  1. Hummmm.... Annie must be out enjoying the FIRST DAY OF SUMMER...... RandyA
  2. One of the things that surprises me about this forum is the number of people that will open a post and never make any kind of comment. An example of this is a birthday wish I made to another member yesterday and it has now had 69 views and not one single comment other than my original one. It is like we have a bunch of lurkers that never have anything to say. It says there was 70 viewing the Wateringhole and there has only been a few comments over the last hour. RandyA
  3. It is going to be in the upper 50's and that is going to be real cool to him. He should go the other way, toward Key West. RandyA
  4. 4...3...2...1...POOF! RandyA
  5. Heck Dan, you are one of the people that I come on here for. Just because you said something you should not have said and it got deleted does not mean you should not come on here because that means you are punishing me and I don't think that is fair. BTW, was it you that bought the 2nd gen transmission off Ebay the last day or so? RandyA
  6. It sure does appear that PMS (Parked Motorcycle Syndrome), is pretty bad this year, given some of the posts that needed to be deleted or locked. Surely, there is something interesting and fun that we can talk about. On another forum that I occasionally go to, and it is not motorcycle related, it has come down to about the only thing that is discussed is the G & P words. I come here for fun, entertainment and to learn things and occasionally be able to help others. There are some really great people on this forum and I really do appreciate having this site available. If you feel you must discuss or argue about those topics, I guarantee you that there are MANY forums out there that would absolutely welcome you aboard. RandyA
  7. I have always filled my 1st gen until the oil level is at the bottom of the threads. RandyA
  8. Maintenance Day at Freebird's year before last was the first trip for Linda and me for six days on the bike. When she came to my house with several bags of stuff, I had her spread everything out on the bed. When I started saying "You can't take this, you can't take that....", I thought she was going to get upset. She had things like a can of hairspray that was as big as a liter Coke and all kinds of stuff. Before we left the next morning, I went to Walmart and picked up most all of the stuff she wanted to bring in the little travel sizes and she was happy again. We were able to take everything we needed and things we did not use and still done fine. This says a lot because I always take a well stocked tool bag and I also took my laptop and for the 1st gen MKI's with the small bags, space is limited. I did take a bag that I put on the trunk rack that was fairly light and put my bike cover in front of the bag, which Linda used as an extended back rest. When all was said and done, we realized that with all we did, she never used the hairspray. RandyA
  9. Hope you are having a great birthday Mike and I hope Shirley is being good to you. ps: Linda says love and miss. Hope to see you soon. pss: She also says "Mike, isn't it nice to be younger than our mates"....ha ha. psss: She also says "Sorry about that Shirley", forgive me, love Linda. (She made me do it) RandyA

  16. After being part of the Verizon program for many years and paying way too much for a cell phone and hating to be under a contract, I finally switched over to Straight Talk. I am not one to want or need one of the smart phones so the simple program works fine for me. I like a simple flip phone that I can close so I went to Walmart and bought one with a camera for about $50 and did the "All you need" program with 1000 anytime minutes, 1000 text messages and some internet for $30 for 30 days. They use Verizon towers, so the service is the same. It is easy to do the auto-fill and it is $32 and change with tax. For those of you that want it, they have unlimited everything for $45 + tax for 30 days. After I determined I liked what I got, Linda and I decided to do the same thing for her. But when I signed up on line for mine, I found that they also offer a bunch of different phones and some are free. We ended up getting a flip phone for Linda that looked brand new that had been refurbished and all she had to do was pick out the phone, which was an LG and buy the first month program with no contract. There is no activation fee and you can keep your old number if it is still active. Anyway, I thought I would throw this out to anyone that wants to look at a different alternative and so far I am very pleased. SGN, Steve Neal, did this and tried to get me to do this a long time ago and wish I had taken his advice then. RandyA
  17. Did you ride the bike and if you did, do you like the results? RandyA
  18. Bobbie, this a very good and timely post. With winter upon us and many looking for a good winter project, this is a good time for those who have not installed a loud horn to get it done. And think, for those out there that just can not think of anything to get their spouse or friend, be it driver or passenger, a loud horn would be a great gift. I really do feel that my air horns have saved my life on more than one occasion in incidents I could not have avoided otherwise. RandyA
  19. Good for you oldgoat, ya done good. You done something that woman will never forget, and I bet you made her Christmas a little more special also. RandyA
  20. Dan, I wish you the very best in your operation. I know that leg injuries can be very difficult to deal with in what my grandson has gone through. He has also had six surgeries and it has been a bummer year for him too. But, he is now walking good without any assistance but with a limp. Even though his femur was broken into many pieces, the biggest problem was the amount of muscle damage. I feel that years ago he would have lost his leg. The best thing he had going for him was he was young and healthy. As I said, I hope it goes well for you and you are able to get the improvements you want. But, keep in mind that sometimes we just have to make the best of what we get. I have had three surgeries on my right eye and at this point I am just glad I still have the eye and still have the other one that is still working pretty good. I feel fortunate. RandyA
