intake question
friesman replied to kevin-vic-b.c.'s topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I would get the engine running and spray wd40 on the area and see if the speed increases, if it does, you have a leak, if it doesnt, you dont. If its not leaking at least you know you dont have to deal with it immediately, it can buy you some time. Brian -
One of the guys I ride with has one of these,it sounds good, and i like all the options that the sound system can use to play the music from. (sd card, usb stick, cd, ipod connector, and radio). Its a real nicely finished fairing and sound system compared to some ive seen. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnZLV9NSZ40&feature=related]YouTube - Kuryakyn AirMasterâ„¢ Fairing[/ame] Brian

While wandering thru websites looking stuff today I stumbled on a nice looking RSTD with some road rash on it. Its a write off from insurance but if someone could buy it cheap enough it might be worth while. I know the side bag and the tank damage is pricey to buy new, but a guy might be able to find used. Does anyone know If this one of our members old machines? http://www.crankyape.com/default.asp?pg=DispSingleItem&ItemNumber=24503 Brian

put the airbox on and close it up, these things run like crap with out them. Check in the forums area under first Generations and you can find a manual to download in there. I would hook up the hoses just in case one is a vacuum source. Brian

Visual Animation of health and wealth last 200 years
friesman replied to friesman's topic in Watering Hole
Gee u guys think different than me. I was thinking if all these other countries are getting more money, they will be wanting to buy the stuff that we have to sell. Brian -
be careful with the ether, its pretty hard on a gas engine, i understand its dry and has no lubricating properties. Brian

I am a numbers guy, so I find this way of showing stats so amazing. They show health and income numbers for all countries over the last 200 years and actually made it show something that we can understand easily. http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/2010/12/200_years_in_4_minutes.php/ Brian PS PLEASE dont let this get political, i only put the link here because I thought it was neat.

Do We Still Get A Discount On Ride-On Tire Sealant?
friesman replied to Obber's topic in Watering Hole
Kreg, are you sure it was RideOn or could it be another type of tire sealant? I know that there are a couple of types that will attack the aluminum over time, but RideOn is sposed to be warrantied to be safe for the aluminum wheels. Ive heard that SLime will attack aluminimum Brian -
I wish her luck in getting on Ellen. She has talent! Brian

I am NOT an expert on anything mechanical, but i think I have read in here that if your battery is weak, you may not get enough spark intensity to run the bike correctly. maybe try with another known good battery and see what happens. I am sure someone else who knows more than I will chime in here in a bit. Brian

once to load a bike the easy way, i rode my bike thru my brothers coffee store to his raised loading dock at the rear of the building. We didnt wait for the place to close either, it was out in the industrial area of town and most of the customers were warehouse workers and guys who rode bikes. Now its real easy to load and unload my bike daily from my enclosed trailer with the drop down door/ramp, i havnt dropped it off the ramp yet! lol Brian

I cant beleive how inept some people are at doing this stuff. I was with one of my friends helping him load his 06 vmax into the back of his pickup. He was using 2 2x10s pushed together as a ramp when he got about 3/4 of the way up the boards pushed apart and the vmax back tire fell thru, landing the vmax frame onto the trucks tailgate. THat was a big adrenaline rush trying to stop that scoot from hitting the pavement. Brian

Need to cover small dent in tank.
friesman replied to pcoffroad's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Are the G2 tanks a double wall or single wall tank? If theyre single wall wouldnt taking it to one of those paintless dent repair places work? They took a sharp edge door ding outta my car a while back for about 50 bucks just by using curved rods. Brian -
Add plus one to the cherries as helping , but not the candied maraschino type. But the pain can be overwhelming ,so get some help if it gets too bad, Aleve doesnt help everyone. there are meds like allopurinol that can help gout and get the uric acid outta your blood so it doesnt crystalize in your bodys joints. brian

If youre around the Hialeah/Miami FLorida area between the Jan 11th and 14th (next week) msg or call if ya want to have a meetup my cell is 306-539-0728. I am not bringing my laptop with me so I will be offline for at least a couple of weeks there, so maybe a call or text to my cell is best. Brian

Thought I'd Like Louder but....
friesman replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
my 85 has jardines on it and i really dont find it loud at all. it just has a nice rumble to it when its idling or runniing on the street or hiway. Even when i roll all the way on it, it has a bark, but its definitely not unbearable. Ive ridden my bike from Kamloops BC to Regina sk in about 19 hours and I never felt the noise was stressing me. I have ridden with other guys that have loud pipes and have had to get in front of them to bring the noise levels down, so I know I am not completely deaf......yet...... Brian -
My 85 turns the lights off when I start it, I thought all the G1 bikes did. I dont know about the g2's tho Brian
