I don't know. All my phones are Iphones, 6, 7, and 10. My computer is a Macbook Pro. I have no issues with the photos. What I do that could make the difference though is that I always email the pictures to myself and then resize them on the Mac before uploading them. Some have said if you simply open the picture, save it even if you don't make any changes, then upload it that it works properly. I do it to resize them but they always appear with the correct orientation.

Jeff, I restored most of those posts but post 54 is a problem. I have to search for this pictures based on your member number and then the date the pictures were posted. In that post, you added the pictures later. I don't know what date they were added so couldn't find them. It would have shown "edited on" and I could have used that date except you apparently edited it a second time to correct a wiring diagram so the date of your first edit was overwritten. Without the date, it would take me a LONG time to find them.

This has been discussed many times and I think that most of us have come to the conclusion that there is no good answer. The 4" speakers are the problem and there is just no good way to install larger speakers.

Progressive Spring install ?
Freebird replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Actually, just removing the top shouldn't cause it to drop down, there are two nuts underneath that have to be removed first. Here is a thread that shows them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?511-Tightening-the-Steering-Head -
Progressive Spring install ?
Freebird replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It's easy enough for the top bearing but for the bottom one, you will have to completely remove the triple tree. That means removing the front tire also. And no, if you remove the top of the triple tree, it will likely slip down until the tire stops it. -
My friend, I have only ONE SINGLE QUESTION to ask your lovely wife. I'll look at her, I'll look at you, I'll look back at her and ask one simple question....WHY????

Progressive Spring install ?
Freebird replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
First time I did one, I did it about the same way. Hung the fairing and etc. from a hook in the ceiling. Once the top is off that triple tree, the air caps should screw off. -
No, there is no provision in the software to do that. Sorry.

Mr. Cowpuc, I understand but the problem is, within a very few days, that link to Craigslist is no longer valid and then eventually you end up with a lot of post that mean absolutely nothing. There is no way to automatically delete them. It requires that I, or a moderator, go through every single post and manually get rid of them. It just doesn't work. I also understand, and have been somewhat tolerant, of folks that post something like "I am going to see my bike but am curious as to what you think I should ask. Send me a message if you are interested" or some variation of that. It always strikes me as somebody attempting to be clever in posting their bike for sale in the forums.

I've made a change so that the posts to the classifieds should now show up under the "New Posts" button. The way ut works is that any posts to the links to classifieds, craigslst, and Ebay forum will be added to the New Posts display. I did NOT add the Ebay Listings forum to the New Posts function. The Ebay auctions forum are automatically populated by a script that taps into Ebay. The Links to Classifieds, Craigslst, and Ebay forum only include links that YOU, our supporting members ad. You do not need to add your Classfied listing to that forum, I have it programmed where it is automatically added when you list your item in the classifieds. Bottom line is that anything you post in the Classifieds should now show up in the listings when you click on "New Post". It will not be instant. The script that ads your classifieds to the Links forum runs every few minutes. They will show up though. We will try it this way for a while. It shouldn't be an overwhelming number of posts as it would be if I added the Ebay Auctions forum.

Jeff, will be glad to but I need to know which posts have missing pictures. That thread spans over quite a long time period.

Great job on both items. I had the Diamond R on the '99 but Eileen actually ended up never using them for some reason. It seems that most ladies want to stretch out a bit, not have their feet higher. Never have figured out a good way to do that on the RSV.

I'm not sure what year they started it but my 2005 midnight has the metal flake also.

