. I like my dual Fireflies.
  13. If that is true, then it is upsetting. First of all, your private email address is NOT made publicly available on this site whether you are a member or just a guest. Any emails you got would have been through private message or through the email system here which shows that it came from the venturerider site and NOT directly to your email address. So, if you got any trapdoor emails from anybody here, please let me know via PM who it was from and I'll address the issue.
  14. Send me a PM with your address and I'll get a shipping cost for you. PayPal works best for me when the time comes.
  15. To be totally honest, I think you are being fairly thin skinned. I have been reading all the posts and just read through them again. It seems that most everybody who replied agrees that anybody who claims that they are not motorcycles are being ridiculous. The last couple of replies were being sarcastic AGAINST those who say that they are not motorcycles with tongue and cheek remarks that if that is true, then none of the safety laws regarding motorcycles would reply. I think you are taking the responses wrong.
  16. WOW...looks like a lot of fun but I'm WAY too old to try that.
  17. A long time ago I was either told or read somewhere that you could tell a lot about a person by how they treated a waitress, service employee, whatever. I personally treat them well. Most are trying their very hardest to just get by. They are sometimes people working a second job to make ends meet, a college student that is trying to at least help pay there own way rather than depending on dad and mom to do it all, etc. In other words, I believe strongly that you did the right thing by tipping.
  18. I don't think they work with the first gen Venture. I don't think you even need one with it. The second gen has a different frame and the engine extends below it. The adapter is made to work specifically on the second gen. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.
  19. Nope...they are the same.
  20. Yep, they have been on there for a while. A blatant ripoff of the ones designed and built by Carbon One here. I haven't ever seen one of those but I have Carbon One's and am very happy with it and trust him to provide quality work.
  21. Now THAT was funny. I think he should have set the head on fire though. Then it could have been "Ghost Rider".
  22. I am pleased to announce that our very own MiCarl is now offering all VentureRider members a 15% discount for all your parts needs from his store, Thunder Valley Powersports. Please see details at: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=414436#post414436
  23. Well I do agree with one thing. The TITLE!
  24. I'm starting to worry about you. Are you telling us that you joined this group under the illusion that you would retain any credibility at ALL?
  25. I think I've got one or two old stands around here somewhere. I'm headed out of town though so won't be able to measure for you until I return on Friday. I have to find them first. I could also send you one if you want me to. Just the cost of shipping is all I would ask but I have to tell you, it could be expensive to shop to you due to the size and weight. When I was selling the stands, shipping was as much as $25.00 even to points in the USA.
