I just sent this response; Hey, I am retired and looking for a reason for a road trip. I have cash in hand and since you are in the military, would be willing to kick in a little more, as I am a veteran and know how difficult things can be. Just let me know and I can be there tomorrow. I will see what this gets. Randy

I am in the process of looking for another Maxima or Infinity and have run across one of those too good to be true deals. The following is the response I got back after an inquiry and even though I doubt there is anything good to this, there is reference to Google Wallet. Does anyone know anything about GW and is there any way I could verify anything? Hi again, Right now I'm in a military base. We are training, getting ready for Afghanistan. I am only allowed to check my email twice a day. We have to stick to e-mail for now. Hope you can understand. Like I already said, the delivery process will be managed by me. I think I can have it there at your home address within 2-3 working days. It will come with a clear title and reg. I am a member of the Google Wallet buyer protection program and using this service you will get a 5 days testing period after delivery. During that 5 days testing period I will not be getting any money. I need to know if you are interested so I can ask Google Wallet to send you the details on this deal. If interested please include in your next email your contact info for Google Wallet (full name, shipping address and phone number), so we can get the ball rolling. RandyA

I noticed that when I used the back button and held it for a second or so, as someone here suggested, I could go to the last page I was on. But above it, this site name would be on the list; secure.trusted-serving.com It also prevented me from using my back button on the browser afterwards. Just add the website, http://Http://secure.trusted-serving.com, to your list of restricted sites in IE. Click on tools or the gear icon in IE, then select internet options, select the security tab, select restricted sites, then click on the sites button and add the site to the restricted list, restart IE and you should be good to go. This will prevent it from showing up in your browser history again. So far it is working as it is supposed to. RandyA

You will see an increase of RPM of 10% in all gears for the same speed. This will make pulling your trailer easier and with this change, 5th gear will be more responsive and you may even get better gas mileage. $500 seems to be a bit steep for me on the rear end and you will need to get the housing machined for the speedometer hookup. I saw about 76 degrees on a 240 mile ride yesterday. This was our first nice ride day in a while. It is supposed to be about 81 today and tomorrow. RandyA
-
About 70 here today and piddled with bike, changed oil and tweaked on a couple of other things. I did not feel too bad about not riding out today as tomorrow is going to be warmer and by Wednesday, it is supposed to be close to 80. I am officially retired now, so everyday is a weekend. RandyA

Well, I installed both and did all the scans and stuff and rebooted and there is absolutely no difference. When I hit my back button on many sites, the only thing that happens is the advertisement for Coupon Companion Plugin will blink and usually change advertisements. I have gone through the uninstall on this and it does say that it is uninstalled, but it is not. RandyA

It looks like the problems I am having of the back button not working on most sites appears to be related to two ad programs called Coupon Companion Plugin and Strongvault or Stronghold Online Backup. The coupon thing is constantly having advertisements pop up and also causing other computer problems. This thing is so entwined in my computer that the uninstall mode does not remove anything. Anyone familiar with this? RandyA

This does not do anything, same as back button. RandyA

On most sites I go on, the back button has stopped working. It is real frustrating when doing a search on Craigs List. It also has stopped working on this site. Any suggestions? I use Comcast. RandyA

Stuck sparkplug
Venturous Randy replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
OoooooooooooKkkkkkkkkkkk. Last night I went out to the garage and made me up a concoction of trans fluid and acetone. I took my air hose and blew out all around the spark plug. I then squirted a little lube around the spark plug and let it sit for a while. I then started the bike and let it warm up good. I then used the long air nozzle to blow a little air onto the spark plug, then squirted a little more lube on. I started trying to back out the spark plug and even though it was pretty tight, it did give a little. So, I did the back and forth thing until it got a little easier and finally I was comfortable in screwing it out. I cleaned it all out good and put some anti-seize that is made for spark plugs and tightened it down. I also changed the other two I had not changed at Asheville and everything was good to go and the bike did start easier. I am still going to work back through all the connections in the ignition system and see where any resistance may be that is causing the voltage drop. I am seeing about a two volt drop from the battery to the TCI when I turn on the ignition switch. Anyway, I do appreciate the comments and phone call and wanted to let everyone know that I did get the plug out. RandyA -
Stuck sparkplug
Venturous Randy replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Not yet, I have been busy doing other things for other folks and have not taken time yet to look at the bike. We are going to get a warm up here in the next few days and if I am going to crank the bike up and run it until it gets warm, I would want to open the doors some. I do appreciate the comments and suggestions. RandyA -

Stuck sparkplug

I just bought a new air nozzle with the long stem on it and I thought about getting the engine hot and blowing a little on the base of the sparkplug, but not enough to cool the head. I will also do the acetone transfluid mix. RandyA -
The "Drive thru Window" At Skydoc_17's House Is Now Open!

If he does have a medical condition, I would do everything I could do to make sure he never drives again and let the guy know you will be persueing this. I would also take the pictures and visit an attorney. I would make his insurance prove that he has a medical condition and prove it in court. There is no way in hell that you should be footing the bill for any of this. And, if my electrical service was not good, someone would be paying for my family to stay in a nice hotel. RandyA -
While at Asheville last summer, I decided to put in a set of sparkplugs I had with me. As usual, I warmed up the engine some and the right front sparkplug came out fine. I then went to the right rear and it moved just a little and froze. Rather than chance stripping the head, I quit. I always use anti-seize and have not had this problem before. I am going to get the engine warm again and give it another try, but I am open for suggestions. RandyA

Start issue
Venturous Randy replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think is was at least 12 volts. Once I started it and then started checking the volts on restart, it was starting so quick, I was not getting much of a reading. The battery was reading over 13 volts. Once it warms up a little, I am going to do some more voltage and resistance readings. I replaced the fuse box about seventeen years ago. It is my hope to get the updated TCI from Dingy at some point. I know I need to change the sparkplugs and have a set that I started changing while at Asheville this last summer. I changed the right front one and when I went to the right rear one, it barely moved and was way too tight. I decided to just leave it and try later when back home. I appreciate all the suggestions. I have encountered a starting issue that has caused me to have to roll the bike off twice to get it started. It is like I am not getting enough voltage to the coil/TCI. The starter cranks over fine as I have a good DEKA battery and 4 gauge wires. I just checked the voltage on the red wire going into the TCI and only got about 9 volts while cranking with the bike cold. I suspect I am getting less than that during hot starting as with 9 volts, the bike started fine. I am tempted to run a wire through a button switch from the battery to the red wire connection on the TCI and when I encounter this again, see what it would do during starting to bypass all the connections. I suspect I may have a weak connection somewhere and thought I would ask for suggestions. RandyA

We are going to be in the high 30's all week. We are running 20 to 25 degrees below normal here in east Tennessee. RandyA
