  1. That would be fun. I don't blame him for not letting you sell it. Here is one that I would like to have. First of all though, I don't need to buy another bike and even if I did, this one is in California. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-yamaha-xt-500-enduro-great-condition_W0QQitemZ110499941102QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item19ba4f4aee Here is a 600e not far from me but though I would love the electric start, I really like the old single jug better I think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-XT-600-XT600E-Great-Commuter-Bike-60-MPG_W0QQitemZ130370238933QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item1e5aabf9d5
  2. Yea, they could be a pain to start, especially after getting hot. They WOULD kick you back and it sprained my ankle more than once but it sure was fun to ride. I've about half way looked for another one off and on but have no luck finding one in decent condition at a decent price. Heck...I don't need one anyway. I'm pretty sure that I would just hurt myself on it at this point in life.
  3. I think you folks are making this way harder than it needs to be. You don't need to completely remove the tank. You don't have to disconnect the fuel line or remove the ignition shroud. Just unbolt the tank and lift it up enough to get the bolts out of the braces.
  4. Sorry to hear the news but really glad to hear that your wife is OK. As you found out, though it may be a pain, cars can be replaced. Great wives are VERY hard to find.
  5. No problem. I think we are around 50 now. It's still early and I'm sure we will be fine.
  6. Well here was my favorite. Wish I still had it. 500cc single cylinder torque monster.
  7. YEP...I just went through the same thing. Mine has not gone out yet but it's over two years old so I know that it's just a matter of time. I decided to get one ordered so that I would have it on hand when I need it. My TV is a 60" Sony and they wanted $249.00 for the lamp. I found it on Amazon, same brand as original, for under $100.00 for the bare lamp or $129.00 for the lamp with new housing. I ended up getting it from Samsung Parts sold through Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=ALOU8D3G1HMER
  8. Yes, you have time. Just trying to keep it going.
  9. and what size IS that. Those are the only sizes that they showed available in the pocket T's. No pockets go to 3XL. I'm not sure what size the Squid Boy would wear.
  10. OK folks....in the Maintenance Day shirt poll, there were about 100 shirts spoken for but as of right now, only about 40 people have actually ordered. Now the prices are based upon certain quantities and I'm going to be in a bit of a quandary if you don't get those orders placed. So come on now....get those orders places ASAP. Thanks.
  11. Pick up at maintenance day but funds now would help a lot. I hate to come up with the approximately $2000.00 out of my pocket.
  12. OK then...they should ALREADY be VentureRiders.
  13. Nice picture of two VentureRiders in the making.
  14. Got all three of these. PLEASE folks....put a note in your PayPal payment about pockets or not and sizes. It makes it MUCH easier for me to keep everything organized than having to compare the PayPal notifications to the posts here to figure out the sizes and etc.
  15. I received the sample of the shirt that I designed for "Freebird's Maintenance Day" and am very pleased with the way that it turned out. These are very good quality Hane's Beefy T's and the text and image quality is very nice. I am now taking orders and payment for these shirts. I did the best I could on the price based on the number of shirts that you indicated in the poll that you would want. They would be a bit cheaper if I had them screen printed but that does not work well with a full color detailed photo as I am using on the back. Therefore, the prices are as follow: NO pocket shirts: $20.00 Available in sizes small - 3XL Pocket shirts: $22.00 Available in sizes small - 2XL These prices do NOT include shipping as I assume that most of you will pick them up at maintenance day. If you want shirts but cannot attend maintenance day, I think that an additional $4.00 per shirt should cover packaging and postage. These prices will result in a profit of about $2.50 per shirt. Actually less than that after PayPal fees are deducted. 100% of the profits will go to a local charity the "Domestic Violence Center". This is an organization that my wife volunteers at. They are a great group that provide food, shelter and other aid to women and child victims of domestic violence. Eileen has been very patient of the time that I spend working on and participating on this site and this is just a way for me..and all of us...to show my appreciation for all her support while helping a very deserving group that is dear to her. Please place your orders ASAP. I will try to order a few extra shirts but probably not very many so order now if you really want one. Payment should be made via PayPal to dk_nelson@verizon.net Please note the underscore between dk and nelson. If you don't use PayPal, PM me for my mailing address if you don't have it. Be sure to note with your payment: Pocket or No Pocket and sizes for each. I will take orders for a week or two and then place the order with the vendor.
  16. No, but it's not a bad idea. It would be very hard to come up with a letterhead that could be used.
  17. Where am I missing the salvage title? I know that is says it has been wrecked but didn't see any mention of a salvage title. I'm not crazy about the color but if it does indeed have a good title, that would probably be a good deal for somebody.
  18. People here have mixed opinions on it. Some had it and got tired of it. I've had it for several years and really like it a lot. We have it in the house, in my wife's car and one that goes back and forth between my work car and the bike. That one is actually the Garmin Zumo 550 with XM kit. Wife's car and house are Sirius.
  19. According to the specs that I just read, it should work just fine. It simply has an aux out jack that would plug into your connection behind the cassette deck door. You would just put your audio system on AUX and you can control the volume just fine. Many here have done the same thing with various XM and Sirius units. That one is about the same as all the others except for some waterproof features.

  21. Nothing like just jumping on the bike and taking off.....well.....once the water boils. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t93QlgBu4Is]YouTube- "Pete's Garage" - "1896 Steam Motorcycle"[/ame]

No problem. I wish I had a dollar for every time I did something like that. No big deal. So I'm guessing that it WAS hooked up. You took it all apart and forgot that you had unplugged the antenna from there.

The round cylindrical gray connection is definitely where the antenna plugs in. If that is what you are talking about, WHERE is the end of the cable coming from your antenna?

That's OK....stupid pills are a fairly common occurrence for me.
