There are a lot of variables that go into the pricing. What kind of leather, custom tooling, pocket or no pocket, many other things. I don't even know if she has come up with a price on this exact one yet. Here is the basic information from her site though. Tank bibs start at $120 plus shipping. “Whales Tail” bibs start at $250 and up plus shipping. These bibs are a one piece bib that, at the bottom, wrap around the tank to protect it from your jeans.

I've been working with Nanci at https://www.acehighleathers.com on a tank bib/chap combination for the Star Venture. Nanci has done great work for a lot of our members here and I'm always amazed at the quality of her products. This particular bib is made from cowhide with a strip of stingray down the middle. I love the way it turned out. The pictures do not do it justice because it is just too cold in my garage and I'm not going to install it properly until it warms up outside. Probably in the spring. I don't want to pull the backing off the velcro strips that adhere under the tank and can't pull it all tight until then. Also, the leather is very cold and stiff right now. I could heat everything up with a hair dryer I suppose but I'll just wait until the weather is better. At any rate, I just wanted you to get an idea. All her work is custom so she can do pretty much whatever you want. This is the first one she has done for the new Star Venture and it fits really good considering the not so great measurements that I sent her. I actually think it's going to be about perfect once things warm up and I get get it installed correctly. I usually get a pocket on my bibs but with the storage availability on this bike, I decided that I really didn't need one. The main reason for adding it was that I think they look great and the "whale tail" protects the side of the tank where your knees rub it.

I think you were told wrong. I've used my battery tenders on many AGM batteries and there were no issues. You should use a normal charger for an initial charge at about 2 amps or so for a few hours. Them the battery charger will maintain it just fine. I don't know why you were told you need diodes or anything else.

Thanks Nancy. My initial impressions is that it is very nice. It is nice either way but I just haven't had time to put it on yet. I think it's going to work great but won't know until I get it installed which hopefully will be later today. I love the way it turned out though. Once I get it confirmed to fit well, we need to decide what to do next.

Yes, I'll admit that it was a pretty sweet deal for a new model bike.

Trailers, in my opinion, are like motorcycles in that each person has a different idea of which one looks best. Some look at them as a tool to get the task done and don't care either way what it looks like. Nothing wrong with that either. In my eyes, the Bushtec Roadstar is the best looking trailer behind the Royal Star Venture. To me, it has a "cruiser" styling that just looks killer behind the RSV and other cruiser style bikes. As for the trailer itself, I have never had any problem what so ever with the suspension, tires, wheels, etc. I think the motorcycle style wheels add to the overall look. I agree that the Bushtec tires are harder to find and probably harder to change but they are also very tough. You can run them flat for quite a few miles if you do get a puncture. The Bushtec trailers just pull like a dream and handle rough roads like nothing I've ever seen whether empty or full. All that being said, I'm not yet sure how well it will match the lines of the Star Venture. My Star Venture is a departure from the "cruiser" styling that I love about the RSV. It's a good looking bike and the style is growing on me but I'm not sure that the Bushtec Roadstar is the best match for it. I haven't even had it behind the bike yet and I'm sure it will be fine and doubt that I'll sell and replace it but if I didn't already have a trailer, I would likely be looking at one with a more modern style with lines that better compliment the Star Venture. Maybe one of the other Bushtecs or another brand such as the Hannigan or others.

That looks fantastic. Looks to match the bike very well. I'm sure you will enjoy it. We love traveling with ours.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but I don't think it is black. I think it is the same gray that I have. Either way, I won't be trading. I'm actually very happy with the gray. As for the price, I'm not sure about Canada but in the USA you can buy them much less than suggested list. I bought mine at a huge discount off sticker.

Not much difference. Pretty impressive actually. I think the torque of these bikes really helps in that regard. Haven't pulled mine yet but when we are on the rode, my wife loads it pretty heavy. LOT'S OF SHOES! . Looking forward to trying it though.

What kind of prices are you getting for a wrap? The last time I had a Bushtec painted, it cost me about $600.00. I asked one shop about a wrap and was told I would be better off to have it painted. I was told by another shop, after I had it painted, that I was given bad advice and he could have wrapped it for me. My Bushtec is black and I'm thinking about just leaving it black to pull behind the gray SVTC. I sure like them to match though so may reconsider.

Thank you. I figured it was in there somewhere. I just skipped too far ahead and was in the engine rebuild section. Looks much easier than the shim and bucket setup on the RSV.

I looked through the service manual a little yesterday but did not find any instructions to adjust the valves. It's probably in there but I just haven't found it yet. I did find where it specified the 16,000 mile interval. I agree with you though. I will check mine at around 16,000 but then less often after that.

Sorry, not sure I can answer your question. I didn't really pay much attention to how much more cable I had. I can only tell you that to install mine, I didn't have to pull on anything or re-route anything. They were plenty long with mo binding at all.

I hear so many people talk about their love for bourbon but I just hate it. I've head people tell me "try this one and you'll be hooked". Nope, still hate it. Not just bourbon but any kind of whiskey. Bourbon, Scotch, whatever. Just have to gag it down if I even try it.

Is there an air intake from outside the house? I had a similar problem with my furnace a few years ago. There is a differential pressure switch that will keep the gas valve from opening. Mine has a duct, something like you see your a clothes dryer, that draws in air from outside the house. Yellow jackets had built a nest at the intake on the outside wall of the house. I cleaned it out and all was good.

OK...I just got out of an intensive meeting with my significant other, AKA: THE BOSS!, and we have decided to move it back a week or two this year to June 15th. So that is the official date for Freebird's Maintenance Day. Mark your calendars. Hope to see a lot of old faces and some new ones too.
