  1. From what I understand, this is fairly normal as you body is trying to get all that crap out of your lungs now that they are starting the cleaning process. Keep in mind that smoking in not a normal thing to do. You had to make yourself do it, as the first time for about everyone is an unpleasant experience. But, with the addictive nature of nicotine and for many, the desire to be "cool" was enough to get over the unpleasantness of starting to smoke. RandyA
  2. Bob, you ought to know by now that it is all about the ride, not the destination. RandyA
  3. You are supposed to be working Steve, not watching video's of V Max's. RandyA
  4. There are kits out there to convert our V-4 to chain drive. You can Google it. RandyA
  5. And another year bites the dust. Wow, ya better watch out or you are gonna to get old and I can tell you that the golden years ain't what they are cracked up to be. Have a good one buddy and I wish you many more. RandyA
  6. Yes, as I noted, her wireless works fine on my computer. Also, I did the unplug, wait for 20 seconds thing on the router and rebooted her computer and no change. I hope it is the switch. I will check it when I get to go see her. RandyA
  7. I tried that and it did not do anything. On my Compaq laptop, that button is always lit up white or orange and white is wireless. Her's does not have a light that I have seen. I will check on the "dip" switch when I can. RandyA
  8. Her's is a Toshiba also. When you use the troubleshoot option, it shows that there is a connection all the way to the computer. I will try all this when I can. RandyA
  9. Linda has lost the ability to get on the internet with her laptop. It was working fine using her wireless and she moved from one room to another and now it will not work. Her wireless still works fine for mine and it even shows a connection on hers, but it will not come up. Even setting beside the wireless router, it will not do anything. I have even reset it to work in the wired configuration, but it still will not come up. I have gone into the internet connection and set the homepage on yahoo and other pages and it still will not do anything. Any suggestions? RandyA
  10. Look exactly where you want to go!!! Normally this is thought of when you are going down the road at speed and realize you are cutting it close on making a curve. Don't look at the ditch or that is where you will go. Look where you want to go. This also works very good at slow speeds too. If you are making a sharp turn, even doing a u-turn in the road, look at the point on the road you want to track. You will be surprised how well your brain will work in adjusting speed, amount of lean and braking that you will need to do. Just stay focused on the path you want to go. RandyA
  11. The one thing you always have to keep in mind is there are some real crazy people out there. There are people right on the edge looking for a fight and would not think anything about blowing someone away, especially if they thought they could get away with it. Also, with some of the drugs on the street right now, such as meth and bath salts and other stuff, these people don't care who is right or wrong. They are already crazy and don't care who they attack. And, even if you carry, you may still not have much of an opportunity to evaluate the situation before everything goes wrong. As hard as it is for me to do it, I just try to tell myself that the best thing thing to do is to get away from them as sooner or later they will run into someone just like them and they will take care of it. 12. I feel my bike has pretty much paid for itself since I purchased it for $2,100 dollars, almost 17 years ago and I have put about 135,000 miles on it. I have actually put very little money in it over the years and still ride it all the time. It sounds like you have done better than break even. RandyA
  13. If I am going to be out of site with my bike while at a store or even a restaurant, I will lock my helmet and put the GPS out of site. The main thing is to avoid all the hassle I would have to go through if my helmet was taken if I was on a trip. I also have the small Chatterbox unit on the passenger helmet and I would not want to loose that. Keep in mind there are many druggies out there that would think nothing of ripping off your helmets if they thought the could get one drug fix out of it. Again, if they have to work for it, that will deter many. I had a motorcycle stolen when I was about 14 and it was not a fun thing to do when I had to call my dad and get him to come get me at my girlfriends house. The bike was found later after it had been thrown off a bridge into a river. The guy that did it was shot point blank in the chest with a 12 gauge shot gun. RandyA
  14. When my 83 was knocked over by a truck, their insurance totaled my bike and sold it back to me for $200, with the original settlement being $3,660. I was told that technically the bike was totaled, but the lady doing the dealing with me told me that she doubted the insurance company would pursue going through the process of getting a salvage title, as it would cost them even more money. I never did receive a salvage title in the mail and when ever I have re-tagged the bike, there has never been a title concern. So, what it comes down to is in this situation, you may end up with a salvage title, or you may not, it just depends on whether the insurance wants to spend the money to get it retitled. RandyA
  15. Ouch!!! Please keep us posted and he is our prayers. Sounds like he has some serious facial injuries. RandyA
  16. Yeah, but the MKII rider only weighed 98 pounds and the MKI was two up, pulling a trailer. RandyA
  17. Look at the title, it's got a Hayabusa engine in it and the engine is pribably a lot lighter and several times more powerful. If these cars ran like this stock, they would not be called a Smart Car, but maybe a Wild and Crazy Fun Car:cool10:. RandyA
  18. Gee, how do we know she intentionally hit the guy? A witness says she was backing up slowly with the guy walking in front of the car and he started shooting at her. He was serving a felony warrant in plain clothes near her house. Maybe he was so focused on what he was doing that he walked out in front of her. She accidentally hits him and he pulls out a gun and maybe does not identify himself with her being able to hear him. She may have panicked and was trying to get away from a guy pointing a gun at her. This sounds a lot more plausible than her intentionally running down a cop. RandyA
  19. I used to have about 1/3rd of a quart jar. But, I have shared so much with my friends that I have very little to spare. RandyA
  20. Looks like a MKI rotor to me. I wonder if someone swapped out the rear wheel and added spacers. RandyA
  21. I replaced the stock springs on my 83 at about 130,000 miles and even with 10psi air, they would bottom out routinely. I went to the Progressives with no preload spacers, 15 wt oil at 5 1/2 down and no air and mine has not bottomed out since and that is with it being loaded. RandyA
  22. I also took off the YICS and with the needle adjustment, it did not hurt power. RandyA
  23. My last three fill ups have been 45/46 mpg. That has been mixed riding, mostly 2 up running 45 to 55 with some interstate at 70+. On the last day of the Asheville Rally, Sylwoody on a 2nd gen and me on my 83 both filled up and on a trip from Asheville to Cherokee, both 2 up, with half on The Blue Ridge Parkway and the rest through Maggie Valley back to Asheville, I got 50 according to my odometer and 51 mpg according to Woody's. I wanted to compare to Woody, but he did not want to fill up as he was going to load his up in a trailer and tow back to AL. The biggest thing I did was purposely not use anymore throttle than I had to to maintain speed and used lower gears with the RPM up so I did not lug at all. I do believe the needle adjustment has helped my bike the most and I tried several settings to get any hesitation out when I got it too lean. RandyA
  24. As already said, we all probably did some dumb things when we were 16. I guess the difference was that many of us already had a lot of driving experience by the time we reached 16, I know I did. I wonder if the kid had gone through any driver's ed in school? It makes me wonder since he panic-ed and he confused the brake and the gas. RandyA
  25. This one might be fun. RandyA [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLtMh20qIp8&feature=plcp]SmartHAYABUSA - YouTube[/ame]
