  1. Recycled, as in another 1st gen or just using last years birthday card over again. Maybe we can keep the same card going and one of these days it will have about 900 responses, kinda like another post I know. Happy Birthday buddy and I hope it is a good one!!!!! RandyA
  2. Hey Annie, this thread is almost five years old, but knowing this bunch, maybe someone can give you an update on Charlie. RandyA
  3. Yep, I would love to have that bike. RandyA
  4. Linda and I were talking the other day about what a great couple that you two are. Congratulations on your anniversary. RandyA
  5. Interesting, I had a close encounter also yesterday. I took a street I had not taken in years that goes down a hill and you have to turn right or left. To the right the visibility was good, but to the left it was somewhat limited vision. But, with the speed limit being 30 mph, there is still plenty of room to get out safely. Unless, you have some woman in a SUV coming around the curve doing at least 50 mph and she just about nailed me. I made it out ok with her horn blaring, so I cranked up my air horns also. I almost turned around to let her know that if she had not been exceeding the speed limit, we would not have had a close call. So, I just let her go on thinking that some idiot on a motorcycle almost ruined her day. Sometimes you have to just accept that you can't fix stupid. RandyA
  6. Thanks, I will show him that one. He has a 96 1500 wing and while at Asheville, he rode Sylwoody's bike and bought him one. He got an 09 with 11,000 miles for I think $9,300. He is going up to get it this weekend. I will get him on here when things settle down. RandyA
  7. Friend just bought an 09 Venture from PA that he will be getting this weekend and he needs a hitch to go on it. Anyone have any suggestions where he can get one? Thanks, RandyA
  8. And grease your driveshaft splines on both ends!!! RandyA
  9. I wish you could have made Asheville, but if we had known you were going to be in the area, we may have been able to get together. RandyA
  10. His last activity was 8-12-12 and his profile shows him with mountains in the background. I guess he just never gave us and update and I was wondering what he thought about the mountains also. RandyA
  11. I went to bikini side panels years ago and do not plan on going back. To me, they are cooler than with the full side panels in place. RandyA
  12. I've got Nascar locally this weekend too. Bristol!!!!:cool10: Like flying a fighter plane inside a gymnasium. 165,000 crazy race fans all the way around the track with no bad seats. RandyA
  13. The baffles in the collector do not re-route the exhaust as you would think a baffle would do. But, the baffles in the collector is sheetmetal that has some small holes, like a screen that lays against the walls of the collector. This gives a slight dampening effect on the noise and by removing them or at least removing the loose ones, I don't think you will change the loudness very much. I have Jardines on mine that are at least 14 years old and have gotten a bit louder, but I don't think that removing the collector baffles made much difference. RandyA
  14. No, I have no idea. I just went on Comcast, my provider, and installed the security stuff they offer. I would still like to do a cleanout, but everytime I look at one of the free ones, I can not seem to get past the pay part. RandyA
  15. ME???? RandyA
  16. What is blinking? Is it the red light? As Dingy asked, are any of the icons on the computer screen coming on? RandyA
  17. The RSTD has a wider spaced gearset than a 2nd gen Venture. As you can see, comparing 5th gear on each. an RSTD is .750 and the Venture is .786. Numerically, the lower the number, the higher it is geared. RandyA
  18. Actually, that is exactly what I was going to suggest. You could pick up an early 2nd gen Venture and the 93 with low miles for what a newer 2nd gen would cost and have the best of both worlds. I know the 2nd gen Ventures are geared different than the RSTD's, but I was also thinking the Venture had a little more horsepower. RandyA
  19. Very good answer Blackjack. Yes, they are different bikes and a lot of 2nd genners know very little about a 1st gen, actually, many 2nd genners know very little about a 2nd gen, other than how to put gas in it and how to take it back to the dealer. I have to admit, I would like to add a 2nd gen to my bikes, but for the fun, screaming to 8,000 rpm's and throwing it around kind of riding, I would definately want to keep my 1st gen, especially with it being an MK1. RandyA
  20. Check the obvious first. Does the fan spin freely or is there something, like a piece of gravel or something, that has it bound up? Is the fan blade tight on the motor? On a 1st gen, if you drop your keys, they love to get behind the radiator, not sure about a 2nd gen, so could something have dropped down from the top?. RandyA
  21. I am getting the same thing. I tried to open something so it would open the file and it just want $29.95 to fixed stuff it showed up on a scan. Thanks everyone and my problem is I need step by step instructions to do anything on here. RandyA
  22. When I turned on my laptop a little while ago, a screen came up that said I had been viewing copy righted material or even child porn and the FBI had locked up my computer. The only way I could get it unlocked was to got to a store that sells the green cards and put $100 on it and use the information to load on to their page and within 1 to 48 hours, my computer would be unlocked. The only way I could get around it was to manually shut down my computer with the on/off button and then when I hit the on button, I held the ESC button until it came up in the safe mode. I was able to do a restore to an earlier date and when I restarted it, it seems to be working OK. I checked with Snopes and there are some Sober viruses that sound similar to this. Has anyone heard of this? RandyA
  23. As long as the guys are in the building and still armed, keep shooting. RandyA
  24. That's some pretty serious hedge trimmers. RandyA
  25. Thanks Kenny for the update and hope she does fine. It was great getting to meet you in Asheville and hope we can get together again. RandyA
