At the top right, click on Setings. Then in the left menu, edit profile. Custom User Title is what you are looking for.

Have never tinted one but you can buy a tinted shield from Clearview Shields. EDIT: Not sure that they have one yet for the Eluder. I know that they do for the Star Venture. You can check with them though.
-
Yea, you are probably right. They tend to total them pretty quickly. All that plastic adds up to a good bit of money.

Glad you are OK. Damage to the bike looks fairly minor but who know how the insurance will rate it.

LOL...did manage to ride about 50 miles yesterday when I rode over to Medina to transfer the title and get the tags.

All chromed up and ready to go
Freebird replied to JR333's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
You have it looking great. I stuck with the black Yamaha stuff when I had my '18 but had mixed feelings about it. Love the chrome. -
Got my install done today and got home around 2:00. My windshield bags had arrived that I ordered last week so I got them installed. Here are some updated pictures. I will get it out and take some good pictures soon. Raining today. Got the highway pegs installed, the fringe removed, the windshield bags installed, the riders backrest installed. The only thing I've bought was the windshield bags and the highway pegs. Anything else you see came on the bike when I bought it. I've also bought a luggage rack but haven't installed it yet.

Help with balancing the top heaviness of my 2009 RSV
Freebird replied to dalesocha's topic in Watering Hole
I removed the tape deck on a '99 and replace it with instruments. Probably about the same weight so wouldn't have helped in regards to what you are asking. I will say though that the tape deck, amp, and speakers weigh very little and I doubt you would notice any difference. -
Another no start , part locations needed
Freebird replied to cami's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
The cutout really is mounted on the center cover behind the engine. I'm talking about the cover between the two side covers. If I remember correctly, it slips into a rubber holder. The ignitor is mounted under the battery box. you have to remove the battery and then the battery box to access it. -
Well guys, I don't usually work on Sunday. I do work occasionally on Saturday. I had two custom built curved lifts that I had to get installed in Columbus. It took a while to get them due to limited shipping form the Netherlands where they were built. All due to this Covid crap. I usually get them in about 4 weeks but it took 7 weeks this time. The people were very understanding and I had promised them that I would get them installed immediately when they arrived. So, they arrived on Thursday. I was already booked for Friday so installed them over the weekend. Then I got really busy and have installs every day this week. The thing about this business, and probably most businesses, is when it rains it pours. I could turn down some business right now but next month it could be slow and I will wish I hadn't turned it down. I'll get this all figured out sooner or later.

Well the good news is that I picked up and installed the highway pegs and even picked up a luggage rack. Haven't had time to install the rack though. That's the bad news. I'm buried in work right now. I've ridden the bike one time since I bought it and that was only about 5 miles. It seems that suddenly everybody needs a stairlift. I installed a lift yesterday (Saturday) in Columbus and have another to install in Columbus today. I have installed scheduled every day this week and even got talked into doing one in Mercer, PA on Friday. I usually don't go out of Ohio. I'm appreciative of the business but to be honest, it's wearing me out right now and I would love to find some time to ride.

Happy Anniversary my friend. 50 years is something to be thankful for now days. I think you are both very lucky to have found each other. Hope you have a wonderful day and days to come.

You are probably right. But I bought a bit of time.

Cable and wire routing, front
Freebird replied to DaNetFlunky's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You posted it in the right place. Either it wasn't seen or nobody knows. Hard to believe that nobody knows so hopefully somebody will jump in here soon. Personally, I just don't know. -
I was seriously considering a trike and had my eye on a RSV Hannigan. Eileen really pushed for me to go that router but I just don't think I am ready. Then the guy posted that he had mistyped the price and it was a thousand more than I thought and that was enough excuse for me to abandon the idea.

We plan to. Hope life doesn't get in the way.

Yea, most of the dealers here are open on Sunday so I guess Monday is their only day off. I got the bike home yesterday afternoon. It was only about 30 miles away so it was a short ride. Everything was good though except that long fringe on the grips about beat me to death. My 15 year old great niece rode home with me and said that the fringe on the floorboards lashed her too. So, first thing I did this morning was remove all the fringe. The guy bought a backrest when he bought the bike but decided he didn't like it and never used it. The hardware was all installed but the backrest wasn't on it when I bought it. I put it on this morning and found that he had splurged for the deluxe model that has a cable/lever to adjust the angle. Works very well. So that is done. Today I will pick up some highway pegs and I think it will be good. Maybe a luggage rack at some point. I also learned that he had an LED kit installed at a bike really in Sandusky just after the bought it. Has a remote control that turns them on an off and different patterns and etc. Not something I would have added but actually pretty cool. The Vance and Hines muffles sound good. A bit loud but not bad at all. I think I'm going to like them. Loved the mini ape hangers on the way home. Something I always wanted to try but never had. I think they will be perfect for me. No complaints so far.

I think I'll enjoy it. Wanted to pick up some highway pegs today but it looks like all the dealerships around here are closed on Monday so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Oh well. I'm going to pick it up at 5:30 this afternoon. Wanted to bring it home Saturday when I looked at it but they wouldn't take a check from a total stranger, imagine that.

I was really unsure if I was going to buy another bike or not. I've been looking around but just didn't want to spend a lot of money. I had the 2018 for well over a year and only put 1200 miles on it. After selling it, I pretty much decided that my riding days were over but that is easier said than really accepted. I was really on the fence about what to buy. I seriously considered another RSV but have come to really like having fuel injection rather than carbs. So, I ran across another Harley. It's not exactly what I wanted because it's a 2008 model. Harley improved their frames in 2009, strengthening them so less flex. But to one honest, I don't ride hard any longer like I once did. The miles were right on this one and the price was about as good as I've seen so I pulled the trigger. It's a 2008 Ultra Classic. Has a few extras including Vance and Hines mufflers, Mini ape hanger handlebars, Riders backrest (not in the picture), tall windshield, Chrome rims, and a few other things. Came with two covers and four nice helmets. The bike only has 9300 miles on it. I rode it and it is pretty much like knew. So...I went ahead and pulled the trigger. May or may not like it but we'll see. No more than I ride, it should do just fine. If not, I can easily get my money out of it. Here are some pictures at his house, I'm picking up this evening. I don't like the whitewalls but they will do until they wear out, if ever. Obviously the fringe has to go quickly. About the only thing I just have to add is highway pegs.

Yes you did. Very good.

See this thread. It should help. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?95671-State-map

I'll add one thing. Don't grind or file the notch until you have it all together. Not all stands are the same and if you find it too deep, it will break over too far and make it very difficult to get the bike off the stand. Assemble it before installing and then with the stand in the parallel position, grind the notches until it just barely breaks over.
-
I made a lot of them out of the first gen stands. Check out this thread. I don't make them any longer but it's not that hard to do. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?1427-Freebird-Centerstand-Installation

clear view windshield
Freebird replied to cheny's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
I would call and ask them. Last I heard, they were waiting on the material to black out the bottom but was told that they had received it. Haven't heard anything more.
