  1. I changed the link earlier and just tried it and it went right to the movie. RandyA
  2. I wish it was mine and I was down there with it. That area is on my bucket list. RandyA
  3. I believe the best way to do this is to get some good hose and do the bolt and clamps on all four ports. I did the caps many years ago and I have had a couple of times that the caps gave out. If you cut the hoses and did the bolt/clamp thing on the inside two, it may last for a while, but this tends to be a point that the original hoses deteriate the most. Yes, with that big of a vacuum leak, it will do all kinds of bad things. If you synced before the leak recently, you are probably good to go after replugging it. RandyA
  4. I suspect that the most common reason the signal canceler quits is the pickup on the back of the speedometer comes loose. It is a small strip that is glued into a slot that picks up a magnetic signal from the speedometer. Over a period of time the glue dries out and it will come loose. Easy to check by taking the windshield and trim off and the cover on the dash. A good glue for this is a sticky contact cement. One other thing, your speedometer must still be working for this to work. RandyA
  5. Wow, this is one of those things you don't want to hear and if you do, you want to know there is an optimistic outcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with him. RandyA
  6. It is really interesting to see these bikes, even race bikes and know that there are a lot of street bikes that are faster and handle better now. RandyA
  7. It is hard to believe it has been over 41 years since this movie was released. If there ever was a classic motorcycle movie, this was it. Not only was it a great motorcycle documentary, but it was also funny. Steve McQueen was great in it. I remember I had been in the USAF about two and a half years and saw it at the local theater. When it was over, I just wanted to sit there and enjoy the feeling of the love of motorcycling, even though it had been years since I had had one. I am not sure if you have to download zulu to watch this, but if you are interested, here is a link. Enjoy, RandyA http://www.hulu.com/#!watch/79438
  8. Fantastic!!!!!!! Maybe when he is ready to ride there will be 3rd gen Venture and he can make fun of the old 2nd gens and appreciate the classic 1st gens. Ya done good. RandyA
  9. I suspect you also are very low on fork oil. Do you see any signs of leaking around the seals? RandyA
  10. Sorry I can not respond in French, I have a hard time understanding northern yankee sometimes. RandyA
  11. No, not a Harley. Linda and I were taking a ride down a country road that I had never been on before in SW VA and came around a blind curve and walking across the road was a big black hog. He was just taking his time and did not hurry one bit when I came toward him. I guess one of the good things about losing the vision in my right eye is I am a lot more cautious about coming around a blind curve and not out driving farther than I can see. Fortunately, in this case, I was able to avoid the hog as I don't think it would have turned out good for any of us. RandyA
  12. It sounds like you guys are using a lot of gas and having a lot of fun. My last three tanks averaged 45-46 miles per gallon. RandyA
  13. Happy Birthday Gary and hope you have many more. RandyA
  14. I would love to come down as it was two years ago on my birthday when Linda and I were down there, but, I don't think I will make it. Hope you guys have a great time. RandyA
  15. Thank you guys. This is one of those special birthdays as I turned 62. I am now offically past middle age, therefore I am just old. RandyA
  16. Don, I wish you and Susan the best. Mothers are special and her suffering is now over. Rejoice in her life and you will have many fond memories. RandyA
  17. Proper savaging does have an impact for better power output, but to make it even more effective, it is also important to consider equal pipe length. With the rear pipes being a bit shorter than the front pipes, it would be difficult to determine which combination of paired cylinders would work best. It may even match better at one RPM and be counter productive at another RPM. RandyA
  18. What is the last four of the Vin number? Sounds like the typical 2nd gear problem except you are saying it is happening in more than one gear. RandyA
  19. When you are doing a compression check, are you opening the throttle to let air in? To me, you should also open the slides, as that would also imped proper air flow to get a proper compression reading. If you had an intake valve stuck and not closing, you would have constant back firing through that carb if the spark plug was firing. RandyA
  20. Hey, this is no excuse, your absence on this site has caused a tremendous amount of trauma to many of us. I would be surprised that some did not have to be committed due to withdrawal symptoms. Thanks for the update and it will get better. RandyA
  21. If I stated the way I feel about this, it would not only get this post pulled immediately, it would probably get me banned for life. RandyA
  22. Also, take short 5-10 minute breaks where you get off the bike and walk around a little. That helps us when getting tired. RandyA
  23. Well, did you make it home? RandyA
  24. That's a new one on me. It may be a gas problem and I don't care for ethanol, but I don't think that is it. Are you getting gas from different places with ethanol and having the same problem or has this just happened? RandyA
  25. Linda and I also plan on leaving around 2-ish, so if anyone wants to meet up for dinner, either before or after the service, let us know. 423-726-0431 RandyA
