  1. I've never tried the product either and likely never will. I'm not bashing it but just don't see any reason to use it. Whether your mount your own tires or have them mounted, it only takes a few minutes extra to do a tried and true spin balancing. I've never had any problems doing it the old and proven way so I will just stick with it.
  2. The easiest place to get them is from Rick at http://www.buckeyeperformance.com He knows exactly what you need and offers a VentureRider discount. You can still find them a bit cheaper elsewhere but you will have the headache of needing to know exactly what to tell them you need and etc. Rick knows exactly what you need and has them ready to go.
  3. I agree with the good comments. I've never owned a Subaru vehicle but have known several people who have and I've never heard anything but good about them. I know that even their small engines are great. I have a pressure washer now with the Subaru motor. I just bought Eileen a new car and the Subaru was certainly on my list. As reported elsewhere, we ended up buying another Kia Sorento as we were very pleased with the 2004 model that we traded in. It came down to economics for us. The price on the Sorento was just too good to ignore. I think that I would have had to buy the Subaru Tribeca to get one with as much room and equipment I got on the Sorento and the price would have been thousands more. In fact, the price for a NEW 2011 Sorento was in line with the price of 2 and 3 year old models of similarly equipped models from other manufacturers. If price had not played a part though, the Subaru would have gotten some serious consideration. I don't think you can go wrong with it.
  4. I honestly think that the 3.8 is the best V6 that GM has ever produced. I had a Pontiac Bonneville years ago that I put about 140,000 miles on before selling it and never had a problem of any kind. Then a few years ago I had a Monte Carlo SS with the 3.8 and though I only put about 35,000 miles on it before trading it for a SUV, it seemed to be just as good.
  5. uh oh....that didn't come out right. I MEANT...I have not burned my legs or had any other problems. BUT....the other way you take it is true also, I haven't burned anything.
  6. Yep...I'm one of those people who don't like them. I had them on for ONE trip and took them off and sold them immediately upon returning home. My hands and fingers got number with them and that was WITH the stock end weights installed.
  7. I took them off long ago. I just think it makes everything much cleaner looking. I've not had any problems burning my legs or anything else.
  8. Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I did at one time but have lost them over the years. Rick Butler and I did mine in my garage when I lived in Dallas almost 10 years ago. It is a pretty big job though. Even doing it my way, hanging the fairing and not unhooking any of the wires, it was still a 5 to 6 hour job if I remember correctly.
  9. You will both be on our minds and in our prayers. You have a strong woman there my friend, I know you are there for each other and that will make all the difference.
  10. You aren't missing anything, there just isn't an option to move the sent items to a folder. The only way that you could do it would be to "forward" it to yourself and then move it from your inbox to another folder. I haven't tried that but it should work fine.
  11. Yes, you can completely remove the top bearing and also drop the front enough to get to the lower bearing and repack it in place without unhooking any wires.
  12. Did I just read that correctly. You used the words Beer30 and "behave himself" in the same sentence? Were you able to type that with a straight face?
  13. LOL.....you troublemaker.
  14. We could do that or a valve check...which I just happen to need on my bike.
  15. I remove the outer fairing, unbolt the inner fairing and let it hang with a rope from an eye-bolt in the garage ceiling. You can pull it forward and let it hang and have room to do the job. You can also drop the forks low enough to inspect and grease the lower bearing. Works fine.
  16. Do any of you get into the fantasy bidding on the Barrett Auto Auctions? I have never done it before but did for a while yesterday. It is actually kind of fun. If you are the closest and faster bidder on one of the selected cars, you can win a 32 gig Ipod. If you are the highest total points of the day, you win a 32 inch LCD TV and if you are the highest points winner for the entire 4 day auction, you win a full entertainment center. I would never have the time to sit, watch and bid on close to 40 hours worth of the auctions but it was fun doing it for a few hours yesterday. I didn't win anything but was close enough on the 4 that I did bid on that I earned a good many points. Had I played all day and did as well as I did on those four, I would have been near the top in the daily standings. Kind of fun but time consuming. I love watching what those cars bring though and realizing that I would have been sitting on a gold mine had I hung onto my two '69 Camaros, my 74 Dodge Challenger, my 454 Chevelle SS, my 1970 Buick GSX 455, my '71 Chevy Super Cheyenne short/wide bed truck with factory tach dash and etc. and several other cars from the past. Also Eileen once had a '68 Mustang convertible...that would do very well also.
  17. This is why I don't buy ANY of that junk on the late night TV commercials. I do have an expensive pasta maker that my wife bought about 10 years ago though. It actually does work pretty well but we've used it ONE time in those 10 years.
  18. No, but I'll try to get that done this week.
  19. I don't know. It DOES have the MM seat. I'm thinking that it has been painted but that they used the stock description for it.
  20. LOL...you gotta love that lustrous, two-tone, pearl white and ivory paint.
  21. OK...it's not mercury but the current substitute. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/Product.jsp?skuId=&store=&catId=&productId=p282857&leafCatId=&mmyId=
  22. Dennis Kirk used to sell it. Might want to check their website.
  23. Yes, Rick has most of what anybody would need for these bikes and VentureRiders get a discount from him also.
  24. Here's the bracket: http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/312/cat/7 and a wiring harness http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2541/cat/7/date/1161840513
  25. For my '99 RSV, I pay $95.00 a year. I only carry liability on it.
