  1. Wow, Linda and I were at the Pinnacle Overlook at Cumberland Gap on Thursday evening. Sounds like you had a great ride. Being from NE TN, you were in my back yard. RandyA
  2. I think this fits a few of us. "The older I get, the faster I was". RandyA
  3. This thread is over six months old. What ever happened? Did you make the trip? RandyA
  4. Well, I was born in 1950 and I remember all this stuff. Thanks for posting this. RandyA
  5. I think the Sheriff just wanted it to be the grand jury to make the final decision so there would not be any question of guilt. In my opinion in viewing the video several times, the car in front of Stuart had to swerve to miss Ward and he then stepped even closer to the center of the track. He obviously screwed up, but whether Stuart could have missed him may only be really known by Stuart. Sprint cars are very unique and are set up with bigger tires on the outside rear to help turn left. Hitting the brakes in a left hand turn with this set up may cause the car to jump right even more. 6. I thought I was the only one having this problem. For a single picture, I just click on it several times and for a row of pictures, I do the back and forth dance on next and previous. Sometimes it will skip a picture. I am having so many problems with my laptop that I just figured this was just part of it. RandyA
  7. Thanks, it appears to be back now. RandyA
  8. I can not get any of the ebay sites I have saved or listed to come up. RandyA
  9. I don't know, but it might be some form of venturerideritis or some type of brain fungus that has not been named yet. RandyA
  10. I have not worn a wedding ring or a ring of any kind since I went into the USAF. We were required to not have any rings of any kind on while around the flightline. Working around electrical stuff, I saw first hand what a ring can do. I also saw what a ring can do when a guy walks up to an F-4 Phantom and climbs up a short ladder to drop the flight log into the seat and then drop to the ground. Unfortunately, his ring got caught on a screw or something and from his big knuckle to where the ring was, there was only a bloody tube. Nope, no rings for me. RandyA
  11. I thought our stators charge at max load all the time and it is the regulators job to dissipate too much power going to the battery or electrical system. RandyA
  12. Puc, you are obviously one very lucky man. Not so sure about Tippy though. You two are a couple to be envied. RandyA
  13. I don't usually get involved with series type TV shows, but I have gotten involved with Manhattan, about building the first atomic weapon and I am hooked. RandyA
  14. If you are being attacked by clowns, go for the juggler. RandyA
  15. The 30,000 engine I just put in is also an 83 engine. It just has the 2nd gen trans. I am using the same carbs, but I used the igniters that were in the 30,000 engine. I know I will feel a big difference with the gearing, but I am using a V-max final drive on both and 1st gear is about identical. The old engine just came on so much stronger that it is like it had V-Max cams too. I got the bike almost 19 years ago with 23,000 miles on it. I don't know the history of the bike before I got it, but it did have a lot of add ons that were not stock. RandyA
  16. Thanks for the update and glad it is as positive as it is. Yep, those sinus infections can be real nasty stuff. Like the doc said, it is not a "cold", it a whole different thing. Hope you get this thing whooped soon so you can get some "real" therapy. RandyA
  17. Yep, that brought tears to my eyes. Thanks Eck, I needed a good laugh this morning. RandyA
  18. I remember many years ago reading an article about drunk driving and the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that about 65% of DUI offenders were initially pulled over for not having their lights on. This was long before cell phones and cars with automatic headlights, but I always found that interesting. RandyA
  19. Snopes says it is all false. RandyA
  20. I am still playing around with why the 30,000 engine that I just put in does not have the rush of power from about 5,000 RPM's up compared to the 167,000 mile engine did. The bike runs good, just not as strong under wide open throttle. I may check the boost sensor anyway. I have a couple of spares somewhere. RandyA
  21. Yep. RandyA
  22. Ya snooze, ya loose. RandyA
  23. Not sure about other 83 engines on oil consumption, but the engine I just took out of my 83 with 167,000 miles on used about a half quart in about 5,000 miles and this engine has been run very hard. RandyA
  24. Just got the MKII TCI in the mail that I won off ebay for $10.50. I swapped the vacuum hoses around and plugged up the TCI and the bike started right up and sounds great. I can not take it for a ride as it is pouring the rain. RandyA
  25. Hey, I just received an MKII TCI in the mail that I won for $10.50 off ebay. I took the cover off and it looked very good inside. I took it out to the garage and plugged it up to the bike after swapping vacuum hoses around and it started up perfectly and the bike sounds great. WAHOO. :cool10::cool10: RandyA
