  1. I like it. THe 2 colours work for me, I just dont like grey or white, just like you dont like brown, lol. After my bags were painted the OEM brown they looked too big and plain so I had the painter just put on some pinstriping kinda like what you would fins on a bike of this age. I really didnt like the silvery/bronze stripe that was running across the 85's bags at wierd angles, so simpler worked better for me too. Brian
  2. I just use a Baxley chock that clamps the front wheel in place, holds the bike up, and then run straps from the passenger grips forward to the floor anchors and i am done. I dont tie the front down as i want the suspension to move, just the front wheel is clamped down. Ive travelled down to California and all over western canada that way with no issue. I unload and load my bike every day in the season from my trailer, its great that I can do this myself with this chock. Brian
  3. SO glad you got it back up and running. Youre right these guys (and Girls ) in here are a very special bunch of people, always willing to help out. Brian
  4. But the Brown ones are fastest, doesnt matter if theyre in West Virgina or not.... Brian
  5. Hi CLiff Welcome to the group. I didnt catch what kind and size of tires youre running, I know that some guys had some real issues with the Bridgestones just not feeling safe on the highway at speed, and they also made the bike feel almost impossible to make a turn at slow speed. You may also have a loose steering bearing, but someoen with more knowledge than me will step fairly shortly to add to that. Again, Welcome Brian Ps what year and model of bike is do you have?
  6. I would suggest to do a loop either getting there or going home that includes the International Rally in Cody WY that includes rides thru Yellowstone in 3rd week of July. The Bearstooth Pass is known as one of the most breathtaking rides on the continent. Brian
  7. I was surfing the VRide Canada, a website that has taken videos all across Canada from an HD Vrod, and found this video that i thought was cool with a Bald Eagle flying along while the bike was going past. The Bald eagle is an about the 3 minute mark, and the video is from the Merritt, BC area. These guys have some great videos have a look around and watch a couple. http://www.vridetv.com/blog.html?entry=motorcycle-riding-with-a-bald And here is the vid taken from just south of home, Regina, SK at the old Corner Gas TV Set. http://www.vridetv.com/hdcornergas.html -----if you guys watch this you will understand why i travel into the mountains or States to go for a ride
  8. Just click the link above the pic in the 1st post for the story and lots more pics. I love the bike!!!!!
  9. Darn! Thisnt at all what I thought it was when i read the title of the thread!..... Brian
  10. Actually ...I did.... It just starts to get even for a ll the cold weather cracks,,,, Brian:snow2:
  11. B.C. vs Saskatchewan Premier of B.C. Gordon Campbell is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out, attacks and kills the dog. #1. The Premier starts to intervene, reflects upon the movie "Bambi" and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural. #2. He calls animal control. Animal control captures coyote and spends $200 testing it for diseases and $500 to relocate it. #3. He calls veterinarian. Vet collects dead dog and spends $200 testing it for diseases. #4. Premier goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting small scratch wound bandaged. #5. Running trail gets shut down for 6 months while wildlife services conduct a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is clear of dangerous animals. #6. Premier spends $50,000 of Provincial funds implementing a "coyote awareness" program for residents of the area. #7. BC. Legislature spends $2 million investigating how to better handle rabies and how to possibly eradicate the disease. #8. Premier's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack and for letting the Premier intervene. #9. Cost: $75,000 to train new security agent. #10. PETA protests the coyote relocation and files suit against the Province. Saskatchewan: Premier Brad Wall of Saskatchewan is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A coyote jumps out and attacks the dog. #1. Premier shoots coyote and keeps jogging. #2. Cost: Premier has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow-point cartridge. #3. Crows eat dead coyote. ----------------- Any wonder why B.C. is going broke????
  12. I was kinda wondering if anyone thinks this would be adaptable to the G2 bikes. I like the look and it wouldnt be such a pain getting it up on the stand. http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com/Chrome-Display-Stand.htm Brian PLus it may be able to be used as highway pegs if it was designed right.
  13. hmm not sure, i think it was just an H4 Bulb there really arent too many differences. I would just take yours out and go down and compare it. Brian
  14. I have the Sylvania Silver Star Bulb in mine. It does help somewhat, but I didnt notice a huge improvement. Your experience may be better as your headlight isnt in a dark black tunnel like my 85's is. Brian
  15. That Loop was kinda on my agenda too, but its not quite as far outta my way as it is outta yours...lol Brian
  16. I was there years ago in summer and the going to the sun hiway is a must, Logan pass is great! I like the Kalispell, BigMountain area as its kind of the way the old west used to be in the area. (We spent quite a few winter vacations in the area when I used to ski, but skiing got way too hard for this old fat guy, lol!) I am kinda planning on making a trip that way next summer after Cody to circle around and then go home, if ya want to make a trip of it, let me know. Brian
  17. Gloves in 19 temps ? .....try out in -25c or so:stirthepot: Brian
  18. the scary part is , you could be right,,,,,,lol! Brian
  19. If youre gonna be around the Miami area around the 11-14th of Jan or the 23 24 th of Jan, maybe we could get together for an ice cream/coffee if ya got some time. Brian
  20. Yeah that, We use that on some of our Boards at work to keep em clean. Brian
  21. Ive found using those disposable plastic gloves like the restaurants use while preparing your food work great as a glove/mitt liner to keep you dry, and if your skin is dry, youre usually warmer. For years ive also used just regular grocery bags on my sock feet before putting on my boots and it seems to work for me when going out to ride on a damp, cold day. Brian
  22. Sorry to hear that you had to go thru all that, Earl. I hope guys that try to scam others get theirs one day. I am wondering if its possible to start a list somewhere of scam artists names somewhere so we could just have a quick look before we buy something off ebay, or CL. I guess there would just be too many to keep a list like that up, and thats just too bad thngs are going that way. Brian
  23. I dont know what youre really asking here, youre confusing me...(its easy to do...lol) BUT I always butter the bisquit on the side that looks like it will hold the most amount of butter in the little holes or creases, of course on the top and the bottom half after splitting....heheh Brian
  24. Thanks for putting that together Phil. Its great being able to have a look at everything going on at the show. Brian
