  1. Well, I hope it wasn't a mistake but I ended up paying off the bank and keeping my recently deceased brother-in-law's tractor. I have used it over the past year primarily for unloading the stairlifts off of semis when they are delivered. I know very little about Mahindra tractors but it seems to be ok. It's a 4x4 model with diesel, loader and mowing deck. 3 point hitch and live PTO. 2015 model with only a hundred something hours on it. My preference would have been a Kubota probably but I didn't want to spend that much money. I needed something to unload the trucks, I think I got a decent deal on it but not rock bottom, we had already built forks for it that attach to the bucket. This is a picture of one just like it that I found online. Looks identical. Hope none of you have horror tales about the Mahindra brand. Here's picture of my brother-in-law unloading a pallet off a semi not long before he passed away. This was before we added the forks to the bucket.
  2. I really like Nissan vehicles. I bought my wife a new 2015 Nissan Murano Platinum edition when they came out with the new model in 2015. We've had absolutely no problems with it and it has been great. One thing that I was told by my local mechanic and friend though is that Nissan's repair costs are high. He tried to talk me out of buying it because he said that most Nissan parts are proprietary and expensive. Not an issue if you trade vehicles while they are still under warranty but we pretty much plan to keep this one for a long time so at some point, it may come back to bite me.
  3. Did I not say ONE of our best?
  4. I wasn't exactly making them from scratch but was using stands off the first gens. Here is a thread that shows how I was making them and how they bolted on. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?1427-Freebird-Centerstand-Installation
  5. Craig, I've already told you this but I'll repeat it here. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, we are here for you. You are a great friend and a great member here. Please know that you are in our prayers. As has been said, it's not over until it's over. I do believe in and have experience miracles. I pray that one will come your way.
  6. The 130's that I've seen people here use has been a front tire. Not sure where you saw that it was a rear.
  7. RAID was rebuilt on the server and the site is now on the SSD drives. Speed seems to be back to normal from here anyway.
  8. I can't help with that one. The problem is that he linked them from Photobucket and now Photobucket has disabled linking photos from their site unless you want to pay them big money. The only option would be if somebody can find them on his Photobucket site and save them to your computer and then maybe email them to me.
  9. Just wanted to let you all know that I am aware that the site is very slow right now. I have been working with our hosting service today and they are trying to figure out what is wrong. In the meantime, I made the decision to upgrade our server to the newer SSD (solid state drive) setup. It costs a little more but should be better in regards to speed and reliability. I'm not sure when that swap will be made but when it is, there will be a very short time when the site will be down. Shouldn't be more than a few minutes. I'll give you all advanced notice if I have any.
  10. Yea, and I don't think I ever got even for that pie thing.
  11. In my opinion, that was one of our best rallies.
  12. I don't claim to have a lot of experience with this but I can relate what little I know. I recently set one up and plugged it into the optical output of the TV. I didn't plug anything into the cable box. I don't think that plugging it into the cable box would work with a lot of systems. For example, the one that I did didn't have it's own box. The cable box was in another room on a different TV. It is a multi-room box and with only one box to run a couple or more different rooms. I did have to go into the TV's menu though and find it's audio output. It was set to "internal speakers" and I had to switch it to the optical output.
  13. As somebody mentioned above, I took a similar route. I had owned Harley's in the past and then got into the Ventures. Had several Ventures, and bought a new '99 when they came out. Loved them. In 2013, I got the itch to buy another Harley and bought a 2013 Road Glide Ultra. I will be completely honest and tell you that there were a lot of things I loved about it. It was about the only bike I ever owned that was just about as comfortable for me as the RSV. The way I like to ride lends itself well to the low RPM torque of the Harley. It was smooth and comfortable and actually got better gas mileage than the RSV. I kept it two years but only put about 20,000 miles on it. I never had to take it back to the dealer for any reason. There was a bit more maintenance due to the three different oils to change instead of just one on the Venture and having to adjust the clutch pack once or twice as per the maintenance schedule but it wasn't a big deal. The big negative for me was the heat. It would roast your thighs on a hot day. I did everything suggested to reduce the heat. Free flowing exhaust, tuner, remove the catalytic converter, etc. All of that may have helped a little but the fact remained, it was just HOT. It was at least as bad and probably worse for my wife as her feet just burned up on it. Even at that, I may have kept it had it not been for the money. Things got busy in our life and I just wasn't finding the time to ride it as often as I wanted to. It was a lot of money tied up to just sit in the garage and there were other things that we wanted to do with some of that money. So, I sold it, bought a another low mileage RSV for a fraction of the money and that is what I still have. Regrets? Maybe just a tad. I do miss some things about the Harley but no more than we get to ride lately, I don't see every spending the money for another one. I figure our RSV will see us through the rest of our riding days and it is a beautiful and comfortable bike that has no problem eating up many miles of highway and without burning you up.
  14. In the early hours of January 1st, 2018, My brother in law, my wife's brother, Terrence Sharick lost his year-long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. It was the week after Thanksgiving of 2016 that we learned of his diagnosis. Though the doctors didn't wish to make a prediction, the general thought was that he had between 4 and 6 months to live. What they could not have known though was that Terry was a fighter and had such a strong will to live. Though there were some bad days over the past year, there were also so very many great days. In spite of his deteriorating health, he was able to take Eileen's Spyder for a couple of rides and we were even able to take the Waverunner's out for a few hours at the end of the summer. Over the past few weeks, his pain sometimes got out of control but he never lost his great sense of humor and we had many laughs and good times. We feel that Terry had determined that he would make it through the Holidays and due to that determination, we were able to have very nice Thanksgiving and Christmas days. Terry was not afraid to die. He had come to terms with that. What hurt him the most was knowing that he was going leave behind, at least for a while, the people that he loved so dearly and that he knew loved him in return. We know that he fought to live and defied the odds, as much for us as he did for himself. Terry, you will be missed. It was time for your pain to end though. You fought the good fight and complained very little. We know that you are in a better place now and we know that someday, we will all be together again. Yes, it hurts and will for some time but we are happy that your battles are over. We take comfort in knowing that your earthly trials have concluded and it would be selfish of us to wish for them to have continued. We know that you are OK now and you must know that we will be as well. God Speed our Brother, we will laugh again and rejoice in our reunion.
  15. I've got a 750 Nighthawk out in the shed. My son bought it a couple of years ago and rode it about 3 times. It is supposed to be sold but it's still sitting here. This one has been modified just a bit though.
  16. Pictures restored.
  17. It's hard to determine. In my opinion, these bikes should bring more on the used market than they are bringing. From most of the ads that I've seen, you may be just a little high but I would at least start there. Wherever you start, somebody is going to try and get it cheaper. Mine is an '05 and I can assure you that I would be above market on it but I've got a ton of extras on it. People don't want to pay for extras but they are getting hard to find for these bikes and if they want it, they will have to step up.
  18. You didn't mention how many miles are on it. We all know that mileage isn't much of a factor on these bikes but to the buying public, it can still be an issue.
  19. For anybody else, just do a Google search for wire hose clamp and you'll find a lot of them.
  20. Not here. Been snowing all day. @Flyinfool is officially on double secret probation now.
  21. The question always comes back to "WHO in the area wants to get it set up".
  22. What position is the key in? I think it only works in the accessory position.
