Yes, here is the thread though. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46931&highlight=comfort Glad you are going to make it.

WOW...it's been a LONG time since I've done this. If I remember correctly, you will remove the c-clip. I think there are two washers under it. Then remove one of them and slide it up the other end. How about it folks? Don't let me tell him wrong. Am I remembering this correctly?
-
Folks, I think it is a great idea and would even load it into my own unit but I just don't have the time to put it all together. If somebody wants to take the project and run with it, I'm all for it. If not, I promise I will put it on my "to do" list but it will likely be a while until I get to it.

I think that the best person to answer this question would be our very own Eddie (The Shiny One) I have no idea how much he has spent but the custom ghost flame paint job, the chromed rims, etc. had to all add up. It sure turned out nice.

Very nice. That's some fine looking old technology.

I read this review this morning and it sounds really good. I have no intention of going to Bluetooth but if I was going to, I would certainly give these a closer look. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/sena-smh10-intercom/sena-smh10-part-2.htm

Inexpensive (Cheap) XM Radio? Roady2 v. RoadyXT?
Freebird replied to in flagrante's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I've got a Sirius Stratus that I'm going to give away at maintenance day. You gotta be present to win though so saddle up boys. Coffee will be on. -
Yea, there are better tires but the 404 isn't bad. Won't last quiet as long as the more expensive ones but I had no complaints with the performance. It is, in my opinion, probably the best in that price range.
-
I have one the same place. I just replaced it this past weekend. It was about 4 years old and corrosion finally got it. Not bad though. About $7.00 for 4 years service.
-
You should be able to just click on the drop down box and choose 1 year. It will add it to your current expiration date.
-
He was basically saying that you should not compare the Dunlop 404 to the Dunlop E3. The E3, by all reports, is vastly superior.
-
It varies a lot from one report to another. I would expect that most people could get 12,000-14,000 from the rear Michelin. I'm hearing reports of 15,000 and more on the Dunlop Elite 3. I'm never used the Dunlop. I had a Michelin that was about 12,000 when I took it off. I would have run it 2 or 3 thousand more but I was leaving for an extended trip that would have resulted in my likely needing a new one before getting back home. From all that I've read here, I will likely be trying the Dunlop E3 next.
-
You will get a lot of different opinions. Most here would have chosen the Avon until recently when there have been a lot of reports of the sidewalls cracking. The majority of us would never use the Metzler due to a number of reports of them chunking tread. I don't now how you came to your conclusions but there are two more that many here would recommend now above either of those two. The Dunlop Elite 3 The Michelin Commander Good luck with whatever you choose.

There is an underscore between dk and nelson. If you go through the UserCP though and the Paid Subscriptions, it should direct it automatically. I don't know though if doing it that way gives you the options you are looking for. To be honest, going through the CP works best for me because it automates the process as far as automatically keeping up with your subscriptions, sending out reminders, etc.

That actually adds to the confusion. According to the Color Rite site, the correct color would be 5930. Also, over the weekend, I found two touch up paint pens that came with my Bushtec trailer. It was painted by Bushtec to match the '99. One of the pens is marked 5930 and is marked "Dark". So it agrees with the Color Rite site. According to the Color Rite site, your 5948 was used on the 2001 Royal Star Venture. I'll admit though, the color swatch that they show looks closer to the '99 than does the 5930.

I think that would work. I've never tried it that way and to be honest, didn't even know about that until a short while ago.

and that is what VentureRiders is all about. Thank you for telling your story and I have awarded him with an "Exceptional Member" award.

Beautiful bike. I don't blame you. If I had the extra money, there would be one parked beside my RSV too.
-
Just to clarify. I did NOT replace the .doc attachment with the .docx. I just added the additional one.

OK....it looks like the bidding has begun and Pegscraper is up to $1500.00. I'll go $1750.00. When should I pick it up?

I guess it's possible but it has not been my experience. A few years ago, I had a major problem with my bike that the dealers, several of them, could not figure out. It was a VERY strong raw gas smell that was so bad that it actually made my wife sick. After about 4 dealers tried to find the problem, they had a factory tech come in to look at it. He acknowledged the problem but couldn't find the cause either. After many attempts to find a solution, they finally gave up. Their response then was "it is normal, we don't find that anything is wrong". I ended up filing a lemon law suit against Yamaha. It was a long drawn out process and took almost 2 years to get it resolved. There were a lot of interviews, depositions, etc. but not one time during the entire process was the maintenance history brought up. I have always done my own oil changes and other maintenance. I kept my receipts for each oil change so I did have the proof if I needed it but it was never asked for or even mentioned. I guess if the problem was an engine failure associated with the oil, then it would become an issue but otherwise, probably not. So I would recommend that you create a folder or box or something and keep your receipts for proof, I doubt that you will ever need it. It is also a FACT that they cannot deny your warranty claim if the oil you use meets the factory specifications. It does not have to be Yamalube.

This is weird ...Did sync on the carbs and guess what I found
Freebird replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Watering Hole
Whether it is in or out should make absolutely NO difference in how it runs. All that hose does is allows the AIS system to work. It has no affect on the performance. If you are backfiring with it out then the carbs are NOT synced correctly or you have something else wrong that is causing the backfiring. You can enable, disable or completely remove the AIS system and it won't change the performance of the bike.
