Thanks...I'll give you a call. I see it being VERY labor intensive but I have more time than money. Actually...I don't have a lot of either one but that's OK. Heck Jeff...I don't mind buying him lunch....I would even buy YOU lunch if you ever showed up.

Well...it may turn out to be a disaster but I just picked up a spare set of the fins off Ebay and am going to see what I can do with them myself. I think I can do a decent job with my Dremel tool. If it doesn't work out, I will not have lost a lot of money.

There shouldn't be a valve that you tighten up. They typically have either the small pedal OR the valve that screws in and out to lower but not both. Since yours has the small pedal, it won't have the screw valve.

Modulator 2nd Gen Headlight...
Freebird replied to frogmaster's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I've got one and it was indeed a simple plug and play install. I'm trying to remember which manufacturer it was but am not sure. -
It has the large pedal to raise and the small one to lower, then I would agree that either the plunger on the small pedal is not coming back out or there is a bad seal or something on that small valve. I doubt it was overfilled, may be low now though.

Also, it still says on the Star site that a California model will be available in February 2010. That tells me that with some minor changes, they will still meet the EPA regs. I've heard this EPA rumor for several years now and yet the RSV still seems to be meeting it.
-
I guess you can't include me in the "we all know" group about the RSV. I have not heard that they stopped production in 2009. As far as I know, they are still being produced and have heard nothing else but rumors.

My first ride on a 2007 Midnight Venture

Well heck...I kind of had my head up....well....where the sun doesn't shine. I have the leveling links and they raise the bike about an inch. Then I saw you post about lowering your own bike and mixed everything up. I was thinking that you don't want to LOWER both ends but that is not what you are talking about. That being said, I just don't know how it would work to raise the rear and lower the front. To me it seems that it would be too much and the bike will actually be too high in relation to the front but to be honest, I've never seen anybody do this. -
Jerry, I just happen to know who your potential buyer is. Don't worry about it. He is perfectly legit. I just saw a post from him on the MTA site about looking for a first gen and emailed him to tell him to check our our classifieds. He responded that he had come to terms with you and that's how I know who it is. You have nothing to worry about.

Well...that was kind of my feeling when I picked it. I have a lot of black, gray and white. Was just looking for something a bit different.

Well...my wife called and told me that the sample shirt has arrived. She said that it really looks good but I'm out of town of course so won't be able to check it out until Friday. If it looks good though, I'll start collecting sizes and money within the next week or two. Now, I only plan to order ONE color. The sample is "natural"...sort of a tan color. Eileen said that she likes it and wants one but she said that you motorcycle type folks might prefer gray. So.....what say YOU?

I got these from either Midnight Rider or Cinderella and thought that some of them were pretty cool.

I live in Ohio and I'm not sure either. I would think though that in most states they could find something to charge you for.

My first ride on a 2007 Midnight Venture

I don't think that doing BOTH will give you the results you are looking for. If you look closely at these bikes, you will, see that they sit a bit low in the rear. Adding the leveling links OR lowering the front end levels the bike and greatly improves handling. If you do both, the bike is still going to sit low in the rear and, I think, defeat the purpose. If you are inseam challenged, then lowering the front is probably the way to go. If you can handle the rear being raised a bit then that is the way to go. I have the leveling links and love them but I'm pretty tall. -
Anybody who is only looking for intercom capability should be OK with the cheap J&M units. If you are looking for something to listen to music though, I highly recommend the Edsets over anything else I've heard. I've used the top of the line J&Ms, the AirRiders and the cheaper J&Ms and none of them are as good as the Edsets in my opinion.

They are beautiful bikes and you will be very happy with it. The biggest problem you are facing in regards to performance though is that they don't get enough air. Yamaha went with looks instead of performance on those models and drastically reduced the air flow in order to hide the air filters. The first thing you need to do is increase the air in...that will for SURE require re-jetting also. The ignition modules are not going to help much at all if that is all you do. There may be cheaper ways to go but Baron's offers a kit that will do the job. http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/254/index.html

Please check out the poll if you haven't done so already.

Well if that's the case, it is really a moot point. Without Internet access at the other site, you have no choice except to take your external hard drive to that computer to do any backups at all.
-
Have you considered an online backup? I've never used it but I hear a lot about Carbonite. http://www.carbonite.com/

WOW...is that pup going to be spoiled rotten or what. Very cute though.

The pic gallery is entirely different from the album. They are kind of redundant but the pic gallery was added long before the albums became part of the forum software. To add pictures to the pic gallery, click on UserCP in the lower menu bar at the top. In the left column, you will find a link called "Edit VBPicGallery". Click on that and then fill in the info at the top to add new album. The click "submit". It will take you to another page where you can upload the pictures from your computer to your gallery.
