  1. Definitely 3 drain plugs. I didn't have an oil filter wrench, actually I do but didn't find it until the next day, but it looks to me like a small strap wrench would work just fine.
  2. It has rained a lot here and rained again today. The yard is pretty wet and we've had so much rain, it is saturated and has nowhere to go. It's supposed to be a day of sunshine tomorrow so hopefully things will dry out a bit. If so, there shouldn't be an issue with tents and etc. if you stay on the higher areas but the usual driving across the yard will likely be a bad idea. I recommend you all riders try to stay on the gravel driveway. I'll be here to sort of guide and direct but just warning you that getting stuck will be pretty easy if you get off in the grass. First arrivals this year were Yamamama and Moped. They got here this afternoon and are all settled in. Looking forward to other arrivals tomorrow.l
  3. Where is that?
  4. Yea, that's the one that I mentioned in my first post that is sold by Big Bike Parts. I've not seen it in person but a couple of posts have stated that it's a bit flimsy. Other reports have been OK though. It also only comes in clear and I would prefer one that it lightly tinted.
  5. Looks very similar to the Baker unit. Interesting and would probably do the job but I would prefer just a wider weindshield.
  6. I agree 100%. Ride there, rent a bike when you get there, whatever. If you do it on a motorcycle, it counts.
  7. If you can find it, I'll see what I can do but if I remember correctly, his original models required drilling the windshield. Looks like the ones he sells now are a sandwich design clamp so no drilling is necessary. I doubt I would drill my windshield to experiment with it. Sooner or later, somebody will hopefully come out with a quality shield for this bike. Maybe. Production numbers are low enough that most won't bother.
  8. Well, I hope that torquing it properly solved your problem but I seriously doubt that it did. Though I would certainly want to torque it to the recommeded...haven't looked it up but I think it is 110 ft. lbs...... but I think that 80 is tight enough that it wouldn't contribute to the issue you are having.

    A/C ?

What is it doing? Is the fan running and it's just not cooling or is the fan not running? If it's just the fan not running, it could be as simple as the starting capacitor on the motor. I've had to replace two of them on my home unit over the past few years. If that is it, it's cheap fix. Less than $20.00 and even less than $10.00 if you have time to order it online.
  10. @cowpuc , Baker used to make them. Same guy who made the lower wind deflectors. He used to be at the old V-Daze Rallies and would install them and the lower wings as you purchased them. He is actually still in business but no longer offers anything for the Yamaha. Here is an example of basically the same thing. https://bakerbuiltairwings.com/proddetail.php?prod=1STLNWSW
  11. The beef is, just like on the RSV, the windshield is not wide enough.
  12. They have assured me that they will be ready for us this year. We will leave my house between 5:15 and 5:30. They are expecting us at 6:00. For or those who want to meet us there, here is a link to the restaurant. http://thelube.com/locations/ohio/vermilion/
  13. Unfortunately, I think you may also end up just being a spammer. You list Boston as your city but your IP address says you are posting from the Ukraine.
  14. I'm not a mummy..... but I think this could be a fun topic. Thanks for starting it.
  15. There is a spacer on the right side. It has a shoulder on it. If you put it in backwards, it will allow the wheel to slightly move back and forth. I did it once and the rear tire would actually rub when it moved to the right.
  16. I wish somebody would come out with a really quality and wider windshield for the SVTC. Clearnview nor F4 have done so. Madstad makes one and they have a good shield but I'm not sure I like the looks on this bike. BigBike parts have one but only in clear and I've seen posts that it seems a bit flimsy. Have any of you tried the Madstad?
  17. Updates are done. This was all backend stuff. No changes to the forum.
  18. First phase is done. Still a bit more to go.
  19. There will likely be some short periods of downtime over the next hour or so. There is some backend server software that has to be updated. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  20. Well, a bit more detail. I hardly ever have the ROP up. Now this happened on my Mahindra compact tractor. It has a belly mower but I seldom use it for mowing. I have a zero turn that I mow with. I use the Mahindra primarily as a fork lift when I get a shipment of stairlifts. It has a front end loader and I have removed the bucket and install a set of forks in place of it. My driveway is about 450 ft. and the semis that deliver them park out on the road and I use the Mahindra to take the pallets off the trailers and to my building. I actually need a larger tractor as the pallets are often loaded a bit heavy for my current tractor. So, I had ordered 6 stairlifts but there was a screwup and they shipped me 12 units. That's OK because I can use them but some of the pallets were loaded heavier than usual. I have a 3-point sprayer on the back of the tractor and had it full of water to provide some ballast. I was still a bit nervous though so decided to put the ROP up while taking the pallets off the semi. I seldom put it up so when I got to the building, I just attempted to drive right on in like I always do. BAM!!!! Down came the door. It's all good now. Not a lot of damage to the door, just a couple of pretty good dents and they came out fairly well. Took the door apart yesterday and got it re-hung. Now just to be careful not do do it again.
  21. Haven't looked into it. Does your bike have the heated grips? I won't change because I don't want to give up the heat. I don't think they ever made any for the Royal Star Venture either, it was just a matter of measuring them and then matching them up to one of their models.
  22. I used the Yamaha filter this time but will certainly use the K&N next time. Would make it so much easier. I used a pair of Channel-Lok slip joint pliers to get it off. Was still hard to get the right angle with the lines in the way.
  23. Yes. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?17406-VentureRider-Guardian-Bells
  24. Some of you may know this already. If you forget to put the roll bar down on your tractor before entering your shop/building, you may find the overhead garage door crashing down on your head. Just something that is useful to know.
  25. Looks good. Great job.
