  1. First street bike....heck...my first bike of ANY kind. Honda Sport 90. I'm not sure but I THINK it was a '65 model.
  2. Yes, they are men's sizes. I looked and there is just nothing in the Women's shirts that are close to this color and I was trying to keep it simple as I thought that most women could wear a man's small. I could look at another color for a woman's shirt but they don't have the same brand and I'm not that familiar with the others.
  3. Some people have posted that they have gotten by without changing any cables but just doing a bit of re-routing. I changed all of mine. I think that the SS brake lines are worth doing anyway so went ahead and changed the brake and clutch lines as well as the throttle cable. Didn't even try doing it the other way but some have.
  4. If I remember correctly, they don't recommend gapping the Iridium plugs at all. I admit that I still check them before installing but haven't had to adjust any.
  5. I've heard of it and even knew somebody who had one but it would have to be used of course because Pontiac is no longer around.
  6. Geezzz Charlie....even at 55 I can still find a thread so that I can reply instead of starting a new one. Otherwise, you need to understand...actually...I'm sure that you already do. Those diapers add great padding for the long rides. Kind of like a built in seat pad. Now you have got me to wondering about a new invention. Depends with build in Gel Pads. HUH???? Now as for the Viagra...I haven't need it YET but I'm promise you ONE thing. When the time comes that I DO need it, I won't hesitate. Some things are just not meant to be given up regardless of how old we get.
  7. I use the Iridium plugs but can't say that they make any difference at all in regards to performance. They are supposed to last longer. In my opinion though, there is absolutely NO reason to change the plugs every 4,000 miles. Whether using the Iridium plugs or Platinum plugs, I will change mine about every 20,000 miles unless there is a problem.
  8. Good luck to you Pick. I just know that everything is going to turn out just fine. Take care of yourself and do what the doctors say and you'll be back in the saddle before you know it.
  9. I wasn't sure if the 600 was a single or a twin. I noticed that it had dual pipes coming out of the head. I'm not really LOOKING at it though. Just playing around...day dreaming or something. I'm STILL partial to that '79. IF somebody will start it for me.
  10. That would be fun. I don't blame him for not letting you sell it. Here is one that I would like to have. First of all though, I don't need to buy another bike and even if I did, this one is in California. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-yamaha-xt-500-enduro-great-condition_W0QQitemZ110499941102QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item19ba4f4aee Here is a 600e not far from me but though I would love the electric start, I really like the old single jug better I think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-XT-600-XT600E-Great-Commuter-Bike-60-MPG_W0QQitemZ130370238933QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item1e5aabf9d5
  11. Yea, they could be a pain to start, especially after getting hot. They WOULD kick you back and it sprained my ankle more than once but it sure was fun to ride. I've about half way looked for another one off and on but have no luck finding one in decent condition at a decent price. Heck...I don't need one anyway. I'm pretty sure that I would just hurt myself on it at this point in life.
  12. I think you folks are making this way harder than it needs to be. You don't need to completely remove the tank. You don't have to disconnect the fuel line or remove the ignition shroud. Just unbolt the tank and lift it up enough to get the bolts out of the braces.
  13. Sorry to hear the news but really glad to hear that your wife is OK. As you found out, though it may be a pain, cars can be replaced. Great wives are VERY hard to find.
  14. No problem. I think we are around 50 now. It's still early and I'm sure we will be fine.
  15. Well here was my favorite. Wish I still had it. 500cc single cylinder torque monster.
  16. YEP...I just went through the same thing. Mine has not gone out yet but it's over two years old so I know that it's just a matter of time. I decided to get one ordered so that I would have it on hand when I need it. My TV is a 60" Sony and they wanted $249.00 for the lamp. I found it on Amazon, same brand as original, for under $100.00 for the bare lamp or $129.00 for the lamp with new housing. I ended up getting it from Samsung Parts sold through Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/browse.html?ie=UTF8&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&me=ALOU8D3G1HMER
  17. Yes, you have time. Just trying to keep it going.
  18. and what size IS that. Those are the only sizes that they showed available in the pocket T's. No pockets go to 3XL. I'm not sure what size the Squid Boy would wear.
  19. OK folks....in the Maintenance Day shirt poll, there were about 100 shirts spoken for but as of right now, only about 40 people have actually ordered. Now the prices are based upon certain quantities and I'm going to be in a bit of a quandary if you don't get those orders placed. So come on now....get those orders places ASAP. Thanks.
  20. Pick up at maintenance day but funds now would help a lot. I hate to come up with the approximately $2000.00 out of my pocket.
  21. OK then...they should ALREADY be VentureRiders.
  22. Nice picture of two VentureRiders in the making.
  23. Got all three of these. PLEASE folks....put a note in your PayPal payment about pockets or not and sizes. It makes it MUCH easier for me to keep everything organized than having to compare the PayPal notifications to the posts here to figure out the sizes and etc.
  24. I received the sample of the shirt that I designed for "Freebird's Maintenance Day" and am very pleased with the way that it turned out. These are very good quality Hane's Beefy T's and the text and image quality is very nice. I am now taking orders and payment for these shirts. I did the best I could on the price based on the number of shirts that you indicated in the poll that you would want. They would be a bit cheaper if I had them screen printed but that does not work well with a full color detailed photo as I am using on the back. Therefore, the prices are as follow: NO pocket shirts: $20.00 Available in sizes small - 3XL Pocket shirts: $22.00 Available in sizes small - 2XL These prices do NOT include shipping as I assume that most of you will pick them up at maintenance day. If you want shirts but cannot attend maintenance day, I think that an additional $4.00 per shirt should cover packaging and postage. These prices will result in a profit of about $2.50 per shirt. Actually less than that after PayPal fees are deducted. 100% of the profits will go to a local charity the "Domestic Violence Center". This is an organization that my wife volunteers at. They are a great group that provide food, shelter and other aid to women and child victims of domestic violence. Eileen has been very patient of the time that I spend working on and participating on this site and this is just a way for me..and all of us...to show my appreciation for all her support while helping a very deserving group that is dear to her. Please place your orders ASAP. I will try to order a few extra shirts but probably not very many so order now if you really want one. Payment should be made via PayPal to dk_nelson@verizon.net Please note the underscore between dk and nelson. If you don't use PayPal, PM me for my mailing address if you don't have it. Be sure to note with your payment: Pocket or No Pocket and sizes for each. I will take orders for a week or two and then place the order with the vendor.
