I agree with Yammer, those look just like Jardines to me, they are the same diameter through out, unlike stock with turndowns. I have had Jardines on my 83 for about 16 years and they still look good even though they are getting a bit louder or I am getting a bit older. When at WOT, they sound like a small block Chevy with glasspaks.
As far as MKI vs MKII bags, there is no doubt that MKII is a lot better for packing, but to me, the MKI bags go much better with it being a little more of a sport touring bike. The MKII bags and bigger trunk made the 1st gen look like it has a lot bigger butt.
I think that for what you do in your riding style, an MKII would be a good bike for you. It should have a little more bottom end torque and you should be able to pack the kitchen sink now.
