Well the lights came in...and 4 sets where damaged. I came home and ordered the Kuryakyn silver bullets with 35 watt bulbs. I will soon see if the choice was a good one. Anyone running the silver bullets? Dave

Is there another vendor who makes air wings other than Baker? I would like to compare the products. I saw in a earlier post that some where made using alluminum plate are there any pictures and/or fabrication information? I am mainly looking into the lower wings that protect the feet. I have the crashbar chaps by Airlite on my Nomad and they are great ! Easy on and off with velcro... http://www.airlite.ca/page_images/1/kawasaki_nomad_engine_guard.jpgt. Any other ideas ? Dave

Thanks Guys, Squidly....were the light sets HELLA or just the bulbs (35 watt) Lonestarmedic....If not a problem please let me now the part # for the optronics lights to make sure I have not overlooked them. And yes, If they are unavailable here on the East Coast I may have you ship me a set. In a previous post you were trying to locate a slightly larger light housing did you ever find one? Dave

I agree the 30 watt would be much better for the charging system. Since the lower watt doesn't throw much light, I go back to an earlier question...would I be farther ahead to use a fog lamp instead of a spot lamp due to the lower wattage as well as the lower mounting position?

Thanks all ...I am still looking. The light selection at my local Wally-World is slim. I can not find a standard round chrome light housing even at the chain auto parts stores, other than the large BAJA style. 4 inch lights are available but are they too big to mount? Anyone using the 4" housing? Time now to look at Drag Specialties, Summit , and other catalogs.

Brackets arrived from Squid and now I can't choose lights..My nomad had 55 watt "spots" made by Harley mounted up above center line of headlight which threw the light out well ahead and easily adjustable due to height. Now with the lower mounting position on the 87' and I am sure alot less adjustment angle, would I be farther ahead to use a Amber/clear "fog lamps"? Are you using using fog lamps or spotlights? Pro's --Con's ? 35 watt seems to me to be the choice for the charging system.. Thanks in advance Dave

I wear the Nelson-Rigg rain gear style is Volante Black / Silver Over lapping front with both zipper and velcro coat no leak design, hidden hood in padded collar if the conditions are really bad. Full zipper rear vent to keep you cool. Both velcro and elastic cuffs.. Pants have zippers up to knees on sides, great for quick entry over boots. Suspenders to keep them high on the waist. Heat resitant patches on inner thighs so they won't melt on pipes. Elastic stirups which hold the legs down where they belong. And, ALOT of reflective tape so you can be seen ! To keep my boots dry, a pair of leg gaitors from Hopnel... Drove 250 mile last September in moderate to hard rain and stayed dry....except for my face but a full face helmet would have corrected that. I have never tried the Frogg Toggs but have seen alot of them on the road Dave

I thought the same thing. It is a very handy place to go when have a question. Just need a folder title....and I am sure the seasoned Venture Geru's will start to fill it with the information all can use. So when you add more light, rig a new mount, find something that really works good on the Venture...take some Pics...write a description...add it to the folder. Dave

I am always going back to this link when I have questions www.gadgetjq.com since I also have a 05' Nomad. Even though John put this together for Kawasaki Vulcans there is alot of useful information for adding the extra items to any motorcycle. I am sure some of you folks have already been here, but for those that have not....happy reading. So check out Gadgets Fix it page... Regards Dave

I had a glitch in AVG 8.0 and removed program then reloaded and it ran fine. If you also had the previous AVG free the new would not load correctly untill the old program was completly removed. Now, what is this about AVG being unavailable after May 31st, I have not heard that before now! Dave

Brown seat 87' Royale
davepa replied to davepa's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Condor...my local shops (3) tell me they can not match the density of motorcycle foam. They are happy to shave foam from the seat but claim thay can not do a satisfactory job replacing. I also am aware that the new staple holes will be present if the fabric is stretched back where it once was. Dave Brian, I will let you know in a few days what I am going to do....Again thanks -
I have only been a member for a short time but have been made to feel at home! Thanks to all who have already helped me iron out the bugs on my 87' Royale....... PayPal Sent ! Regards Dave

Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Everett Brown seat 87' Royale Still working on my chicken coop saved 87' Royale and I need to find a saddle. The previous owner had approx. 2 " of foam removed from the drivers portion of the seat due to a short inseam. I am 6' 1" and I need the extra height to hopefully remove my knees from the fairing much less the fairing bags. The bottom side seam of the drivers seat is now even with the seat pan so I believe there is about 2" removed. My local shop said they can not get the proper foam to reshape the seat to original specs. What should I expect to pay for a used seat not needing recovered? I have been watching Ebay...what is a 87' seat worth? Once I find a good seat I will have one available to someone who is also inseam challenged, which is in very good to excellent condition and Brown. One other question...are the seats from the 85' and earlier the same as the 86'-93's ? Regards Dave
