  1. One more thing you need to do, add this header information so when someone reads your post, they will not have to go to your profile to see what kind of bike you are taking about. Otherwise, you will need to note what bike you are talking about in your post. 2. What makes you think it must be overhauled? RandyA
  3. I have never had one of my pictures show up in the pictures above and I suspect it is because I have never put anything in the photobucket, only in individual posts. RandyA
  4. Wow, I have never seen a rotor than damaged, especially on a motorcycle. I am also surprised you did not get more milage on your pads. Like said, you must be a heavy rear braker. RandyA
  5. Very interesting videos. Thanks for posting. RandyA
  6. Price of oil hit $67.75 earlier today. It has gone back up a little over a buck since for about a $4.60 drop today. Different that most other tax revenues, when the price of gas goes down and people use more gas, there is more tax revenue because it is taxed per gallon, not per dollar spent. RandyA
  7. If you are having brake fluid coming out your shifter linkage, I suspect the master or a hose is leaking and migrating down a wire or something to the linkage. As far as the in and out slop, there should be "C" clips and washers to minimize this. RandyA
  8. Thanks for sharing Steamer. It is good to see green trees and folks in short sleeve shirts. I have never stayed at the motel, how was it? Randy
  9. Yep Eck, there are a lot of our members that are not on the map. I think your suggestion is a great idea with the map. RandyA
  10. If you connected the wire to the battery without the resistor earlier, you may have damaged the CMU, even though it did work for a while. Start with the basics, check the continuity thru the resistor. If it bad, consider yourself lucky and replace it. RandyA
  11. [quote=azxvz1284;874455 Man, this is a heavy bike! Richard in AZ What kind of bike is it? Maybe you could include that in your header. RandyA http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?90684-Help-us-to-Help-you-with-your-bike-info-in-your-header-updated-to-new-forum
  12. Yeah, it went for $237.50 with five bids and no I did not bid on it. I tend to be a last second bidder and will list my maximum bid that I am willing to pay. If it goes for more than that, then I don't feel like I lost out on anything. Just curious, did you do more than the one bid? I started to call you earlier, but you did not have your phone number in your profile. RandyA
  13. Hey puc, since they are going to be working around your nose, are they going to shave your beard off? All razzing aside, you are definately in out thoughts and prayers. RandyA
  14. I was thinking about bidding on it, but for me, the pickup round trip is a bit much. You are much closer and I hope it works out for you. RandyA
  15. This may be a good option, but you will have to hurry. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141471619425?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT RandyA
  16. Yep, I now remember us talking about that before. Like I said, unless I was misreading and I was. RandyA
  17. I suspect you have a cylinder that got rusty from getting water in it. That is why I asked if it stopped suddenly, or would still move some. You may have to take the carbs and manifolds off so you can look down into the top of the valves. If there has been water in it, you will see a lot of crud on top of the valves. RandyA
  18. Diesel engines are probably the toughest environment for any oil. Given this, I started using diesel oil years ago and feel it works great for any vehicle that I have, whether it is my Infiniti, the bike or lawn mowers. RandyA
  19. This bike (85) is No. 4off the assembly line with the factory 2nd gear issue resolved. That's why I'm keeping it. Not sure it's worth it but so far the '84 has no 2nd gear issue with 65 to 66k miles showing on the odometer. Unless I am missreading your comment, it sounds like just because the bike is an 85, it does not have the 2nd gear issues. Actually, the 2nd gear extended into 85 to about the 1413 bike. I don't think the 2nd gear issue is an absolute on a 83/85 1st gen, but it is highly likely from what I have seen. RandyA
  20. I want to switch the bulbs to LED's and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to go. I have heard that some are not happy with the brightness of some bulbs they have tried. I know there are entire light assemblies, but I was hoping to stay with the the same housings that I have. RandyA
  21. Wanting to start getting parts together for the brake upgrade to MKII forks and R1 calipers. Looking on ebay, there are a lot of R1 calipers available, but is there any particular year calipers that I want? I am also planning on delinking, so what do I need to do about front master? Do I need to go to a 14mm master and if I do, what am I looking for? RandyA
  22. OK, first of all, welcome to the forum. Can you give us a little history as in did this happen all at once? How long have you had the bike? Did it lock up while you were riding it? Have you put it on the center stand and moved the rear wheel while trying to shift it? Did you take the round cover off the engine on the left side and put a socket on the nut and try to move the crank? If you put a socket and bar on the crank nut, when crank stops moving, is it sudden stop? OK, here are a few things to think about and maybe we can help out a little better. RandyA
  23. Wow, you old softy, you. Congradulations Eck and Konnie. RandyA
  24. I hope you enjoy this, I did. RandyA http://www.wimp.com/dadscar/
