OK....I'm going out on a limb here. My prediction....Colts 31 - Saints 14

I am truly sorry to hear this news. I guess if I was to be granted just a single wish, It would have to be that cancer be forever cured on this earth. We have lost so many friend and family members over the past few years. Please know that all the family and friends will be in our prayers.

Pin Striper available for Freebird's Maintenance Day
Freebird replied to Freebird's topic in Watering Hole
I bet he would pinstripe most anything. I did talk to him yesterday and he has committed to being here. He also agreed to give away one two color pinstriping job to be raffled off. I've not decided yet if I'll start selling the raffle tickets here online before Maintenance Day or just wait and sell them here during the event. Either way, all the proceeds from the raffle will go to charity, specifically the Domestic Violence Center where Eileen volunteers. I've heard very good things about his work. I don't know that I'll have any pinstriping done on my bike yet, I've never really thought much about it. I may have our names put on our helmets though. I also haven't decided on the price of the raffle tickets. I'm open to your suggestions. I'm thinking in the range of $1.00 - $5.00 or maybe $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00? -
Very nice. I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I like the style of the new Chevy trucks and the Tahoes. I would probably have looked at them also except my wife is the primary driver of that vehicle and doesn't like one that big. If I was the primary driver, I would have given it a lot of consideration.

OK....I'll get a calendar area set up soon so that folks can submit their best. I'll also try to come up with some guidelines for the size, quality and etc. needed. It was done before so maybe I can find an old post or something with that information. Might take me a day or two but I'll Git R' Done.

I suspect that it was either custom built...or more likely from a manufacturer who is no longer in business.

Having trouble with windshield vent
Freebird replied to clarkrcdc's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I lost one a while back. I ended up finding one at a local Ace Hardware store back in the nuts and bolts and fasteners bins. I don't remember the size but am thinking that it was maybe an 1/8" or so. I don't think the size is all that critical. -
OK folks...thanks to the help of member Adventure 1943, it looks likely that we will have a great pin striper available at Maintenance Day this year. He is at a rally this weekend and will confirm for sure when he gets home and checks his calendar but he has tentatively confirmed that he will be here. Here is his website so you can get an idea of the great work that he does. http://www.jaybirdcustomart.com/index.php At this time, he is looking at being here on Friday and Saturday so he should be able to accommodate a good number of folks that want some work done. He has also made the generous offer of donating one basic pin striping job for us to raffle off. Once I get it completely confirmed that he will be here, I will post more details about the raffle but my thoughts are that the money from the raffle will be for a charity. Eileen is now volunteering at a couple of different domestic violence centers so I will likely choose one of those as the charity for this particular event. So...if you haven't made plans to attend Maintenace Day at this point, now you have a bit more incentive to do so. There will be at least a couple of more vendors here also. The Butt Butler: Rick will be here and doing a LIMITED number of seats this year. He is bringing his wife and plans to do only a limited number of seats so that he can spend some time visiting instead of working daylight til dark. Mic-Mutes: Once again Bill will be here with his Mic-Mutes. This is a product that I've had on my bike for several years now and I HIGHLY recommend it. It is a feature that should have been standard equipment on the RSV. So....come one and come all. I can't believe that I'm saying this but come early. Though this event has always been a one day (Saturday) event, that small fact seems to have become routinely ignored with people showing up as early as Thursday evening and many not leaving until Sunday morning. But...I'm not complaining. It is always a great time. I look forward to seeing many old friends and making new friends. If you have never attended, don't be shy. It's a fun and family oriented event. You WILL be made to feel welcome.

Just in case anybody missed it in the General Tech Talk area, Dingy is now taking orders for his fork wrench. It looks to have turned out very nice and I consider it a essential addition to your tool box. You really should check it out. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=434977#post434977

Payment sent from here also. Thanks much.

I think it's a great idea.

Lewis, I don't think it came from here. Do you have any toolbars added? Sounds like something that is tracking your browsing.

The Motrin used to help. Then it didn't seem to work at all. The doc then gave me a prescription for Indomethacin and worked for a while but lately it just barely takes the edge off. I'm supposed to take it as often as three times a day for pain and I'm really suffering before it's time to take it again. I really hope the new medication works and I won't have to worry about pain. I don't think lancing would work as the crystal are in the joint and when I think of crystals, I don't think of anything liquid that would come out with lancing. Besides, it's not always the same joints every time for me and not even the same foot. Sometimes it's one or the other and sometimes both. Sometimes the toes and sometimes more in the ankles and SOMETIMES....I think cutting something off would actually feel better.

The good news here is that most of the snow had finally just about melted away yesterday. The bad news is that it is snowing like crazy now...probably about an inch already and they are saying up to 6 inches tonight.

Hey...if the choice is the pie or the water...give me the pie please.

Well guys, the Gout problem has gotten consistently worse. It used to be a couple of times a year and then every few weeks and finally has gotten to be an almost daily thing. Some days I can barely get out of bed and even laying in bed, it hurts so bad that I can't even have the sheets touching my feet. So...got more test done and sure enough the Uric Acid was high. The doctor did indeed prescribe Allopurinol. Hope it works. I just took the first one about 10 minutes ago. Don't know how many hours or days it takes to be effective but I hope it's not too long.

I actually like that one EXCEPT for the Potato Head.

Had it long ago. Removed it long ago and went with MP3 player. MUCH better and would never go back to the CD changer. It took up too much space, skipped sometimes on rough roads, would have to carry at least 100 cds to match what is stored on my Ipod.

There is a good write-up in the tech library, complete with pictures, on removing the rear wheel. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=515 There is also a good write-up on greasing the hub and it really should be done with every rear tire change. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13263

Yea, I like Simon also. He is leaving after this season and bringing X Factor to the USA. I'm looking forward to that. During one night of this seasons tryouts, the guy that used to play Doogie Howser or whatever the name was sat in as a guest judge. I got the feeling that he was trying to be "Simon Like" and have to wonder if he was gunning to take the place of Simon next year. I certainly hope that doesn't happen. He didn't come off anything like Simon, he just came off as a pompous and arrogant jerk.

We've discussed it here before and it seems to be fairly evenly split between those who like American Idol and those who don't. I've been a huge fan for several years but for some reason, am having a really hard time getting interested in it this year. Well next season it appears that they will bring X Factor to the USA. It is similar to American Idol but with some significant differences. One thing that I like is the fact that they allow older people to enter. I'm really looking forward to it. Here is an audition from the UK show and I think that this guy is really good and wow...what a heart breaking story. I just completed a new VRAssistance list and it's posted in a sticky at the top of the watering hole. It does not contain physical addresses though, just a list of folks who signed up to be on the list. It contains city, state, name, username, email and in most cases, telephone numbers. Sorry, it is just meant to be printed out and carried with you as I have never tackled the poi files.
