  1. Don't listen to them about the Corbin. Try it for yourself and give it some time. I've been through a lot of seats and the Corbin is the most comfortable I've every had. That doesn't mean that it will be for you but it's something that each person has to decide for him or her self.
  2. OHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh............you are a VERY BRAVE MAN. SMART...but BRAVE.
  3. I've got one but it's a different brand. I can't say a lot about it because I've obviously not used it much. Years ago, I exercised a lot but didn't have it at that time. During those days, I used a rowing machine and it was really a good workout.
  4. Mine came in last week. I'll get the installed after it starts warming up a bit. Now I'm thinking about a matching headlight.
  5. I like the Khromewerks and have never heard of the tips flaking. The only ones I have heard about with that problem are the Bubs.
  6. Attached are the latest versions of our VRAssistance List. The purpose of this list is to give you a list of members who have signed up to offer assistance should you have problems while on the road or just wish to contact a member to say hello. There are two files attached. The XLS file is good if you wish to keep one on your computer as it can be sorted by username, state, country, etc. This is a Microsoft Excel format so if you do not have Microsoft Excel or another program that will open Excel files, it will not work for you. The other list is in .pdf format. It is sorted by state/province and is probably the best choice if you want a list that you can print out and take with you. If you are not on the list and wish to be, please go to your UserCP and "Edit Your Details". Scroll down on that page and you will see the section to add your information. Note that there is a new column now. The first column is the membership status of the people on the list. S = Supporting Member, E = Expired Member, R = Registered Member. A registered member is likely somebody in their trial period that just hasn't become a supporting member yet. These files were updated on September 19th, 2011.
  7. You folks just don't understand. My predictions are NEVER correct and I am probably the reason that the Saints won.
  8. Gary, I have one of the tools here in my garage. You are welcome to borrow it. It is a home made one that was given to me by Muffin Man a few years ago.
  9. I have a Fluke that I've owned for about 25 years. It is a very good meter but not cheap. It is left over from my days as an electrician. It's really not necessary to spend that much money though. I think that Georges advice is good. Sears also has some that will be more than adequate.
  10. Yes, that is pretty par for my predictions. You folks should be thanking me. I actually wasn't pulling for either team but I thought it was a pretty good game. No really questionable calls, both teams showed a good bit of class and I agree that the Saints just wanted it a lot worse than the Colts did last night.
  11. It may be possible but it would be a project that somebody would have to undertake. I know that the person who was originally doing it was collecting street addresses and or coordinates and putting those in when he had them. It depended upon each member sending him their information. I don't know how many folks did that. I've never created these POI files and don't know what is involved in doing so.
  12. OK....I'm going out on a limb here. My prediction....Colts 31 - Saints 14
  13. I am truly sorry to hear this news. I guess if I was to be granted just a single wish, It would have to be that cancer be forever cured on this earth. We have lost so many friend and family members over the past few years. Please know that all the family and friends will be in our prayers.
  14. I bet he would pinstripe most anything. I did talk to him yesterday and he has committed to being here. He also agreed to give away one two color pinstriping job to be raffled off. I've not decided yet if I'll start selling the raffle tickets here online before Maintenance Day or just wait and sell them here during the event. Either way, all the proceeds from the raffle will go to charity, specifically the Domestic Violence Center where Eileen volunteers. I've heard very good things about his work. I don't know that I'll have any pinstriping done on my bike yet, I've never really thought much about it. I may have our names put on our helmets though. I also haven't decided on the price of the raffle tickets. I'm open to your suggestions. I'm thinking in the range of $1.00 - $5.00 or maybe $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00?
  15. Very nice. I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I like the style of the new Chevy trucks and the Tahoes. I would probably have looked at them also except my wife is the primary driver of that vehicle and doesn't like one that big. If I was the primary driver, I would have given it a lot of consideration.
  16. OK....I'll get a calendar area set up soon so that folks can submit their best. I'll also try to come up with some guidelines for the size, quality and etc. needed. It was done before so maybe I can find an old post or something with that information. Might take me a day or two but I'll Git R' Done.
  17. I suspect that it was either custom built...or more likely from a manufacturer who is no longer in business.
  18. I lost one a while back. I ended up finding one at a local Ace Hardware store back in the nuts and bolts and fasteners bins. I don't remember the size but am thinking that it was maybe an 1/8" or so. I don't think the size is all that critical.
  19. OK folks...thanks to the help of member Adventure 1943, it looks likely that we will have a great pin striper available at Maintenance Day this year. He is at a rally this weekend and will confirm for sure when he gets home and checks his calendar but he has tentatively confirmed that he will be here. Here is his website so you can get an idea of the great work that he does. http://www.jaybirdcustomart.com/index.php At this time, he is looking at being here on Friday and Saturday so he should be able to accommodate a good number of folks that want some work done. He has also made the generous offer of donating one basic pin striping job for us to raffle off. Once I get it completely confirmed that he will be here, I will post more details about the raffle but my thoughts are that the money from the raffle will be for a charity. Eileen is now volunteering at a couple of different domestic violence centers so I will likely choose one of those as the charity for this particular event. So...if you haven't made plans to attend Maintenace Day at this point, now you have a bit more incentive to do so. There will be at least a couple of more vendors here also. The Butt Butler: Rick will be here and doing a LIMITED number of seats this year. He is bringing his wife and plans to do only a limited number of seats so that he can spend some time visiting instead of working daylight til dark. Mic-Mutes: Once again Bill will be here with his Mic-Mutes. This is a product that I've had on my bike for several years now and I HIGHLY recommend it. It is a feature that should have been standard equipment on the RSV. So....come one and come all. I can't believe that I'm saying this but come early. Though this event has always been a one day (Saturday) event, that small fact seems to have become routinely ignored with people showing up as early as Thursday evening and many not leaving until Sunday morning. But...I'm not complaining. It is always a great time. I look forward to seeing many old friends and making new friends. If you have never attended, don't be shy. It's a fun and family oriented event. You WILL be made to feel welcome.
  20. Just in case anybody missed it in the General Tech Talk area, Dingy is now taking orders for his fork wrench. It looks to have turned out very nice and I consider it a essential addition to your tool box. You really should check it out. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=434977#post434977
  21. Payment sent from here also. Thanks much.
  22. I think it's a great idea.
  23. Lewis, I don't think it came from here. Do you have any toolbars added? Sounds like something that is tracking your browsing.
  24. The Motrin used to help. Then it didn't seem to work at all. The doc then gave me a prescription for Indomethacin and worked for a while but lately it just barely takes the edge off. I'm supposed to take it as often as three times a day for pain and I'm really suffering before it's time to take it again. I really hope the new medication works and I won't have to worry about pain. I don't think lancing would work as the crystal are in the joint and when I think of crystals, I don't think of anything liquid that would come out with lancing. Besides, it's not always the same joints every time for me and not even the same foot. Sometimes it's one or the other and sometimes both. Sometimes the toes and sometimes more in the ankles and SOMETIMES....I think cutting something off would actually feel better.
  25. The good news here is that most of the snow had finally just about melted away yesterday. The bad news is that it is snowing like crazy now...probably about an inch already and they are saying up to 6 inches tonight.
