  1. Well...you posted this in the computer help section so you may not get as many responses as you normally would. This section is actually for people needing help with their computers and/or using this website. I am going to move this to the "Second Gen Tech Talk" area for you. Now, the first thing I would ask is have you..or anybody else...changed or otherwise messed with your throttle cables?
  2. Name of Restaurant Leonardo's Italian Grille Street Address 7575 Merriman Road City Romulus State or Province MI Website (Optional) http://www.leonardositaliangrille.com/index.html Quality of Food Great Quality of Service Good Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) - Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Italian, Steaks, Seafood Alcohol Served? Yes Additional Comments I eat at this place probably once a week when I'm in this area. It is close to the Detroit airport. Fairly casual and really good food. They have excellent steaks and great appetizers. Well divided smoking and no smoking sections. Plenty of parking. I can't say that it's biker friendly because I am usually in the area on business and not on my bike. I'm not saying that it's NOT, just that I don't know. Certainly not a bike hangout type place though.
  3. I updated the history information. Not sure it's 100% correct but it should be close.
  4. I agree with putting them back inline but also doubt that it would make any difference.
  5. There is a locking nut. It will have a tab that bends up into one of the slots. Did you bend that tab down?
  6. I used a LOT of them when I was putting them together and selling them. I saw no difference at all in them. Keep your eyes open and you may find them even cheaper. I paid as little as $12.50 including shipping but never more than $25.00 including shipping.
  7. It really bothers me to read about all the problems with the Avons cracking. I had very good luck with the Michelin Commanders with the ONLY problem being that they were a bit noisy in the longer sweeping curves. For that reason and due to all the great reviews that I read from other users here, I went with the Avons last time. I've had no problem with them yet but haven't inspected them yet for this season. I will give them a good inspection before riding. Based on the reviews that I've seen on the E3's, I will give them a try next time. I can't offer a personal opinion on them just yet so based only on my personal experiences and what I've read here about the cracking Avons, the Michelin Commanders would go back to the top of my list when compared to Avon, Dunlop 404, Bridgestone or Metzler. I hope the E3's turn out OK. I have read TWO reports though of the E3's blowing out when almost new.
  8. Yes, either of those stands will work if you fabricate a bracket.
  9. There is also a Days Inn. Just up the road a bit from the Motel 6.
  10. Thank you to those of you who have placed your orders already. 65 shirts have been ordered so far.
  11. Harley Sprint? That was my SECOND bike. I was 15 at the time. I pushed mine a lot too but I loved that bike. Mine was a '66 250. It was made in Italy by Aermacchi.
  12. I've always had pretty decent luck with FedX and with UPS. The one that I almost ALWAYS had trouble with was DHL. The worse case was once in Dallas where the tracking showed the package delivered but I didn't have it. I called and they sent the driver back. It was a woman and she had apparently left it in a mailbox down the street. First of all, they aren't supposed to use the mail boxes to start with. I was sitting on my porch and saw her drive down the road, take my package out of a mail box, then drive by my house and never slowed down, just threw it out the window into my yard as she passed by. Last I heard, DHL had stopped doing business in the USA and I was glad to hear it.
  13. First street bike....heck...my first bike of ANY kind. Honda Sport 90. I'm not sure but I THINK it was a '65 model.
  14. Yes, they are men's sizes. I looked and there is just nothing in the Women's shirts that are close to this color and I was trying to keep it simple as I thought that most women could wear a man's small. I could look at another color for a woman's shirt but they don't have the same brand and I'm not that familiar with the others.
  15. Some people have posted that they have gotten by without changing any cables but just doing a bit of re-routing. I changed all of mine. I think that the SS brake lines are worth doing anyway so went ahead and changed the brake and clutch lines as well as the throttle cable. Didn't even try doing it the other way but some have.
  16. If I remember correctly, they don't recommend gapping the Iridium plugs at all. I admit that I still check them before installing but haven't had to adjust any.
  17. I've heard of it and even knew somebody who had one but it would have to be used of course because Pontiac is no longer around.
  18. Geezzz Charlie....even at 55 I can still find a thread so that I can reply instead of starting a new one. Otherwise, you need to understand...actually...I'm sure that you already do. Those diapers add great padding for the long rides. Kind of like a built in seat pad. Now you have got me to wondering about a new invention. Depends with build in Gel Pads. HUH???? Now as for the Viagra...I haven't need it YET but I'm promise you ONE thing. When the time comes that I DO need it, I won't hesitate. Some things are just not meant to be given up regardless of how old we get.
  19. I use the Iridium plugs but can't say that they make any difference at all in regards to performance. They are supposed to last longer. In my opinion though, there is absolutely NO reason to change the plugs every 4,000 miles. Whether using the Iridium plugs or Platinum plugs, I will change mine about every 20,000 miles unless there is a problem.
  20. Good luck to you Pick. I just know that everything is going to turn out just fine. Take care of yourself and do what the doctors say and you'll be back in the saddle before you know it.
  21. I wasn't sure if the 600 was a single or a twin. I noticed that it had dual pipes coming out of the head. I'm not really LOOKING at it though. Just playing around...day dreaming or something. I'm STILL partial to that '79. IF somebody will start it for me.
  22. That would be fun. I don't blame him for not letting you sell it. Here is one that I would like to have. First of all though, I don't need to buy another bike and even if I did, this one is in California. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-yamaha-xt-500-enduro-great-condition_W0QQitemZ110499941102QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item19ba4f4aee Here is a 600e not far from me but though I would love the electric start, I really like the old single jug better I think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-XT-600-XT600E-Great-Commuter-Bike-60-MPG_W0QQitemZ130370238933QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_motorcycles?hash=item1e5aabf9d5
  23. Yea, they could be a pain to start, especially after getting hot. They WOULD kick you back and it sprained my ankle more than once but it sure was fun to ride. I've about half way looked for another one off and on but have no luck finding one in decent condition at a decent price. Heck...I don't need one anyway. I'm pretty sure that I would just hurt myself on it at this point in life.
  24. I think you folks are making this way harder than it needs to be. You don't need to completely remove the tank. You don't have to disconnect the fuel line or remove the ignition shroud. Just unbolt the tank and lift it up enough to get the bolts out of the braces.
  25. Sorry to hear the news but really glad to hear that your wife is OK. As you found out, though it may be a pain, cars can be replaced. Great wives are VERY hard to find.
