  1. I don't know why Mazda never put the V-6 in the Miata. They are a bit tight for a small block Chevy, but you can put a small block Ford engine in them. That would have been more of a "man's" car to me. When I put a 350 Chevy in my 240Z back in 79, it was like Datsun had designed the car for a V-8. It was a little tight in some places, but still fit. I put 156,000 miles on that car with a 350 and later a 327. RandyA
  2. To me, this the first day of spring. When racing starts, I know that we are real close to having some warm weather. In fact, it is supposed to be in the low 60's today. But, we will have to deal with this cold wave coming south as the week goes on. Obviously, one of the unique things about today's race is the return on the #3 car. I think if it was going to happen, this is probably the best way it could be done. I used to be a big fan of Nascar and would usually schedule my weekends around it. Now, I don't even go to Bristol and I live within 20 miles of that track. Bristol just got too big with 165,000 fans. RandyA
  3. Hope you have a great one David and many more!!! RandyA
  4. Speaking of plugs, with the bike cold, start the bike up and let it run for 20 seconds or so and touch each pipe and see if they are all warm. These bikes will run on 3 or even 2 cylinders and you may have a bad spark plug. RandyA

  6. Took care of it.
  7. Went for a ride today here in NE TN and it was 77 degrees and beautiful. I was down to about one bar in gas and I put about a half can of Seafoam in and let it idle and then sit for a while. I took it for a ride, cranking it on a bit and then filled it up with no ethanol gas. After riding for a while, I did a couple of 1st gear pulls up to about 8,000 rpm's and it was hang on for dear life with the V-Max final drive. Sorry about hi-jacking your thread, but I just couldn't help it. RandyA
  8. Worked in the yard some today, mowed up some leaves that had blown around. Cranked up the bike that probably had not run in a month or two and did it all while wearing shorts. It is supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow and may get the bike out and go for a little ride. RandyA
  9. Dave, you will need to let us know when you get down here and we can get together. RandyA
  10. Did any of you with the wobble have Avon Venom tires? RandyA
  11. I think he is talking 2 inches of snow and 4 days off. I think you are suffering from snow blindness. RandyA
  12. Wow, a half century old!!!! I wish I was that age and know what I know now. RandyA
  13. What pressure does the A/C pump run? RandyA
  14. I wish. RandyA
  15. Linda and I thank you very much and did have a great time at dinner. It was good to put a face with a name. I look forward to the opportunity to ride together and to share so many great things to see and experience in this area. If you can learn to live at a bit slower pace, you will enjoy it here. Thanks Squid for your kind words as it means a great deal to us. RandyA
  16. Since probably no more than 10% of the folks that go to Freebird's MD go there to work on bikes, why does a get together during that time period have to be a maintenance event? Why can't some propose putting together a fun rally get together without it being based upon working on bikes? I know it is a great opportunity for those that need it, but that part only affects a few. Some things could be done, like carb syncs, but it would be difficult to do tire changes. RandyA
  17. Some times ya just don't know if they are bragging or complaining. Good on both of ya. RandyA
  18. Man, I've got to get the lawnmower fixed. RandyA
  19. The only problem I have ever had with the foot light switch was when the small spring came loose or broke. RandyA
  20. No, I think he flipped up a piece of metal that was in the road and I took his comment about black ice as being oil, but I may be wrong. RandyA
  21. To me, any green coolant is probably good and they are all now designed for aluminum engines. I think I usually Prestone. I have always added distilled water with the antifreeze, but now they are pushing the 50/50 stuff. RandyA
  22. This might be like the hammer story; "This was my great, great, grandfather's hammer and the handle has been replaced twice and the head once, but it is still the same hammer". Hummm... RandyA
  23. Man, how did you deal with all the oil that was dumped out in front of the rear tire? We need more information than this. That could have been real bad. Glad you were not hurt. RandyA
  24. I don't think so as the headers exit the heads differently on the 2nd gen vs the 1st gens. But, I would be interested in what the 4 into 2 headers you are talking abut look like. RandyA
  25. Whatever the reason, we hope everything is going to be ok. RandyA
