  1. I hear Lubbock is nice, haven't been there. I did live in Dallas for 5 years. Hope someone from Venture Rider gets the job...
  2. Speedy recovery and be sure to get back on that steel horse!!!
  3. Eddie, I sent you a PM about the large patch a few days ago. Have you gotten any in yet? I'd be proud to waer one on my jacket.
  4. As a recent RSV rider, I tested the lot. Harley = Expensive & too much vibration. Vision = Expensive, too cumbersome & limited storage. BMW = Expensive & way too tall for me. Goldwing = Expensive. As you can see the common thread is $$, if price wasn't a factor I'd be happy. But being frugal means paying for what you need. RSV is the best rounded choice. There will always be something you may want to add or change, but remember the day you rode your new RSV home, I'm sure no one on this site was thinking they made the wrong decision.
  5. I wonder what the percentage is of cracked clevis. I'm sure Kuryakyn won't admit they have a problem. As a safety issue, I know I don't want to have a peg fall off while my feet are stretched out cruising down the highway at the posted legal speed. If the replacement set cracks as well, I'll be returning the for a refund not a replacement.
  6. When I bought my '93 Virago 18 years ago in NJ, I bought a cheap charger and cooked my battery. So I figured if Yamaha wants to put Yuasa in all their bikes, I should get the Yuasa trickle charger. It has not let me down yet, I'm still using the same unit today on the Virago and my '07 RSV.
  7. I put a set of Longhorn Duallies on my RSV on Sunday, rode to work on Tuesday and noticed a crack on the clevis. Upon further investigation, both left and right pegs were cracked in the same place. The shop I purchased them from said they will swap them out. Has anybody had issues with Kuryakyn pegs?
  8. Steve, Glad to hear your back on the road, hope you have a speedy full recovery. I was on the ride you led through Suches in May, I rode a '93 Virago. That same day I bought a '07 RSV Blue/Black. I'll definitely want to put your grill on my bike, but I'll have to wait till Jan to place my order. They do look great! Take care.
  9. I have the trunk organizer from American, it is made for the Venture. I'm going to get the saddlebag set as well. These are great for any price(but I'm glad they're cheap)!
  10. I think what we need for true unbiased info on bikes is Consumer Reports.
  11. Has anyone else read this article? It just doesn't make any sense why they didn't include the Venture as one of the test subjects. They compared the H-D Ultra, Victory Vision, Honda Goldwing and last and certainly least the Triumph Rocket III. The first 3 make sense, all touring bikes. But why the Rocket? It is a cruiser with hard bags. It obviously didn't make the grade as a tour bike, so why forget the Venture. The ranking came down as follows: 1. Wing, 2. Vision, 3. Ultra, 4. Rocket III. Having riden the Vision & the Ultra, I think the Venture would have given the Wing a run for the money. I will be sending Motorcyclist an e-mail voicing my dismay of their mistake at overlooking the Venture. mcmail@sourceinterlink.com
  12. I to think Nawlins would be a great place for the rally. Great City, Great Party, Great food, Great people, Great need for Rally help on local economy.
  13. I like the style Maineac posted because it has middle support rails. Has anyone put these on a RSV? Do they interfere with the passenger handles, when opening or closing?
  14. I've been looking for Saddlebag lid racks in the same style as the truck rack for my '07 RSV. Does anyone have any suggestions?
