  1. Nothing in the video at all. I just wondered how it fit in with the discussion about people trying to spam our site. Nothing wrong with the video. When I saw that she works for a VPN provider, it just made me think of the other stuff I posted about. Somebody here had mentioned at some point that you shouldn't ban people based on their IP addresses because they could be using a VPN. I was just saying that the IPS address is only one of a list of criteria that I use. BUT...if the IP address is from China, Pakistan, India, etc., they are typically banned very quickly.
  2. I'm not sure what that has to do with the discussion of spammers trying to access our site except to say that maybe I am banning legit users that may be using a VPN. Not sure. I will say this though, I use a number of criteria to decide whether or not to ban anybody. I will also say that probably 100% of those who sign up and state that they are from New York, Alabama, and almost everywhere else you can think of but their IP addresses clearly show that they are from China, India, etc., get banned. Is it possible that I occasionally ban a legit member, possible but not likely in my opinion. If people are so paranoid that they falsify their information when signing up, I really don't care that they get banned. I can assure you that very few legit people get banned when I use the multiple criteria that I use. Not only IP addresses but other things also that I won't reveal publicly. I very occasionally get an email from somebody who says that their registration was denied due to being on a spam list. That has never been one that I banned personally but was caught by anti-span software that I have installed. I usually trade a couple of emails with them to verify that they are legit and then set up their account manually. I have never, a single time, received an email from somebody that I personally banned based upon the criteria that I use. I think that I go above and beyond to keep our site free of spammers. I will continue to do so and if I inadvertently ban a potential member then so be it. If they contact me, I will correct it but otherwise, I don't give it another thought. Mine is not a perfect system but it is serving us well.
  3. One note. The stock mufflers have a gasket. You will not use it with the Harley mufflers.
  4. I have one that I will loan to you. PM me your address and I'll get it in the mail.
  5. I've been trying to think of his name ever since responding to this post. I knew it was Rick Butler but now remember, his partner was Dave Henderson.
  6. Also, KuryAkyn does make weights for their grips.
  7. I know of no recent outages. I check the site many times per day and have had no issues.
  8. Just finished my morning ritual of banning the spammers. Every single day there are at least a dozen trying to get into our forum. Mostly from China but some from the Ukraine, Vietnam, and some from India. As well as a few other places but China is the majority. I'm going to see about blocking all traffic from China. It gets old. 99.9% get banned before they are ever able to post anything. I would guess that there are very few, if any at all, Ventures in China.
  9. I don't remember seeing your post about it or I would have told you. Rick and his partner formed Tri-Star industries many years ago. It has long been gone but they made a lot of windshields back ion the day as well as other parts for the Ventures.
  10. You have to be really careful with blood pressure medicine. My doctor prescribed some for me several months ago and it was a fairly low dose but was too much. I installed a stairlift one morning and was on the way home when I almost passed out while driving. Pulled over to the side of the road and sat for a while. Finally felt I could make it on home but had to pull over twice more before getting there. Finally got home an checked my blood pressure and it was way too low. Don't remember for sure but something like 65 over 40.
  11. I think only the '99 models were missing the additional supprort and large washers. They didn't actually recall them but came out with a free support kit. Nothing was sent out to owners but members of the forums and etc. became aware of the fix.
  12. Don't know what you are trying to post but that link doesn't seem to be it.
  13. I saw them at my local hardware store today.
  14. Don't give it another thought. We all do it at one time or another. It was just a friendly reminder.
  15. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Some people just don't get it. Our pets become a part of our family, some more than others I suppose. Some just seem to work their way deep into our hearts. We all know that the day is coming but that doesn't make it any easier.
  16. I will remind all parties that personal attacks are not welcome in our forum. People won's always agree. If that's the case, just ignore what you don't agree with and let it go.
  17. Slipping is is a sign of a weak clutch spring, not the second gear issue. Easy to replace the clutch spring. The second gear issue causes it to pop out of second gear, not slip.
  18. Better than I could do.
  19. LOL...NO PICTURES of your welds.
  20. Clearview makes a great wide shield with vent.
  21. OK, I looked and they are Goodyear radials and made in the USA. Clearly marked for trailer use only.
  22. I will have to take a close look. I know that the were Goodyear but that and the size were all I noticed. They are out by the shed, I'll take a look later.
  23. Would have loved something like that but just wasn't going to spend the money. Plus, I would have had to buy a truck though. I wanted something I could pull with my Toyota Tacoma.
  24. Older boat but the trailer is a 2018. Tires shouldn't have been that bad but oh well. It was gone over before I bought it. Tilt sensor was replaced. Motor and outdrive are as clean or cleaner than the boat. Haven't taken it out yet but started it hooked to a water hose and it started instantly. Tilt and Trim seemed to word fine. Stereo works well and Hummingbird combo unit seems good too. What amazed me the most was the upholstery. Everything I looked at that was 80's and 90's needed much interior work. Seats were all cracked and a mess. This one doesn't have a rip or tear anywhere and vinyl is still sold and pliable.
  25. Looks like a great fishing boat. I used to have a small Sea Nymph. 17 ft. I think with a 70 HP Johnson. Never gave me a minutes trouble. Sold it and bought a 28 ft. Regal cabin cruiser. Nice boat but weighed about 8,000 lbs. and was a pain to trailer. Finally sold it.