Does seem a bit strange. Along with their 26,999 price on their website, it also says the following so you can add even more to that price. Advertised pricing excludes applicable taxes title and licensing, dealer set up, destination, reconditioning and are subject to change without notice. Pricing may exclude any added parts, accessories or installation unless otherwise noted. Sale prices include all applicable offers. Not all options listed available on pre-owned models. Contact dealer for details. I can also say though that it's not unusual to find a dealer who is willing to discount a first year bike. I bought my first RSV in April or May of 1999, just shortly after they hit the showrooms. I'm I'm not mistaken, the suggested retail was $16,999. I paid about $14300 for mine out the door. Another interesting fact. I read here that dealers in Canada are not allowed to discount Harleys but I got a decent discount on my 2013 Road Glide when I bought it. Then last week, I got a letter from Harley with a $1500.00 discount certificate towards the purchase of any new Harley.

Progressive Spring install ?
Freebird replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'm pretty sure it was the 120s. That was the problem with Progressive, they only had the lighter springs that were actually designed for the Royal Star. With the RSVs heavier front and etc., it needs the heavier springs. Rick Butler can tell you for sure if you want to send him a PM. From what I remember, there are four bolts that hold the inner fairing on. They in on the four corners of the steel tubing square behind the radio area. -
Progressive Spring install ?
Freebird replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I thought there was a tech article on installing the Sonic Springs but I don't see it. I've installed them and several others have also but I guess nobody took pictures. I really recommend the Sonic Springs instead of the Progressives on the RSV. I can tell you that it requires either completely removing the fairing or at least unbolting it from the frame and securing it away from the forks. -
Folks, I can certainly change it so that the classified ads show up in "new posts". The only reason they don't is because a lot of people complained about them showing up in "new posts" in the beginning. I made some custom changes in the programming to prevent them from showing up. It would be easy enough to reverse that if it is what the majority of you want.

I would like to add that this is never personal. Heck, I didn't even mention any names when I started this thread. It was meant as a reminder to all and a note to our newer members. It happens from time to time. Heck, nobody even got put on double secret probation over this. I personally have no hard feelings over it towards anybody involved. Absolutely none whatsoever. So carry on...Eat, Drink, Be Merry. I even started a poll to gauge whether or not people still feel the same way about the classifieds as they did the last time we discussed this a few years ago. I'm open to input and opinions and the member's preferences are important to me. I will make changes when the majority ask for them, to the extent that I am able to do so.

LOL...I wish you knew me better. If you did, you would know that I'm not mad at all. Wasn't then and am not now. I am just trying to get people to follow this simple rule. We don't have many.

I continue to hear the occasional complaint about our classified section. We have been back and forth with this over the years and I have tried to listen and give you what you want. A few years ago, I moved all the classifieds to the forum with same categories that we have in the current classifieds. Then the majority wanted them back where they are, in a dedicated classifieds package so I moved it back. I know that opinions change over time so I thought I would open this up for discussion again. Having them in the forum and in their own place, as they are now, is confusing so it has to be one or the other. Let me know what you prefer.

Photos restored. -
To be honest, I really don't know. It has happened to other people before. I THINK it has something to do with the way a picture is taken with your phone. Orientation between landscape mode and normal. I know that people have emailed me some pictures before and when I open them up on my computer, make sure they are correctly orientated, and then save it and send it back, it works as it should.

If you post your ad in the classifieds, others can see it. It's not really your fault that people aren't in the habit of looking there for parts. That is why I started this thread, to encourage people to check the classifieds so that they see ads posted by other members. As for not having permissions, if you try to post to "Ebay Ads", you won't have permission. That is all Ebay ads and is automatically populated by a script. The forum you CAN post in, though classifieds is preferable, is the Links to Ebay, Craigslist, Classifieds. When you put your items in the classifieds, it automatically gets added to that forum without you doing anything else but if you want to manually post there, you can. This is the forum I am talking about. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?181-Links-to-Classifieds-Craigslist-Ebay-Sales-Etc As far as people not knowing the rules about ads in the forums, there is a "Sticky Thread" right at the top of the watering hole that I posted about 4 years ago in an effort to get the word out. Here it is: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?87332-Classifieds-No-more-mister-nice-guy

I'll be giving away a Carbon_One lift adapter at Maintenance Day by the way. Also, some other goodies.
