  1. Wow Jeff, I didn't realize the trouble you have had with your Goldwing. I hope it works out for you as you need something you can depend on all the time. RandyA
  2. That was definately good, I am just not sure they want Mexican. Thanks for that suggestions. RandyA
  3. You may not be familiar with some of the cars available right now but there are some of the quickest and fastest cars ever produced. RandyA
  4. Tail of the Dragon is a neat ride. It is very motorcycle oriented and has a good stopover near the top on the North Carolina side with a restaurant, campground and cabins. If you stay within the speed limit, and on the weekend there may be LEO everywhere, it will be a slow ride as the limit is 30 mph. It is a better ride during the week as on a nice weekend it is like getting in a motorcycle train. You may also have to deal with some crotch rockets or even cruisers that try to ride beyond their capability. There are great roads to ride all over this area with many being as good as the Dragon. Some have even more and tighter curves with 55 mph speed limits. RandyA
  5. The dim light is very indicative of a cold solder joint in the CMS. RandyA
  6. The Hour Glass is long gone. Now we have the Mouse's Ear. I reckon now there is not much left to the imagination as I believe the only thing they wear is their shoes. RandyA
  7. Man, I was about half way through the second page and had to run an errand. As soon as I came back in I cranked up the pooter and it was gone. Oh well, it is winter and some of us do suffer with PMS and can get a bit touchy. RandyA KIC are you going to make double sure we see your apology with the double post?
  8. With my bike being a standard without CB and intercom, I picked up a Royale left side handle grip with the PPT button and wired my remote garage door opener thru it and mounted the opener on the inside of the fairing between the headlight and signal light. If you used the high beam circuit, does that mean your sending unit is sending out a signal all the time the high beams are on? On mine, which has a battery inside, I just wired across the button contacts and the PPT button now closes that circuit. RandyA
  9. I just put it on one side. Make sure the surface is real clean like you wiped it with an alcohol pad. It may help to do a test fit a couple of times as it can be a little tricky getting the forks to line up. Also, I just put it on the surfaces that are exposed to the outside. RandyA
  10. As for now, Bob and Becky are planning on being in Johnson City, Tn this Thursday evening around 7PM. We hope to get some of the locals and anyone else that would like to meet up for a get together and have a visit and a meal. The location has not been picked yet and am open for suggestions. For anyone that wants to get together, please let me know so we can put something together. If my number is not in your phone, it is in my profile. RandyA
  11. I was looking at one for Linda a year or so ago and was amazed at the difference between the Kelly Blue Book value and what people wanted. Given this, you may need a lot of cash instead of financing it. KBB value in excellent condition, that's the top 3%, is only about $5,200 with 88k miles. RandyA
  12. The 1st thing I would do is reverse the hoses around on the meter if it has four separate hoses. The reason for this is there may be some type of restrictor that helps with the pulses to smooth them out. See if the pulses stays with the meter or stays with the carbs. My 1st inclination if you have a lot of pulsing is an intake valve leak that is spitting back a little. Or as already mentioned, some type of vacuum leak. You can spray some starter fluid around the base of the carbs and intake manifolds and see if it makes a difference. If you do have a vacuum leak, you will need to fix that before you will ever get a proper carb sync. RandyA
  13. I have always been intrigued by this bike and actually liked the styling. But, there was always something that I did not like about it. I think I just figured it out and it is that the fairing extends too far forward covering part of the front wheel. If the fairing had been recessed a little more under the front, more like a 1st gen, I think the bike would have looked better. RandyA
  14. We had a death Friday when a 63 year old woman in a van turned in front of a 39 year old man on what appeared to be a crotch rocket. RandyA
  15. I think he meant to say venturer's forum, so it don't have to be captalized. RandyA
  16. Tennessee is due yearly on end of month purchased. My Maxima and El Camino are about $28 each. Bike I believe is about $14 and trailer under 16 feet does not require tags. I like it in Tennessee and we also do not a state income tax. RandyA
  17. Not a big Madonna fan, but that was one of the better half time shows. Some great gymnastic moves. Caught last half of National Anthem and it even seemed pretty good for a change. RandyA
  18. If your rotors just show the usual score marks, I would just replace the pads with EBC HH and let it go. they will break in and you will be fine. All this is if they are not too thin at this point or bent. Ran dyA
  19. With it being an 83, the six clutch springs can be upgraded and most llikely will solve the slipping problem. This is an easy fix and can be done with the springs and a gasket. The oil does not have to be drained. Randy
  20. I am curious, what are you refering to when you are saying "lower casing"? Are you refering to the lower half of the engine? RandyA
  21. Glad to see you back Thom. I have been wondering how you are doing. RandyA
  22. I guess this won't count as a workman's comp case will it? RandyA
  23. Just curious why you are still running air in the forks if the bike is hitting the top at bumps? When I put progressives in my 83, I did not put any spacer preload and it has worked perfect for me. The bike does set a little higher than before. RandyA
  24. when I realized my son is a grandfather. RandyA
  25. when I got to thinking about how attractive Mrs Howell was on Gilligan's Island. add yours RandyA
