Hey, my inseam is so short that my feet barely reach the ground, even when I am not on the bike. The thing that has helped me the most is I picked up a Corbin seat off ebay that needed some repair and when I had the cover off, I scooped out about an inch and a half of foam. It is also much more comfortable than the stock. I also tweek on my rear shock pressure and run about 25 to 30psi one up and up to 65 when two up and pulling the camper. It did make it a bit more of a problem when I installed the Progressive springs in the front forks, but I am getting used to it. The main thing is just being very aware of where you are stopping and where you have to put your feet down. RandyA

I honestly do not think I would be sitting here right now if it had not been for my air horns. There were some real close calls that the ONLY thing that got their attention was my air horns. And these were events I could not have avoided. I wish more of us would get serious about air horns. RandyA

Some states will allow a title off a bill of sale, but with one bill of sale only for the entire bunch probably would not work too good. RandyA

Hey Ryan, Glad you are one of us MKI guys. Given your's is an 85, I am curious as to the last four of the serial number. This is because there is a cutoff point where the 2nd gear problem that is so common on the earlier bikes was fixed. I don't remember the exact number, but for some reason 1413 or something close to that keeps coming to mind. Maybe someone will give us both an update on this. RandyA

One other thing to look for is to see if a throttle cable has been pinched. SGN can fill you in on this. There is a point where the cables can get pinched if they were not routed correctly. RandyA -

Asking advise for Sky Line Dr & BRP

Would a week or more be too long for you? I say this because not only is the time on the BRP wonderful, but there are a bunch of things to explore along the way. There are many small motels that are definitely motorcycle friendly. These are places you can leave your trailers and explore some really neat rides. An example of this would be in the Little Switzerland area between Boone and Asheville. There are several small motels there along with the Little Switzerland Chalet, which has areas set aside for motorcycles. If you stayed in that area, the wonderful riding roads are really great. It is not far to Mt Mitchell, which is the highest mountain east of the Mississippi. Dropping off the mountain in either direction on 280 between Mt. Mitchell and Little Switzerland is a great ride. East is known on here as the Tail of the Rooster and to me is a better ride than the Tail of the Dragon. Off the west side takes you down to Carolina Hemlocks Park, a great place to camp and swim, especially snorkel, but I must warn you, the water is a bit on the cool side. You may wonder where things are hiding. There are a lot of good places to eat, some are a little pricey and many are mom and pop places. There are some great walks to waterfalls and vistas to see. There are many neat mountain towns within 10 miles or so of the parkway. Also, there are several members with in an hour or closer to the BRP and may want to join you for a visit. RandyA -
OK, I also just reread the post and am having a hard time figuring out where you are coming from. I also know Eck and he truly is a great guy. He is a very compassionate and caring man. But we need to quit saying that because he don't need to get a bigger head than he already has. He is already having a hard time putting his helmet on. Not to imply you are a fathead Eck, but if the helmet fits(actually, too tight), well, you know what I mean. RandyA

Well, I cranked her up again today and took about a 40 mile ride. She really does like this cool weather as it was about 56º. I just had to crank it on a couple of times and boy did she run strong. Today did put a bit of a dent in my PMS. RandyA

The other day when we had a high of about 22º, I warmed my car to change the oil and while out on the carport, I started the bike. I turned on the ignition key, flipped the kill switch about 6 times, pulled the choke lever about 3/4 and hit the button. About a second later, it fired to life and ran about two seconds. I hit it again and it again fired to life and ran surprising well. I let it run until the temp gauge got close to the red and shut her down. With what I am going through in my life right now, the good Lord knew how much I needed to hear that sweet sound. RandyA

Any Nashville or Townsend Tennessee get togethers?

Last year or so we tried to set up a meet and eat around Townsend and it ended up being the longest running post for it never to happen. I took over after someone else suggested it, but could not get it going. I am a couple of hours away and love that area. RandyA -

Yesterday, it barely got above freezing after ten days in a row below freezing with night temps to 9º. Our normal highs here are about 44º for this time of year. This has been the longest time below freezing here on record. Yep, it's a ***** down there when you have to put up with that oppressive heat and humidity in the summertime and then cold too. I think I will just stay in these beautiful mountains of east Tennessee. RandyA

One thing you can do mini is turn off the breaker that runs the fireplace and see what else goes off. Like Dano said, it may be hard to tell how many things are on that circuit, without tracing them down. RandyS

I bet you I could make a nice bike out of it, but I would be doing it with much work, and not a lot of money. But I would be hard pressed to give anymore than $500 if it was just down the street. I suspect it probably has at least 60,000 miles if it is popping out of 2nd real bad, but it is cheap to fix. RandyA

Steve, I went yesterday to Wally World and bought a big bag of Kitty Litter and I got the cheap dusty kind. When oil is on concrete and 15º, it don't just wipe up. I hope the kitty litter does better. RandyA

Yep, Thursday evening I just had to get out of the house, even though there was more new snow than I realized. As I went down my driveway, which does have a good slope to it, and it got the best of me and when I came out into the road, I nailed my mailbox and ran the right front end of my Maxima under a barbed wire fence. Then when I tried to back up, the metal post ripped a hole in my oil pan. So, everything is just going peachy, if you know what I mean. RandyA
